I can't believe I don't have a holiday icon from "A Charlie Brown's Christmas". I do now! Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] matchboximpala!!!

Anyways...my mom came over and made a fuss about the Christmas tree. She asked about a bunch of different ornaments and I realized that almost all the ornaments have a story behind them - not usually anything big, just sometimes, "Oh, that was a gift from so-and-so," but it's nice. Quite a few of them we have had since childhood even.

Then The Nephew was here - (we finally did our stocking shopping, spent a ridiculous amount on the cats but because we did my sister's stuff at the dollar store, we managed to stay in my budget!) - and he goes, "Hey, you have a pink dinosaur on your tree! Do you have a Mickey Mouse?" and we spent some time looking at the ornaments together. He was going through each one, "You have an elephant and a snowman and a..." and then he kind of stopped because he didn't know what to make of the paper-angel with Castiel’s face on it. (don't worry, I'll put it under the cut for you to see).

Then [livejournal.com profile] ceitfianna was here and she pointed out my My Little Pony ornament, which I love.

My sister is happy. People noticed her tree at last. I was saying at therapy how no one noticed her tree and then suddenly, from all the way across the clinic, I hear Kevin yelling, “I did! I noticed it! It was lovely. Tell your sister it was lovely!”.

In light of this, let me share with you some pictures of my tree and perhaps a few of some of my more ridiculous ornaments.

My sister made a bunch of these. Cas, Anna, Zachariah with reversible lion face and Angel the Vampire. We have Cas and Angel on our tree.

Cuz we're just that cool.

Come on, you know you want to upload a picture of your most ridiculous holiday ornament!!!

Family party this weekend and I have to finish The Nephew's Christmas present. Have a good weekend!

My older brother does that too - he just uses white lights and tinsel and then those colored balls that all look the same - so, like your mom, it looks all fashionable or classy or whatever. My mom was laughing about how disorganized his tree will become once his kids start making school projects for the tree.

My mom used to have so many ornaments when we lived together (when I was like 20) that if I wanted any of my own ornaments I had to hang them in my room also. I got a mini table-top tree and just hung my favorites in there.

Yes, PICTURES!! I love holiday pictures.

I got a mini table-top tree and just hung my favorites in there. That sounds perfect! Because we went away this year, the house/tree wasn't as decorated as it usually is. Usually I just found random places to hang/place the decorations in my room. (any appropriate surface for a tree, like my desk, tends to be too messy sooner or later) Especially if they were presents from someone. Like, I had teachers who would give the class a bauble with our names and class name on it and if they didn't exactly work with the tree, I'd just hand them in my room.

Once I get my camera fixed, I'll post them up :)

This year The Nephew made his own decorations for everyone. He decorated little silver balls with glitter and the person's name. My dad never does a tree or decorations at his house but he wanted to do something with it - his grandson made it for him after all. So my brother hangs it off the deer antlers in my dad's living room.

And now we have all decided that next year we are going to band together to buy my dad some ridiculous Christmas decorations for him to hang off the two deer antlers he has up in the house.

So if your mom still doens't want to let you go crazy on the tree next year - you could always get deer antlers and hang stuff on them. lol

That is so cute!

hahaha, noted. I may have to steal them from a themed restaurant or something though, because where would I even buy that? haha

Oh wait, online *facepalm* lol
If it has instructions to pterodactyl sex, it definitely has antlers.

LOL Yeah. My dad actually killed the deers for which he has the antlers, but I'm sure you could get some online - you can get everything online.

Now that I think of it, I think one is a set of deer antlers and the other is a set of elk antlers. Yep, my family is full of farmers and they kill things.

My brother got a raptor claw for his bday last year (he's the biggest Jurassic park fan ever) so this is true.

Yep, my family is full of farmers and they kill things. Haha that's cool. For the most part, my family tend to grow things, but my dad has definitely shot his fair share of birds and things, back in the day (even a hyena once).

Also, my laptop broke the other day (so much angst omg) so I can't yet properly reply to the twink war we had going on. But I will. Just you wait.

Awesome!! Yeah, I am a huge giant Jurassic Park nerd. It's my most watched movie ever. (see my icon? I love Dr. Malcolm so hard).

Well, we grow things too (corn and soy beans) but then the deer come and try to eat what we have grown, so we have to kill the deer. (I say we even though I've never shot anything in my life).

Your dad shot a hyena?! Like on a hunting expedition?

Also, my laptop broke the other day (so much angst omg) so I can't yet properly reply to the twink war we had going on. But I will. Just you wait.

Boo broken laptop! I hope it doesn't run you too expensive to fix. hahaha, omg the twink war - I had forgotten! Okay, I'll wait for your response then. lol
