1) CONGRATS TO RICK PORCELLO FOR HIS FIRST CAREER COMPLETE GAME!! That is quite a feat! He had a chance earlier this season, but they pulled him at the last second. This time around they had a big enough lead and he had a couple innings where he only threw like 7 or 8 pitches, so they let him go for it! All nine innings and Detroit took the win! With about 15 games left in the season - IT’S GO TIME!


2) ‘Camp’ is over. I am super sad. There was a shot in the episode of Mack closing up the mess hall; chairs pushed in, room empty, shutting the door behind her, and a well of tears sprung to my eyes. Then they did the overhead shot of all the cars pulling out, driving off down the dirt road and more tears welled up and then Buzz had his last final line, looking right at the camera, and the end credits came up - and this strangled whimper came out of me. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S OVER! AND WE DON’T EVEN KNOW IF THEY ARE COMING BACK!! YOU MUST COME BACK TO ME, SHOW!!

3) I worked with a new aide at therapy today. I mentioned that I'm excited about ‘Marvel’s Agents of Shield’ premiering and she said, “What’s that?” and I told her it’s based off a Marvel character from the Avengers movie and she said, “No, I mean, what’s Marvel? I don’t watch a lot of TV.” SERIOUSLY? I was like, “Marvel? The biggest comic book industry that’s been around for like 70 years?” Nope, she didn’t know what it was. I said, “Avengers? Fantastic Four? The X-Men? Spiderman? You know who Spiderman is right?” She says, “Wait! I know that one. Or, no, I’m thinking of Superman.” I spent about fifteen minutes schooling her and then gave her homework to do later. SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHO SPIDERMAN WAS. Not even peripherally. She said she’d heard of The X-Men but she didn’t know what that meant. I CAN’T EVEN. I know not everyone is a geek who likes these things, but doesn’t everyone at least know who Spiderman is?

4) In Real Life News, the roofers claim they will be done tomorrow. I thought they were going to be done today and I was really looking forward to all the sleep I was going to get on Saturday morning. But I can do one more day of this. ONE MORE DAY. And then blissful, beautiful silence. It hasn’t even been horribly loud since Tuesday, but there is sudden banging and crashing and the sound of people walking around right behind me and it is creepy - it sounds like they are IN MY HOUSE. Also, I worked with my new therapist and I LOVE HIM. He is charming and quirky and easy to talk to and he literally just did everything I told him to do and I finally found someone who is not afraid to push and beat on my neck! I think he may have even left a bruise he pushed so hard and it feels so loose - sore, but loose - AND I FEEL GREATLY RELIEVED. Whew.

5) I’ve written 7,000 words since last Thursday! Holy crap, YES. This is good, because now I can watch a shit-ton of baseball this week and not worry that I am not writing enough. But…I NEED HELP FROM MY TEEN WOLF FLISTIES to get this fic in the bag! Can you guys answer the following questions (if there are canon answers to these questions): What color are Isaac’s werewolf eyes? What color are Derek’s werewolf eyes at the end of S3? How old is Isaac at the end of S3? Do we know what happens to werewolves when they get cut by a silver blade? THANKS, GANG!

Tomorrow I am hanging with The BFF and going to Outback Steakhouse with my girls! Then on Sunday I am catching up on comments and my Flist, so that on Monday I can jump feet first back into my mega-fic that is patiently waiting for me in the corner. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, GUYS!!!

IKR? 'What is Marvel?' HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO SPIDERMAN IS?! When I asked her what TV she watches, she said 'BIg Brother' but also that she really likes movies and she watches a lot of movies and I was like cross-eyed trying to figure out how you claim you like movies but DON'T know about the biggest movie franchise of the last decade - MARVEL!

I haven't eaten there in a couple of years but it was totally worth the money! I got the Pacific Rim salmon and shrimp plate with the baked potato and OMG IT WAS GOOD. I saved half and took it home for a second meal the next day and I swear, as soon as I woke up the next morning I was like, "When is it going to be dinner time, I am so excited for more of my dinner!" lol

#4: it's taken more than one day to get your roof done? Holy heck bb. Mine was done in under 9 hours. And that includes the lunch picnic they had under the trees in the front lawn. What are they doing up there?

#5: 7,000 words!! You go bb!! IIRC Isaac's eyes are yellow, Derek's went back to blue, even the cast doesn't know how old their characters are (16? 17? they are juniors in high school right?) and since the whole silver thing was put down to a mistranslation/mistaken meaning of the Argents last name, I'd say the same thing that happens when cut with any other knife. Tada! lol

RIGHT? I understand if you say that you don't really know that much about Spiderman, but to say you don't even know WHO HE IS - I mean, I thought everyone knew Spiderman is a superhero who slings webs, like that basic stuff, but apparently NOT because this girl didn't know what I was talking about!

They were doing EVERYTHING! Our roof, plus two garage and a shed roof, the back garage siding, fixing three major problem areas in the house roof, new gutters and cutting back the trees. So yeah, everything. That said, even when it was just the basic roof work, they said it would take 2 to 3 days. They worked fourteen hours a day, 6 or 7 guys, for a week straight, so they certainly weren't slacking. My brother used to work in roofing and he never had a job take less than two days. Really, nine hours?

THANK YOU! I am really fucking pleased about it even though I got crazy writer's fear after I sent it off to the beta that it sucked monkey butt. (I got it back and it needs a little tweaking still but it wasn't so completely OOC, which was somehow what I had convinced myself of - writers are their own worst critics, after all.)

Thank you for the answers to the questions! I got both their eye colors correct then! I had to make Isaac 18 because he really needed to be at least 18 in order for uh, this particular person to sleep with him, but I figure it is totally plausible that Isaac got held back a grade after his mom died, right? Cool on the silver blade, I just needed it to render Derek down for a little longer than normal but nothing too terrible, so that's how I wrote the silver affecting him - "It'll heal, just not as quickly as I'd like." THAnKS FOR THE HELP!!!

well, that certainly is a lot of work to get done! I can see that taking more than one day. Yeah, my roof was done fast. They dropped off all the material one day, the next, four guys came out, ripped off the old roof, fixed a hole they found that's apparently been there since the house was built, and put on the new roof all between 11am and 8pm. Two days later the inspectors were out and pronounced it good. I have the piece of paper pinned up on the cork board. :D

And I'll have to read all the comments here because I have promised a friend a teen wolf fic for Christmas. Stiles/Isaac and I know so little about this fandom. Tiny bit nervous.

I'm currently rewatching Buffy S3 and I just saw the ep where Angel pretends to be Angelus to suss out who Faith is working for and what The Mayor is up to. I'm about 5 or 6 eps from The Graduation ep. Honestly, the Mayor is just the best! He's such a fun big bad!

I could get on board with that pairing! (I recently wrote a Scott/Isaac fic but I'd never thought of Stiles/Isaac before!) if you need help, I'd be happy to look it over for you or help you out in whatever way you need, though I too am new at this whole Teen Wolf thing.

Thank you! 7k is 3x my usual weekly word count so clearly I was really into the fic I was writing! I think my baseball team is about to take the division title /xxx fingers/ (then we have to take the League title and then we have to take the World Series to be the champs but still, one step in the right direction!)

I've read maybe two teen wolf fics just because a writer I like wrote them and neither of them are the pairing I'm planning to write. I'll probably make a post soon to ask for teen wolf info. get informed on the characters and see what I can come up with. I have 99 days to research, plan, write and edit, so I might well bug you for some help, thank you :)

Yes! I honestly think he loved her and Faith was so desperate for a family, for a place to fit in, for someone to love her. It was great and though he was very comical as a big bad as well, I feel like his relationship with Faith really humanized him.

I'd be happy to help! Do you have access to any episodes? Because I would really recommend some S2 stuff if you want to write Isaac (it's when he got the most development). I could rec specific eps if you want. The thing about Stiles and Isaac is they are both smart mouths but Stiles is a total geekboy about it and very straightfoward when he is being quippy, while Isaac (who was severly abused by his dad) is less straightforward and very dry with his humor. You could do very well writing Stiles'' voice if you think 'Xander' but I can't figure someone to compare Isaac too.

Have you posted your teen wolf fic yet? Because I'd love to read it.

The two I have up right at this moment are Danny/Stiles fics and would give you a good idea of Stiles (plus, I think they are cute and funny, but I may be biased!). Later today I hope to get up another fic (it's a buffy/teen wolf crossover!) and though it is Faith POV, Isaac is the next major player in the story, so that might help you with his voice (though honestly, it is the character in the story I am the least confident that I got right, we'll see what the reaction is from people). HELL YES. New fandoms, new genres, new characters. The Buffy/Teen Wolf crossover I am posting later today? It's an action/drama story that is SO not my strong suit and is probably only the third time I've written one. As well as Faith POV and I've never written her before, and majorly featuring Isaac who I've never really tackled outside of pwp-porning. Plus only the third time I have posted both Teen Wolf fic as well as Buffy&Angel fic...and omg, YES, I STILL GET THAT FEELING. And I dip my toes into a LOT of new fandoms, since I bounce all over the place, so I am constantly nervous when posting! (right now I have a great idea for this year's halloween fic but it is The X-Files and I have stayed away from writing majorly in that fandom, outside of Krycek fic, because both Mulder and Scully's voices are so specific and I am terrified to get it wrong and I haven't even written that story yet and it is making me nervous!) LOL Writer's problems.

I've been linked to the episodes and teen wolf's wiki and bios on Stiles and Isaac. I've done a little research today as it was pointed out to me there are only 97 days to Christmas, so need to to research, plot, write and get beta'd. But I think your right to say think Xanderish for Stiles, like he's goofy and sarcastic and the human, no powers guy, but he's still important like Xander was.

Expect questions in your future and possible begging for a read through to see what you think of the characters voices.

Writing mulder or Scully would be pretty intimidating, they are so specific I'd be terrified of all the comments I'd get for not getting them right. I've only posted fic in four fandoms, with mixed response, I've encountered a troll or two. But I'm going to be brave and step into a new fandom, because my friend really likes it and I want to give her a good fic gift. I think it's a problem all writers have when coming to a new fandom.
