I woke up today with a text message from The Nephew! He is on spring break and my sister took him to Chicago for one of their special trips. Which means I get 1) a special friend-date night with The BFF where we are going to our awesome coney place together and then we are going to catch up on Arrow eps and 2) I get the whole house to myself tomorrow night, during which I actually just plan to write but since I haven’t written since the first week of the month, I am kind of excited about it. Anyways, The Nephew was using my sister’s phone to text me on my Ipad, so I texted him back when I woke up and then proceeded to have a whole conversation with him via text until the tone and typing suddenly changed and I was informed that the battery was dying because ‘someone’ made too many videos on the train - that was clearly my sister taking her phone back.
But I wanted to play that picture game with him while he was on the train and I couldn’t remember what it was called so that we could download it. I remember last year that everyone on my Flist had Words With Friends, but also several of you were talking about a drawing app that was like Picto-Chat or Pictionary or Win Lose Or Draw, where you just doodle a picture and the person you are playing with has to guess what it is. Anybody know what I’m talking about? It sounded like a good level for him because you just draw whatever you want, you don’t have to do something from a card or whatever. If anybody can help me out with the name of that app, we can play it together while he is on the trip back from Chicago on Sunday. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
And while I have you here - A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHIREBOUND!!! You deserve the very best birthday and I hope you had one! Here is a video I think will delight you - it’s FML!Bilbo and it made me laugh so hard, plus the vidder hit the beats really well.
Enjoy!

Date: 2014-04-08 08:48 pm (UTC)We figured it out - Draw Something! That's what it's called. Too late to play with The Nephew, but J and I have been playing with each other. At night mostly. In our beds. Across the hall from each other. lol
Your nephew is so cute and I hear you on not writing. I have a fact-checking freelance job which is money but also taking up all my writing brain.
My nephew is the sweetest kid ever, I swear. I may be biased though. ;) Stress is killing me these days and just eating my writing brain and not being able to write is making the stress worse, you know? Yeah, fact checking must be tedious and exhausting. The BFF was saying how when she isn't working, she is so stressed out about not working that she can't write and when she is working, she is so tired from work that she can't write. You can't win for nothing!

I'm hoping to get my writing back soon since the road trip to DC loosened some words.

Date: 2014-03-29 01:13 am (UTC)I can be of no help whatsoever in locating pair drawing games, but I'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction with ease. I'm just not now, nor have I ever been, a video game player of any sort. No, not even something as alluring as Plants vs. Zombies. :)
I enjoyed the video - thank you for sharing it!

Date: 2014-04-08 08:55 pm (UTC)Regular Sis, not S-I-L - I know my family is confusing! I should do a write-up about it. Once I get into explaining the double cousins, it really gets weird! But yeah, she needs a portable charger - he ran her phone down to 0% twice on the trip to Chicago!

It's called Draw Something and they do give you cards to draw from, but there are levels so you can pick the easy card and play an easy version with kids. I found out the name to late to play with The Nephew, but I've been playing with my sister a bit. It's literally just Pictionary with a different name. Plants vs Zombies is the best! It's so stress relieving for me - I'm no good at complicated games, but this takes just enough of my brain power to keep my concentration on it (and off my stresses) but not so much that I get overwhelmed. I love that game. Plus, Zombies! You know how I feel about zombies!

I raised my eyebrow at the song choice at first - it's so 'Shrek' to me - but it worked really well, didn't it?

Date: 2014-04-12 10:21 pm (UTC)YES! One of those would be great! Maybe for her birthday. I also want to get her a couple of those solar outlet devices that you stick on your window and it works as an electrical outlet - for our apocalypse supplies. Imagine it, the rest of the world has gone dark but we can still plug in our IPod chargers and charge our music because we have a solar outlet! We need a couple of those too.

Date: 2014-04-14 11:12 pm (UTC)That was one of the most powerful moments in Revolution, was when they got to play ACTUAL RECORDED MUSIC after what, a decade?

Date: 2014-04-24 10:55 pm (UTC)I think longer than a decade even. It was awesome. I loved that poor guy telling the story about how he missed the whole thing. I can't imagine what that must have been like to hear that jukebox come on. If we ever live through the Revolution Electricity Apocalypse and the lights come flickering on, I am not even going to hesitate to turn on the CD player. I'll leave it sitting out and ready for just that moment - no hesitation, just in case it turns off again! Yeah, I loved that moment.
The moment at the end of S1 of Lost where Hurley's Walkman finally runs out of batteries and his music dies out and shuts off on him, always breaks my heart.

Date: 2014-04-25 01:44 am (UTC)I'm going to have to refuse to live through the electricity apocalypse. We're going to have at least some solar out at the farm (but I guess an EMP would knock out the batteries that store it *sigh*).
