Answering The Call!

wendy, I believe, got it rolling) - to make a post, to get our FLists full up, something like the good 'ol days! Today or, hell, as soon as you hear the horns sounding in the deep or see the beacons being lit. You know how that goes. So here I am, answering the call.
Let me tell you a cute story about Pippin, the sweetest cat in the whole world. He's a big 'hunter' and he has these furry little cartoon animal faces that he 'kills' and then brings to you and waits for you to praise him. So, I am in the bathroom recently and Pippin comes in and drops his little piggy head at my feet and stands over it and 'meeps' at me. I go, "Oh, good job, Pippin. What a good boy. You're so ferocious." - "Meep, meep, meep." - "Oh, that's so good. Why don't you kill something else for Lady? How about Froggie? Kill Froggie! Or Buzzy Bee?" - "Meep, meep, meep." - "Lady's hungry. Lady needs a snack for later. Go get Lady a snack."
So then Pippin runs out of the bathrooom and I don't see him for like three minutes, thinking he's gone off to do something else. But then he comes back into the bathroom and he has an empty can of cat food. Big Buddy has to eat special wet food because of his digestion, but my sister usually puts the cans in the recycle, so Idek where Pippin got this from. But it's a can of food and I asked for a snack, so he brought me one. He drops the empty can right on my pile of dirty pajamas and stands over it and starts meeping at me, all proud.
I praised him A LOT. Pippin is the sweetest boy ever, though he's never seemed like the brightest, but here I told him to go get a snack for me and lo, he gets the best snack he can think of...special wet food lickin' leftovers!

Now if he had gotten a full can and an opener, you should maybe have started to worry that he planned to take over the world, but for now I think we're safe.

Date: 2014-07-13 09:34 pm (UTC)The story goes that like five SPN fans were talking on Twitter about the good ol days of LJ when you had to check your Flist like 5 times a day and lamenting the loss of that, so decided to all challenge each other and their respective Flists to make a post that day. One of the girls is on my friend's list, so I saw her post and then call to arms for others to follow, so I did. I don't think it was very widespread but if you happened to be in that corner of the LJ sphere, hopefully your dash looked a little brighter that day. I think we should designate a day of the month that everyone should make a post - like the 9th of every month or the first Tuesday is National LJ Post Day or something! Get the posts flowing again, you know.

I mean, I want New Zealand, but let's be fair, he is going to give that one to his mommy. And GranGran would want Ireland - but Scotland has scottish accents and kilts and castles, so I'll take it!

Pippin especially, as soon as I get up in the morning, I find him waiting in the bathroom doorway, just waiting for me to get up so we can have 'special' time in the bathroom. Idek what it is he likes about it, but he loves to go to the bathroom with people. I used to have a dog that loved to go in the bathroom with me too - I would call tit my office, "Tate, do want to go to the office with Mommy?" and he would run into the bathroom and wait for me. lol Animals are funny.

Date: 2014-07-11 08:54 pm (UTC)I read this study on cats that said they don't think of us as human, they think of us as big hairless cats that aren't very good at hunting ect, so if they like you they'll look after you. They'll bring you food and lick you to clean you. I just like that idea, it's cute. Also it's a little like they think we're dumb, but they love us anyway, which is such a cat attitude.
I spent half an hour yesterday talking to next doors cat Bobby, he was hiding under my mum's bed, which he sometimes does if he's been fighting (and by fighting I mean was attacked, he's a softy who won't fight) so I wanted to see if he was hurt. He wasn't, he was just being a weirdo.

'Hey strange man here to fix my mommy's plumbing - let's be best friends and when you leave, I'll sit by the door and lament the loss of my new best friend!' lol I still can't believe he actually brought me a 'snack' though! Thank goodness it wasn't like a dead rat or something. Roo once brought me a frozen solid bat as a snack, but I prefer the empty food can, thanks very much.

Wait, how did your next door neighbor's cat get in your apartment? I'm glad he wasn't hurt. When one of our cats hides that like we always get worried they've been fighting with each other, but most times it is just that they are scared and need to retreat somewhere.

Date: 2014-07-15 07:14 pm (UTC)I love that he's so friendly. I love it when I run into cats like that who are up for cuddles right away. It's very cute how they all have very different personalities like that.
I can picture him all heartbroken when his new friends leave, sounds like he likes attention, which is great, shows he's happy.
But yep, I think disabled cats describes what they think of us just right.
Bobby has decided our house is also his, the back door was open and so he wondered in, headed upstairs, and hid under the bed. He has different places he likes to sit, he normally only goes under that bed if something is bothering him.
He's an older cat, a real sweetheart who's adopted us. He hates change. If you get a new rug or chair he won't touch them, he'll go out of his way not to walk on them. I need a cat!

Cats lower high blood pressure, which my mum has, so that's my new selling point lol I have the opposite problem with low blood pressure, so I can only claim it'll relaxed me.
