Like A Flood. Relief.

My dad’s surgery went well. They said he lost a lot of blood and they almost did a transfusion but decided against it. He woke up after the anesthetic and he never stopped breathing during the surgery itself, which was a big concern because of his weight and whatnot. He is in a surgery step-down unit for the night and if he continues to do well, they will move him to the regular post-surgery ward for several days. The only concern we have left to worry about now is post-surgery infections. I think if he makes it through the end of the week, we will be in the clear.

I can honestly say I plan to sleep like a log tonight for the first time in a week. I am so relieved. With my dad’s health as bad as it is, I was prepared - (as prepared as one can be) - for the worst and I am kind of shocked that it all came out so well.

I really appreciate all the good thoughts from you guys. <3s

And since I am here, let me ask a question to all the people still watching Glee. My intention was to finish season three, watch Puck graduate - (yes, he is my favorite character) - and then be done with the show. Season 2 just didn’t work for me very well and I have several episodes of season 3 on my Tivo that I still haven’t gotten around to watching yet, which makes me think my interest has severely waned. So today I was going to go through my Tivo’s Season Pass Manager and take Glee out and put in Collection Intervention and Paranormal Witness, as well as clean out any other things that needed it. When I went through my Wishlist though - the season 4 premiere of Glee popped under Mark Salling’s name. And imdb tells me he is still on the show. I know that they plan on following Rachel in season 4, which I think is both a mistake on the part of the show and on Lea Michele’s career but whatever. So, without spoiling me for anything else in season 3 or 4, tell me - are they following Puck post-graduation or did he get held back? I can’t imagine I will watch season 4 either way but I held off on pulling it from my manager for the moment. I love Puck so much, it’s ridiculous, but the show itself I have kind of fallen out of love with, That’s okay, all I need is season one and the Grinch Christmas episode - (which I got for Christmas last year!).

I'm very happy for your dad and for your whole family that it went well. *hugs*

Thank you! He had a rough day yesterday with pain but my sister says he seemed much better today and he is still infection-free. I am still a little shocked it all went so well but I am so happy.

Supposedly all of the characters from before are still going to be a part of season four, but probably less of them than of Rachel and Kurt, who are going to take up about half of the show time.

I agree; big mistake all around.

That is so stupid. They would get a much longer lasting, fresher show if they rotated people out, brought in new kids and let older ones graduate and then the new kids would be moved up to the senior spots and so on - the show could last 15 years like that. It would be cool if they had let Finn graduate and then we don't see him for four years or so and then Mr. Schue leaves the school and Finn came back after all those years to be a teacher and take over the Glee club. Right? And this is such a bad idea for the actors' careers as well - you would think Lea and Chris would want to storm Broadway while they are still sought after names. You know, my biggest problem with the show as a whole is that it very much felt like The Rachel & Kurt Show, until I didn't like those characters anymore at all.

Ugh. Well, I am sure I am not watching season four but now I have to decide if I even want to watch the season three episodes I have left on the Tivo. I mean, when I thought graduation would be the end of their stories, I was all for watching it but now - what's the point?

There were some good things in season three. There were also some really boring episodes. Also, Ryan needs to stop trying to rewrite his own teens years through Kurt.

The Glee Project was FUN, though. Go watch that instead.

Ugh, yes. We all take our real lives and make them turn out better/make them more exciting in our heads. But they should stay in our heads. They certainly should not be displayed all over the TV for the world to see. Ryan should just get a LJ and start writing bad Mary-Sue fics featuring Kurt instead of forcing it on us every week. It turned me sour on Kurt pretty damn fast.

It isn't available through Netflix! :( Remind me next season to try it out.

I will! You might also be able to find some of it on the Glee website.

Good to hear your dad has made it through the worst part. I'll keep him and you in my thoughts as he recovers the rest of the week.

As for Glee, my GF made me watch this past season. I would have given up on it after last season because the writing quality has suffered greatly. Here's how much the show sucked: I actually *watched* the whole thing and I can't remember if he passed or not! One thing to note though, is that he and Bieste have a bit of bonding when she helps him study, and they duet together. That I do remember, and perhaps is worth a watch.

Oh! And since you are only around for the Puck action, I will say to watch the season finale, if only to see the scene between Rachel and Finn in the car at the train station. Lea Michele was excellent in that scene, and I hope she gets the hell away from Glee ASAP.

Thank you! He was struggling with some pain yesterday but my sister says he was much better this morning. I am hopeful for a postive outcome all around, now that I have gotten over my shock that it went so well.

I agree the writing quality has been sucking pretty bad on Glee. The fun thing about season one was that it didn't take itself too seriously, it knew it was a campy show. And then it started to feel like I was watching a bad after-school special every episode in season two and it started to feel very preachy and I feel like the whole thing was just taking itself very seriously, which was a mistake, imo.

Here's how much the show sucked: I actually *watched* the whole thing and I can't remember if he passed or not!

Dude. That's sad. Now I can't decide what to do - if Puck graduated, then I think I will watch through to the end of season three, because that will feel a bit like closure for me, especially with the others who graduated this year. But if he didn't graduate, then to get that closure I would have to watch season four and there is no way I am doing that, with the stupidity they seem to be going for this year - (I mean, seriously, how are they going to follow all the graduating kids AND have time to follow the kids at the school too? It's stupid).

One thing to note though, is that he and Bieste have a bit of bonding when she helps him study, and they duet together.

Awwww, that I do want to see.

I hope Lea gets the hell away from Glee too. That girl has got talent and she should be capitilizing on her fame now while she can.

Ugh, Glee, you frustrate me.
