I uploaded this icon after our last winter storm, where it was like 3 inches of snow, then an inch of ice, then 3 more inches of snow. But that was almost two weeks ago. Within four days of that, boom, 65 degrees outside. Now it’s ranging from 45-55 and currently we are under a wind advisory, but it’s still totally sunny out, like idek. In the last month we have had the worst winter storms of the last 6 months and the warmest weather of the last 6 months. Sis said to call Boy Cousin for spring cleanup in the yard, but I’m like, “Let’s wait until Easter break, cuz let’s not tempt like a blizzard by saying we are ready for spring cleanup.”

In US political news, ugh, I am getting discouraged. I feel the Bern, but I don’t think he’s getting the nomination. I know, Obama came back from worse than this, but Bernie’s loss on Tuesday damaged hard. Hillary is just too conservative for my tastes, tbh. I’m gonna vote for her though - It’s like how in baseball I say ‘anyone but the Yankees’, like, ‘anyone but the republicans.’ Especially given that it is almost a guaranteed nomination for Trump. Unless the republicans are just like, “Fuck you, no.” And if he doesn’t, as he stated during a CNN interview, there will be riots. Because he basically instructed his supporters to riot. He said like, “if I don’t get the nomination, there will be riots. I can guarantee that. Many, many riots. I won’t be leading it, but there will be riots.” Which was basically just him telling his supporters to riot. I know it’s not over until July at the conventions, but I see a Hillary vs. Trump showdown coming.

In health news, I have a MRSA infection on my left hip (had to be the side I sleep on, damn). Don’t go look up MRSA, it’s disgusting, you don’t need to see those images. It’s very contagious, mostly in hospitals and nursing home type settings. Sis got it from all the time she spent at medical paces with Mom, probably from Mom herself, who also has it. Sis keeps getting infected spots under her armpit area. Once it’s in your blood stream though, you have it forever, so this will just keep coming back. Mine isn’t terrible, but MRSA is resistant to most antibiotics and I’m allergic to most antibiotics, so my doctor is kinda grasping at straws. We’re starting with one I know I can take and if that isn’t strong enough, we’ll go to something that I’ve never had before (cross your fingers it doesn’t send me into shock). Mostly it itches and it hurts and I can’t sleep because I keep rolling over onto that side in my sleep and then waking up in pain. Ugh.

Owe you all a Mom Update soon, but for now, hope you are all good, my lovelies!

The doctor did a cut n flush of the MRSA spot and I screamed at the top of my lungs, but it really cleaned it out, so another week of antibiotics and we are hoping it gets cleared up. <3

Please don't give up on Bernie just yet - vote for him in the primaries at least!

We're leaving seventy degree weather to arrive in DC in time for snow Sunday night. What the hell are we thinking??

MRSA, ugh! Not even going to look, but ugh, it's like body rash herpes, in that it's the gift that keeps on giving. UGH.

Oh, I already had when I made this post. Michigan primaries happened at the beginning of March and I absentee voted, so I had my vote for Bernie in back in February. He took Michigan too, but not by enough. That's the thing, even when he wins a state, the gap between him and Hilary doesn't lessen enough to make a difference. I'm still hoping, and reblogging voting information on Tumblr and encouraging everyone to get out and vote for him, but I am also preparing myself for his loss.

I always forget (maybe on purpose so I don't hate you) that you live in the wonderful land of 'not freezing to death'. It's probably like 80 there now, while we are still lingering in the 40s. Let it be spring already!

Body Rash Herpes! That is a great way to describe it! (Sis says it's not, because using the word 'rash' undermines how fucking disgusting and painful it is, /shrugs/). Unfortunately it's not herpes, because that you can just take a antiviral pill for everyday and it keeps it at bay (mostly). This you can't do anything to stop reoccurrences, you can only treat it once it's come back, not preventively. (and yeah, don't go look it up unless you're one of those people that is like, "Omg, this is so gross, come look at it, eww!" and gets like a weird thrill out of disgusting things. Otherwise it'll just be an image in your head that you can't get rid of!)

Oh, good. :)

As it turned out, no snow in DC - but we had several seventy degree days THERE, and came home tonight (Friday) to temps in the forties, dropping to the thirties overnight. WTF, spring? W T F??

I can see how she would feel that "rash" was inadequate. I hope I never learn it personally!

I'm sorry to hear about your MSRA infection. Best wishes on it. I wish there was more I could say.

I'll agree with you on Trump! Or if Cruz gets the nomination, that's also scary as he's a dominionist. At least Bernie and Hilary are secular with their religions.

Thanks, darling. They drained it earlier this week and I think it might finally be clearing up. /cross fingers/

Trump is gonna get us in a nuclear war if he's president. Cruz is possibly scarier though, because he'll be so quiet and sneaky about stripping away our rights and it'll happen slowly and one day we'll look up and be a police state 3rd world country. My big compliant with Hillary is just that it'll be 8 more years of the same and the same is fine, but I want bigger change than that. I think I would have been happy with Hillary if Bernie hadn't come along and lit a fire under my ass. Now I want more!!

Weather here is already getting hot -- earlier than normal.
I agree with you about the current political situation. My mother who is 85 says she's never in her life seen it so bad. Frankly, I'm just as scared by Cruz as I am by Trump. Kasich, the so-called moderate, is also anti-choice, anti gay marriage, wants to repeal ACA, and cut taxes, the whole laundry list of Republican stupidities. Erg.
Bernie is in town tonight. I saw him last time he was here and it was really great. I'll see if I want to brave the crowds again.

Sooo sorry to hear about your MRSA. It's really nasty. My oldest daughter is prone to it and it keeps returning. She can take antibiotics and that usually clears it up but it's a real pain. She often gets it on her legs from shaving. So, I appreciate how difficult it is to deal with.

We've been at about 40 for the last week or so, but today it is sunny and 50 out, so I'll take that. Hoodie weather is my favorite anyways and I just got a new hoodie that is so comfy!

My feelings on the outcome should a republican take office are as follows:

Trump - We'll be in a nuclear war with someone within the first 3 months. He'll get impeached before his first year is out, but we'll be at war with half the world by then, we'll be in civil unrest and America will be a police state.

Cruz - It'll happen slowly. he'll charm too many people, not enough people will notice until it's too late. A slow, quiet stripping of our rights. There'll be movements against him, but he'll find a way to discredit and disarm them. And then one day we'll look up and realize half of the population is homeless and starving and dying without healthcare. Women are no longer in control of their bodies, reduced to baby making machines. The lucky few - the gay community and disabled and POC who have family outside this country, somewhere better - will have left in droves. Muslims communities will be policed, no immigrants will be allowed in, international travel will be all but gone. We will be a 2nd world country at the least, if not a third world country and everyone will say, "Wait, when did this happen?"

Kasich - It'll just be George W Bush all over again. For 8 fucking years. I did that once, I can't do it again.

How close to the mark do you think I am?

Bernie is in town tonight. I saw him last time he was here and it was really great. I'll see if I want to brave the crowds again.

He was here too, East Lansing, about 30 mins from me. I wanted to go but those things are not usually disability friendly, mostly just because of the crowds. If he does, by chance, get the nomination and come back to Michigan for the next round of tours, I'll brave it, I think, and not miss this once in a lifetime chance to See The Bern! (<--lol, see what I did there)

It's the 'keeps returning' part that bothers me. Sis' keeps returning too, in the exact same spot over and over, which means it'll keep coming back on my hip, which sucks because it prevents me from sleeping properly. I think mine is finally starting to turn the tide, so that's good. Man, if I were your daughter, I'd just stop shaving, lol!

Thank you! And no, don't go look it up. Unless you are one of those people that enjoys looking at gross things or are like, "Ew, this tastes gross, try it," or gets excited when you see how much cat hair your vacuum sucked up (yes, my sister does that). But otherwise it's just a gross image that no one needs in their head. (or on their body, damn!)

It does seem to be healing, but it's slow going. Hopefully just one more week of antibiotics will do the trick. /cross fingers/

I'm sitting here on the other side of the pond, feeling scared of this man. Trump is... I don't even know what to say. Just. I'm with you on the "anyone but the Republicans" thing so hard!

I heeded your advice and didn't look that up, but man, it sounds like it sucks. :( I hope the antibiotics work, and that you can get some decent sleep soon!

In general, I am not onboard with Republican's policies. I get old school republicans who want less involvement from the government, smaller government management etc - I don't agree with it, but at least it's a ideology I can respect. This new brand of republicans, this tea party sect, scare me. They want to strip me of my disability benefits and take away my right to my own body as a woman in the same breath. But Trump? Trump is a lunatic. We'll be at nuclear war with someone within the first 3 months of him being in office. I mean, he'll get impeached pretty damn fast I think, but still, we'll already be at war with half the world by then. It'll be a police state. I always said I wanted to live long enough to see the apocalypse and this may be it. And Cruz honestly isn't any better - just less theatrics with Cruz, but basically the same policies, so...yeah. I'm voting for the democratic nominee, no matter who it is, because fuck The Republicans.

Like, if you're like my sister who likes to look at gross things and be like,
"Eww, it's so gross, look at it!" then by all means, look up MRSA infections. But honestly, when Sis first got it, I looked at pictures and I wished I hadn't and I even more wish I didn't have it on my leg now!! They flushed and drained it and that seemed to help and it looks like it is finally clearing up. Hurts a lot less too so I can finally sleep again! Thanks, babe! <3

But Trump? Trump is a lunatic.
He really, really is. :( I thought Bush was bad, but Trump? Man. He's so fucking scary. :( I actually had an American come into the bookshop this summer and telling us all that "Trump is the man!" because he was rich and so wouldn't have to take donations for his campaign and therefore wouldn't owe anyone anything when he won. His argument for voting for Trump was that he was rich. Seriously. We have problems with neo-nazis over here, but man, I'll take them any day over Trump. Police state indeed. :S

Heh, no, not so much. More like "look at gross thing, then faint." So I won't be doing that. :p

Hurts a lot less too so I can finally sleep again!
Excellent! I'm so glad. :)
