Ficage In April.
I almost forgot to make this post this month! My word count for April. I did amazing last month on my word count. My second best numbers so far this year, thanks to two important birthdays and massive inspiration. I finished up a fic, wrote in an old fandom, wrote in a fandom that I love to read in but barely ever write in, and finished out with a brand new fandom. Everything I worked on this month - Completed! I am not sure all of it is good (the Danny/Martin fic is so clichéd it hurts and I didn’t even write the porny bits!) and some of it went to a totally different place than I had intended, but other pieces made me ridiculously happy.
Here is my approximate word count for the month.
April, 2012
Week One: 500 words of Gale/Finnick fic. Completed.
Week Two: 1,450 words of Danny/Martin fic. Completed.
Week Three: 3,650 words of Steve/Danny fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Four: 2,700 words of Avengers Gen fic. Completed. (already posted!)
8,300 words written in April!
The Way Home
Rachel watched the house burn and take everything she loved away from her. And now Bobby was just supposed to leave her behind? - Or, How Rachel and Bobby Found Each Other. Based off of a SuperPretendNatural character that I happen to love a lot - Rachel Nieland. I wrote this fic as a sort of intro/crash course into who Rachel is and why I love her. Because it isn’t my own character, I didn’t feel like I could cross-post it but I was happy to share it with my Flist because I am rather fond of their familial relationship.
Fallen
Logan’s dealing with his own pain, when he finds an injured man in the woods. This is one of my favorite things I have ever written. I really don’t like to pick favorites, but here I am. The last lines in this fic are my absolute utter favorites and the idea of Castiel and Logan still floats around in my head.
Stay
You are watching me. I posted this for Poetry Month. It is actually a piece of fanfic, though when I posted it I refused to outright say in what fandom or pairing it was written, just because I wanted to see what it made my readers think of. I totally forgot I was going to repost it with the fanfic header info on it. This was an interesting experiment for me and I rather like how it came out.
Overall, April was a really, really good month for writing. I also managed to post seventeen times, which may be a record for me. On the other hand, I have now gotten so far behind on my Flist that it won’t actually let me go back that far. I still have a ton of writing to do this month for RL birthdays - (finished The Nephew's, am working on The BFF's, want to do one for The Sister). But you guys...I started The BFF’s birthday fic and I can’t talk about it here because she reads this LJ…but I am stupidly in love with it and I hope it keeps going as well as it has started!

Holy shitballs! Um, that's a lot. But your posts are always short and I save mine up so they come out longer. Honestly, if I had the time, I could post 800 words every day. But I wouldn't ever have time to read anyone else's LJ and then how would I know what was up with all of you?
I am happy if I average out at around 12 posts a month. I don't know how you do it, girl.

I can't even tell you what I am writing for The BFF because even if I did, you would just poke me and be like, "What is wrong with your brain?" But I am enjoying it.

The BFF's fic is Plotty-Crack. Is that a genre?

I hope the visit goes well. Maybe we can try and set a date for that next Saturday and kick back with Marvel movies and do nothing for a bit.

Good luck with the other fics you have planned and how did writing in a whole new fandom go? You already know I'm impressed with the amount of fandoms you manage to write in :D

Ugh, I hate that too. I have a whole folder titled "Unfinished Fics" and whenever I go over there, I am like, "I loved that story! Why didn't I finish it?"
Birthday fics don't always work out for me. I have a threesome fic I started last summer for someone's birthday and I am hoping if I am lucky and can get it together, I may have it finished by their birthday this year. And it isn't even that long! I think I was just really inspired by these last two birthday fics.
The new fandom I wrote in was The Avengers and it went really well. I actually have a few ideas plotted out for more Avengers fic. I thought it would be harder, because one of the characters is Coulson who doesn't have much to work on from the other movies (hadn't seen The Avengers yet so I didn't have that to work off of) and the other character was Darcy from "Thor" and I only saw "Thor" that one time. But I think it went really well and after seeing the movie I am pumped to write more.

Thanks! Lol, I'm always impressed with the amount of porn you write, so I guess we're even! ;)

I've had a few rwquests and I feel bad because I know it'll be a while till I get to them, because I'm working on 6 bigbangs right now.
Half my flist seems to be writing Avengers, I need to see that movie lol, so I can join in the fun lol It's always good to be pumped about a new fandom, I love that feeling.
Hehe thanks, clearly I have a porn filled brain :D

I wish I was doing this well with the writing, but now that school is slowing down I might actually get something fandom-y done. *crosses fingers*

Gale/Finnick is so weird because they barely have any interaction at all with each other, certainly not any without Katniss in the room and yet, they are both pretty and I want them to kiss. The fic would not do what I wanted it to though, but I am still happy with how it came out. I find it odd and cool when I start writing something with one end goal in mind and then the fic goes in a completely different direction.
(Oh, GOD FINNICK *emotional wreck*).
/hugs, more hugs/ I just replied to all your Hunger Games comments and they all seemed to have this same sentiment.

I hope so too! GOOD LUCK!

Also, I had to go back and re-read Fallen. I'd forgotten about it. Damn it still packs a hell of a punch. I really like that you post links to the stuff from previous years in your monthly round-up.

I think I've only written maybe 83 words this month! lol
I remember months like that - it can be so frustrating because you feel the urge to write but you can't find the time or energy. Yes?
It feels so good when the words just flow doesn't it?
It does. This 'forcing myself to write 500 words a week' thing has really done exactly what I wanted it to do - it keeps the juices flowing.

Awww, thank you. I am glad to hear it works on re-read. :) It's a story I am really proud of because when I sat down to write it, I thought, "No way I can write Castiel and Logan in a fic together, they don't mesh," and yet it came out so perfectly.

I am happy to hear that, actually. I do it for my own reminiscing benefit but I always worry that it seems like I am self-pimping. I am glad it is a nice reminder of fics you enjoyed!
