R.I.P.
Dick Clark

November 30, 1929 – April 18, 2012
“America’s Oldest Teenager”

I was so sad to hear this news. I didn't realize he was only 82 - I thought he was older than that. It seems like Dick Clark has been with us forever. I went and looked it up and he was only 27 when he became the host of American Bandstand. A true American icon, this man. He'll be missed.

I also read that Levon Helm from "The Band" is in the final stages of cancer. Their music is truly iconic and if you've not listened to any in awhile, I urge you to do so. This is one of my favorites here - Look Out Cleveland.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a happier post.

Dick Clark was part of my childhood. He seemed immortal somehow.

I watched the Rockin Eve every New Years for as long as I can remember. Last year was the first year I have missed it since I was a kid and I was sad to realize I had missed his last one.

He seemed immortal somehow.

He really seemed like he never aged and I kind of thought he would be here long after me. :(
