Kings Under The Mountain Majesty.

So, my sister claims she actually works at her job, but then she comes home and shows me what she has been doing with her time. Like making up a royal schedule for if Fili & Kili were Kings Under The Mountain. Yes, King(s) plural, because they would have to rule together, because they are BROTHERS!
The Royal Schedule:
Breakfast
Braid each others hair
Royal blah blah blah
Nappies
Snackies
Wrestling
Go here to see more, as it only gets better from there.
She also sent me this picture of a Bag-End Litter Box and I WANT!! But apparently you can’t actually purchase it. /pout/
This is a proto-type made by If Industries.

We wants it, precious!
We also had a very serious discussion here at FanGirl Central about whether or not Dwarves have knots and alpha/omega relationships. I’d like to say it took us awhile to go there, but sadly I’m pretty sure that topic was broached within hours of the first Hobbit viewing. Yeah, we’re a classy bunch. But then again, come on, if it makes sense anywhere, it’s among the dwarves, what with so few females and the whole ‘other species’ thing going on. Idk if it has happened in the fandom yet, but there is MPreg out there already for The Hobbit. Though the general opinion at FGC, concerning Thorin being pregnant, is that it does rather impede all his ‘being majestic’ time. Being majestic is his number one job requirement, after all.
Also, The Nephew was talking to my sister about The Hobbit the other day but he doesn’t know any character’s names except Bilbo so he called Gandalf, ‘that one real tall guy who gave Bilbo his sword’, and Galadriel, ‘that guy’s lady friend’, and Lindir, ‘that guy’s friend who ran up and told them that the dwarves were leaving’. Idk why that amused me so much, but it was all kinds of adorable-awesome.
To Sum Up: I got my hair cut today! It took for-freaking-ever, well beyond what it should have and I will not use that stylist again, but it looks really cute and feels so good not to just have a mop of hair weighing me down. So, accomplished!

Date: 2013-03-04 08:23 pm (UTC)Hmmm, Idk, the middle part of the hobbit hole looks sort of high but maybe they should make it a little bigger. The website does actually suggest that you could line it with pillows and make it a bed for your cat as well though!
Also, WHAT IS IT WITH YOU AND KNOTTING???
LOL Your instinct reaction to this made me literally laugh out loud! Okay, wait...when did I ever talk to you about knotting? I have like NO recollection of this ever happening! Was it during one of our random whacked out 1 am conversations? Because I can't be held responsible for anything I say after midnight. I'm like a Gremlin, man, don't feed me after midnight!
Regarding the Dwarves and knotting, and in my own defense, a) It was actually my sister who started that conversation! I just happily participated. And b) In her defense, she had literally just discovered the whole knotting-alpha/omega phenomenon like two weeks before The Hobbit movie came out, so she was still a little mind-boggled over everything. And c) Come on, if it makes sense anywhere, it makes sense in Dwarve-culture! Right? RIGHT?!

Date: 2013-03-05 12:54 am (UTC)You accused me of having Oz knotting in one of my crazy dreams, which I totally did NOT (see what I did there? with the homonym and all? :P ). YOU WENT THERE SO HARD. (again, tee hee, I'm twelve) YOU SCARRED ME. (so I had to freak out some when you mentioned it again) THEY DIDN'T HAVE KNOTTING IN FANDOM BEFORE SHERRILYN KENYON'S ROMANCE NOVELS, I'm too old for that shit, yo!
HOW does it make sense in Dwarven culture? HOW ARE THEY CANINES IN ANY WAY?
And it's totally not after 1 am now, so what the heck is the excuse? :P

Date: 2013-03-06 09:02 pm (UTC)OMG! Something I am not prepared for! I mean, I have a dolhouse and furniture but they are all tucked away in the closet for when the kids come over! I thought I was prepared for all scenarios!
You accused me of having Oz knotting in one of my crazy dreams, which I totally did NOT (see what I did there? with the homonym and all? :P )
a) Omg, you dork and b) HEY! YOU WERE THE ONE DREAMING ABOUT WEREWOLF SEX AND SOMEONE KEEPING OZ AS THEIR 'PET'! I JUST POINTED OUT THE OBVIOUS TO YOU! It was SO obvious.
YOU WENT THERE SO HARD.
I did. I did do that. I remember now.
YOU SCARRED ME.
You are so fragile. ;) Come, spend more time in SPN fandom where knots on penises are an everyday occurance.
HOW does it make sense in Dwarven culture? HOW ARE THEY CANINES IN ANY WAY?
HOW ARE JARED & JENSEN CANINES? IDK BUT THERE ARE A DAMN LOTS OF FICS WHERE THEY HAVE KNOTTED PENISES! (okay, 'knotted penises' sounds horribly painful). Come on, this is the way fandom works these days. Get with the modern times, baby. One of the races in Middle-Earth will have to be alpha/omegas and all that jazz and I'm still saying, if I have to pick one, I think Dwarves are the logical option.
And it's totally not after 1 am now, so what the heck is the excuse? :P
I have none. /hangs head in shame/ I did, however, bust out laughing somewhere about halfway through replying to this with giggles eerily akin to that of my 1am giggles. I AM AMUSED.

Date: 2013-03-07 12:58 am (UTC)It wasn't THAT obvious!
Nope. I don't want to enter the fringe culture of SPN fandom any more than I already do. Some of those people are MEAN. And others are CRAZY. (in a bad way)
Maybe WE are the crazy ones. But in the good way!

Date: 2013-03-07 02:00 am (UTC)That's just how SPN fandom rolls, baby. It makes me fondly remember the wank of the LOTR fandom, when people threw screaming fits about size-kink between humans/hobbits and if you wrote that shit, you had to be prepared to defend yourself. It seems like so long ago. /sigh of old age/

Date: 2013-03-07 02:06 am (UTC)I just don't enjoy wank. (I mean, who does, really? Other than trolls?)

Date: 2013-03-07 03:14 am (UTC)But it was a big deal, back in the day, to write Aragorn topping Frodo. Then the fandom expanded, did way worse things to Frodo, and everyone got over it.

Date: 2013-03-09 10:48 pm (UTC)I was a Merry/Pippin girl at heart, even after I branched out into elves and men, but my fic often had background Frodo/Sam. It was hard for me to see Frodo with anyone but Sam though, because their love was pretty obvious. Sometimes I went Frodo/Merry, but always pre-series.
Because Aragorn just doesn't have a close guy friend who's apparent in the novels or the movies. Not like the other dudes!
Halbarad. I was bummed he wasn't in the movies, even though obvs they had enough characters all ready. It was an obvious and apparent slashing choice for Aragorn and just like I anticipated, was very rare and hard to find since Halbarad wasn't in the movies.
On the other hand, the movies dropped some hints at a history between Aragorn and Legolas and that was a pretty good choice because, you know, Legolas is so damn pretty. Aragorn and Boromir had a lot of hate-fucking in fics, which I always support. Aragorn & Eomer had some brothers-in-arms stuff as well.
I think the obvious choices for Aragorn were all people who were excluded from the movies - Glorfindel, Elladan, Elrohir & Halbarad.

Date: 2013-03-12 11:43 pm (UTC)To slash with Aragorn? Cuz, that's a different fandom. Lucius was not in Middle-Earth. (Nor was Jason Isaacs, much to my dismay.)

Date: 2013-03-13 12:12 am (UTC)Well, yeah, true that. I am still calling that guy that played the hot principal on S7 of Buffy 'Hot Principal' no matter how many things I have seen him in since!
But Jason Isaacs was still not in LotR.

Date: 2013-03-13 12:31 am (UTC)Nope. That was beautiful Craig Parker (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0662164/?ref_=sr_1), though now that I'm looking at his imdb profile pic, I can see him as a younger Jason Isaacs. He is a very lovely New Zealand actor though.
You know what though? I did pair Aragorn and Haldir together once!!! I had forgotten that until just now! In my Midsummer Fest fic. lol
My head-canon has always been that Jason was actually Thranduil. People wrote a lot of Legolas centric fic and so they often included his dad in the stories. Once I saw someone say in their author notes that their image for Thranduil in the fic was Jason Isaacs and I adopted that policy immediately. To the point where I actually got a little upset when The Hobbit came out and Jason wasn't playing Thranduil.

Speaking of cats and hobbits, I am thiking The Nephew's birthday story might be about Bilbo and Kili finding a cat. :)
