Random Week Generator.
First of all, what is up with the weather? We get a terrible ice/snow storm the week before Thanksgiving. Then like 40/50, even 60, degrees for a month and no more snow until after Christmas. Then we have a week in the 50s and then snow so terrible, you can't see outside. Last week it was snowing and blowing so hard that we had to skip our Sunday visit at the nursing home. This week, we had the porch door open so the cats could go out on the porch and lay in the sun.
I'm just sayin' - don't tell me global warming isn't real. I always say the apocalypse will be zombie-infested, but I am leaning more and more towards a good ol' "Day After Tomorrow" scenario.
This last week was crazy busy for me and I can't even remember why exactly.
I started back at therapy and have a new therapist - we will call her "PT", cuz that's her job. PT is working on my whole left side. I do not have a broken rib, which was the doctor's thought process on those chest pains I have been having since I had my seizure. However, there is definitely something popping in my rib when I twist a certain way and everyone is pretty much in agreement that I messed up my rib when I crashed into the wall during my seizure. After my first therapy session, I was in so much pain it actually felt like I couldn't breathe. I hope it isn't like that after each session. But I like my new PT. She's a bit of a smartmouth - probably why Kevin picked her for me.
The Nephew paid us a surprise visit yesterday. We played some cards and then my sister came home from the pet store with a laser pointer. I don't know who enjoyed it more - The Nephew or the cats. The Nephew was cackling like a mad thing and the cats were trying to climb the walls. Then he got to control it and he kept putting the little red light on their butts and going, "I'm getting their butts!!" which of course made the cats turn in circles like crazy.
The Nephew has learned to tie his shoes! His dad started working with him on Tuesday and by Thursday, he was doing it. He is so proud of himself. We saw my grandparents today and we were telling them about this and then my sister starts talking about when she was a kid. So, The Sister and The Canadian Brother are eleven months apart in age, but my sister is the oldest. My brother's kindergarten teacher calls my mom and says he is struggling to tie his shoes still. My mom tells her that can't be, at home when my mom tells him to go get his shoes on he comes out with them on and tied and everything. My mom thinks it must be a behaviour problem or something the teacher is doing wrong, because my brother ties them fine at home. Then the teacher calls her back and says she has figured out the problem. My brother goes out to the school bus and my sister is with him and the teacher sees my sister lean down and tie my brother's shoe for him. Turns out, everytime my mom would tell him to get his shoes on, he'd just take them to my sister and she'd do it and my mother never realized that he hadn't been tying his shoes all along. Mystery solved! My sister always was a little mother hen.
In writing news - Yesterday, when I sat down to do my 500 words for the week, I ended up doing 1,000 words instead. I just sat down to write something real quick, figured I would work on the V-Day fic later this week. I didn't know what I was going to write, just this opening line that came to me of "Dean was twelve the first time he met Castiel". I had no idea what it was or where I was going but I ended up with 1,000 words. Once I stopped though, it became clear this is the beginning of something huge and I still don't know what it is or if I will ever pick it back up again.
And this week is going to be crazy busy, at least by my standards. I have to go to the eye doctor tomorrow which will take at least four hours with the drive included. I have therapy twice this week and let's hope it isn't as bad as last week. I have to finish my Valentine's Day fic and I want to post my Firefly fic.
And I have to go to bed soon, so I can get up and start said crazy week in the morning.
