So, I realize I haven't posted since Christmas Eve. No, I have not been busy with holiday gatherings and such.
It's just that...my sister got us a Wii for Christmas.
And I seem unable to stop playing it.
It came with Mario Brothers - (I had to keep calling my brother all day on Christmas to ask him 'how to beat this level' and 'how to jump on this thing') - and then my sister also got us the basic Sports package - (I am quite good at the bowling and the golf, but I blow monkey butt at the baseball) - and Batman & Robin Lego game - (of which The Nephew tells me I am no good).
We made "Mii" characters, which are basically Sims for your game and the Dodger Mii looks like a total little blonde whore - it's so cool. Then I told my sister to go crazy and make a bunch of Miis - all I specifically requested were Jayne Cobb, Spike the Vampire and Special Agent Danny Taylor. After those she also made Dean, Sam, Castiel and Angel, Buffy, Faith and Mulder, Scully and Kirk, Spock, Uhura.
Angel's hair is totally doofy - it's so cute. Castiel is the best because his eyes are huge and his hair is all sticky-up. Faith is my second favorite, her hair looks really good and so do her eyes. Then you can use them to play the Sports package. So I have taken Castiel golfing, Jayne and Spike bowling, Mulder to play tennis, etc. And the cool thing on baseball is that I can play myself and then the computer randomly selects the other Miis to be on my team. So like I am team captain and Kirk and Dean and Mulder were all on my team.
Like I said...it's awesome.
But it's also kept me from my computer and LJ posting. I have lots to post about once the new obsession wears off.
Health wise - I have been feeling really good the last ten days or so - a new streak of wellness. Still not up to par, but pretty good. And then today I just started feeling crappy for some reason. There seems to be no telling what brings on a bad day, but hopefully it's just one bad day, as I have lunch plans tomorrow with Cherie.
I also have a very nice therapy story for you, but I'll save that for next week. In the meantime, just know that yesterday I had to explain to Kevin what a "twink" is. Yeah, that was surreal. His "amused" face is adorable.
I'm off to bed now.

Date: 2011-12-31 03:47 pm (UTC)Also, do you realize that when you listed characters for the Mii, you paired some people up in ways that you should totally write? Specifically, look at this punctuation, here:
Faith and Mulder, Scully and Kirk
And I think it should be written as missing scenes for X-files. Where Faith is a badass trainee shoved off on Mulder, and Kirk is the alien who probed Scully.
Look at that set-up again. Yeah, I said probed. Now you want to write it EVEN MORE. Uh huh. That's right.
Also, Happy New Year!

Date: 2012-01-01 10:47 pm (UTC)Faith and Mulder, Scully and Kirk - This Is Awesome.
I haven't stopped thinking about it since you pointed it out. Faith would be such a badass FBI agent. But oh, I thought of one better for Scully and Kirk - what if Bones went on temporary leave and Scully was the doctor filling in on the ship?
PROBED!!
Maybe all that time Mulder was missing after being abducted, he was just chilling on the Enterprise?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Date: 2012-01-04 11:43 pm (UTC)But just to tease you...
Summary: Scully had a perfectly good gig teaching at The StarFleet Academy, so she's unsure why she ever agreed to take this newest gig, as the ship doctor's for The USS Enterprise. The captain both seems pissed that she's there and yet somehow highly infatuated with her. Throw in the two Feds looking for the ship's previous doctor (missing on assignment and Scully doesn't even want to guess what happened to him) constantly asking her to help with the investigation and Scully thinks maybe this was all a terribly bad idea.
I will never get off the Wii! It calls to me at night.

Date: 2012-01-05 02:10 am (UTC)Sadly for me, I come up with three story ideas a day and I write like one a month.
PS: Just read the summary to my sister and you should have heard the noise she made. I shouldn't have gotten her so riled up before bed.

Date: 2011-12-31 10:19 pm (UTC)I didn't even think to do that with Mii's.......Why didn't I?
Why do I have a mental image of Spike bowling? And why does it make me giggle?
Happy new year?

Date: 2012-01-01 10:54 pm (UTC)Good health for everybody!
My sister likes to make neighborhoods on her Sims - like a Whedon neighborhood with all Joss Whedon characters and a supernatural neighborhood with like vampires and werewolves from different shows and a Lord of the Rings neighborhood, etc.
So of course when we got the Wii, I immediately thought about her making all those characters for our games. When I was little we had baseball on the nintendo and I would always pretend that my team was made up of people from the TV show The A-Team and I guess I still do that after all.
Someone on my Flist was like, "Here are some good Spike fics to read" and I was all, "I don't have time. I am busy taking Spike bowling with Jayne Cobb. That's kind of like reading Spike fic, right?" lol
Happy New Year!

You know, all you did by explaining 'twink' to Kevin is give him more ammunition for those weird talks he's been having with you. I mean, what the hell is he gonna come up with next!?

Date: 2012-01-04 11:58 pm (UTC)/knocking on virtual wood/ I have been having more good days in health than bad, so yes, lets hope that continues. For you too, babe - all good health in 2012.

LMAO Yeah, probably true. Yesterday Kevin and I talked about vampires and which show had the hottest vampires on it. I explained I like half-crazy serial killer vampires the best, like Angelus. He gave me the "concerned father" face, like maybe he is worried about me.

Date: 2012-01-06 12:06 pm (UTC)Anyway, I agree crazed serial killer vampires are good for the evil creature of the week, but I have to confess a big soft spot for the flat out crazy ones. (I know it's not on tv, but I love Anne Rice's Louis, such a soft gentle angst-monkey *sighs*)

Date: 2012-01-08 11:47 pm (UTC)Lol True. He probably wasn't surprised so much as concerned that my parents didn't get me proper counseling as a teenager. 8)
I never read any Anne Rice, if you can believe that, what with how into vampires I have always been. "Angst-monkey" is an awesome phrase.
I was just so bored by Angel when he was on "Buffy" and then when he turned into Angelus, I was like, "Oh my god, soooo hot. I hope he eats everyone's face off!" Yeah...okay, Kevin is right to be worried about me.

Date: 2012-01-09 11:58 am (UTC)I quiet like Anne Rice's books but I'm not sure how I feel about her or her hardcore fans. For shear entertainment value the first ones (Interview, Vampire Lestat and I think there's one more) are good imo. But she does seem to get that 'Oh look, I'm a famous writer now let's churn out a book a year regardless of quality' problem as the series goes along.

Date: 2012-01-09 08:37 pm (UTC)Isn't Anne Rice the one who put the smack down on anyone writing her characters into fanfic? Cuz that turns me off of her right there. Doesn't she realize fanfic is promoting her works?

Date: 2012-01-11 11:57 am (UTC)Anyway, as the person portrayed in interviews I don't like Anne Rice, but I do like her books (the first ones).
