I didn't post yesterday because I had a long ass day at the doctor's. My primary recced me to a urologist, a dietician and another pain management clinic - (per my request they are sending me to the pain clinic my little brother used to go to, as he said they helped him a lot). Just trying to get a handle on my pain, fatigue and UTIs. I saw the urologist yesterday and I see the pain management clinic in August and the dietician in September.

Anyways, the urology clinic is the same one I went to for years and years for kidney stone issues. But I apparently haven't been there since 2003, so they had to register me as a new patient. When I got there, they told me I would be with Dr. F and I was like, "Oh, he's who I used to see back in the day." So when I got into the room, the resident comes in first and he says, "Here's funny thing for you, I just told the doctor that I was coming in to to see *Sister* and he says '*Dodger-Sister?*' and I said 'Yeah do you know her? It says she's a new patient?' and he says, 'No, she's a very old patient, ha!" I was so surprised. I expected he would remember me when he saw me, but that he pulled my first name out of the air like that was a surprise.

He came in and we talked for about 10 minutes about what is going on with me - (gave me a list of things to do to avoid UTIs and take cran pills and a plan for the future if this doesn't work and assured me that my kidney test came back good) - and then we talked for like 15 minutes about the Detroit Tigers. My poor sister was just sitting in the back of the room playing on her phone while me and the two docs talked baseball, lol. Dr. F looked good too! He's one of those guys that ages really well. If I had to cast a Hollywood actor to play him in a movie, I'd go with John Slattery (Roger Sterling from Mad Men). Slattery would be like the Hollywood!version of him, the slightly better looking version but still, Dr. F looks good!

Also, it looks like we will be taking The Nephew to the Hot Air Balloon festival this weekend. His parents are taking him in the morning and then we are meeting up with them later and hanging out, then taking him to the Kids Kingdom carnival gaming area and to get fair food and then he is staying the night. If I feel up to it, he and I can play some Monopoly in the evening. He really enjoyed it the last time. He's getting really good at strategy games.

It's nice to see/hear from you, babe! At least there's no current urgent BAD medical news for you, which, YAY. And it really sounds like all your docs are invested in helping you as much as possible, too. I'm not the least bit surprised that Dr. F remembered you!

Have an awesome time with The Nephew this weekend!

/knock on virtual wood/ My health stuff has all been going really well. No new UTIs and the pain management clinic really helped, so hopefully this upswing will keep on swinging!

Famous or Infamous or a little of both? ;)

We didn't get to the Hot Air Balloon festival, bc of high winds and also stuff going on with my brother's family, which I was disappointed, mostly bc I wanted fair food! We've had a few really great weekends with both the kids this summer though. His school started back up today, so we probably won't see them again until halloween, when we are trying to convince him to come and stay and help is scare the crap out of the neighborhood kids. He saw our newest halloween decoration and was like, "If that thing is going to be out, I don't wanna come." Pussy!

I think I convinced The Nephew to come in for Halloween! I sold him on being 'inside the house, helping us scare the kids who are outside the house.' He has a pirate costume and now he wants us to get him a hook, so we can attach blood and guts to the end of it for him and he is going to act out that he is gutting my baby doll.

But hell yeah, our new decoration is scary as hell. It cost me about $80, but it is so worth it and it represents my spoonie side! Youtube clip of it here! (http://youtu.be/VTjxT7bhnaI) Disabled Zombies Represent!

It is so weird how some people remember me after so many years! Last year I ran into someone that remembered me from 20 years ago, probably hasn't seen me since I was 7 and she recognized me and pulled my name out too. 8)

/knock on virtual wood/ My health is improving, a little at a time. New meds are helping and no UTIs in awhile! Hopefully this will last! <3

Health Update: /knock on virtual wood/ My health is on an upswing! No UTIs in quite awhile and the pain management clinic was fantastic and the new meds are really helping. That constant low grade underlying ache that was always there is like 90% of the time - gone. I am super happy about it all. Lord knows, I would have never made it through this craziness with my mom if I had still been so sick.

It sounds like you're going to get good care with folks you trust, and hopefully much less pain in your future.

Thank you! <3 /knock on virtual wood/ Things are actually looking up, health-wise. The plan to combat the UTIs is working and the new pain meds are helping too and they aren't even narcotics, just a nerve blocker I have to take twice a day. I was worried they would just try to hand me narcotics and send me on my way, but these meds are amazing and I can't abuse them!

As you know, my health has really stepped up. The pain management clinic was the right way to go and this one is so much better than the last one!

Sadly, we didn't make it to the Hot Air Balloon festival - so no fair food for me - bc of weather and work troubles for the S-I-L. Maybe next year.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that all this doctoring is only positive.

The hot air balloon festival sounds like fun. I would love to go up in one someday. It just seems like it would be so quiet and peaceful. Have a wonderful time with The Nephew my dear

It has been! No more UTIs and the pain clinic put me on new a med that is a nerve blocker and it has been working fantastically! Most of that new pain is gone and I am just back to my regular old crippling arthritis pain, which is still a good turn IMO!

Sadly, no Hot Air Balloon festival for us - a combo of bad weather and getting a late start, so no fair food for me. :( You know, for my late grandmother's 80th birthday, we sent her up in a balloon, the whole family pitched in on it. One of my cousin's went with her bc it was for 2 people. They wanted me to go, people kept trying to corral me into the basket, but I am terrified of high winds and just knew I would freak out up there. Which is too bad, bc I bet you can't beat the view and you are flying and just...yeah, if I wasn't scared of being blown out of the basket, it be lovely. :)
