Well, I've been sick. I feel like I've said that a lot lately, but this time it wasn't 'under the weather' or exhaustion or whatever...it's a stomach virus. It's like 'spent two hours in the bathroom yesterday' sick and 'had to call my mom to come stay with me' sick. I'll spare you the TMI details, but on the upside, I'm feeling a little better today. It's tapered off and now I just have that post-sick feeling of being drained and empty. Which is not fun but considerably better than sweating profusely with legs like rubber and panting from the smallest physical activity, like yesterday. Seriously I'll take all that other under-the-weather crap over this any day. I've also been off physical therapy for a week now, waiting on a new prescription which has come in now so I've got to call and set up new appointments, which I've been too sick to do. I'm glad my doctor had such a quick turnaround this time when they usually take forever to get anything done in that office, but OTOH I was kind of looking forward to a little break, just for a couple of weeks. I did manage to make it out to get my labwork done today and by the time I got home from that, just laying down on the couch was like a monumental experience. Hopefully one more night of hard sleep will kick it in the ass.

So, I read another book - (headed towards my goal of ten for the year) - awhile ago and I keep meaning to do the Media Meme again - (am trying to do this every time I read another book) - so while I'm here, let's punch this out.

1. What was the last book you read? - Hiding The Truth by my girl, lizibabes and the first e-book I've ever purchased!
2. What was the last TV show you watched? - The Daily Show. Or Criminal Minds, which I'm watching right now.
3. What was the last movie you watched? - Star Trek: Into Darkness. (I think?).
4. What was the last album you listened to? - The Birthright soundtrack, Vol 1.
5. What was the last video game you played? - Bejeweled Blitz. (yes, again).
Bonus Round: What was the last fanfic you read? - Silent As A Smile (this might not be the exact last one I read since I read a couple of Garcia/Hotch fics while I've been sick, but this was certainly one of them).

Okay, back to bed now. One more night of rest'll do it, right?

Finally, finally feeling better, thank you, though still worn out (probably mostly due to babysitting The Nephew for five hours yesterday though, which at least is a fun reason to be tired!)

I am, at last, thanks! I thought I was better on Thursday, assured my brother I could watch The Nephew for him on Saturday and then two hours after that phone call, I had the worst vertigo/hot flash ever, idek what was going on. But I did watch The Nephew yesterday and even though I am exhausted right now, I am nowhere near as bad off as I was with whatever that virus was earlier this week, so I'm likely on a upswing here. /knock on virtual wood/ As long as it holds that way for another week or so, since I have the Chicago trip coming up this weekend!

Thank you! I think I am finally on the mend properly now. I felt better on Wednesday and then way worse again on Thursday and then better again, but I survived The Nephew for five hours yesterday and haven't keeled over from that, so I think that is a positive sign! (but seriously, who knew playing Legos could be so tiring? lol)

Thank you, darling! It took me way more days than I would have liked to get properly well, but I think I am on the upside now - /knock on virtual wood/ - and I managed to see The Niece and Nephew this weekend even! (it was just one of those frustrating illnesses where after the first day I didn't feel well enough to do anything but I felt well enough to be bored just laying on the couch all day, you know).

So sorry to hear that you have been sick, that sounds so awful. You did well to get anything done most people would have skipped it all and curled up in a ball and felt sorry for them selves. Sending you all the good vibes and wishing you better. Rest lots hun.

Yeah, I did that on Monday, like literally curled up in a ball because it was the only thing that relieved my stomach pain even a little. But then when the cramps subsided, I was just so bored laying there for like four days in a row, unable to do anything but well enough to feel bored laying around - I hate being sick like that!

I found out how much I like reading a book on my IPad in my bed, it's so much easier to hold than a book when laying down! And I did like the book - I thought we talked about how Charlie was my favorite! (I was so delighted at the end when there was a hint that he and Kish had ended up together!). I really loved the way they all came together as a family unit in the book and, much like all things in the world, I took to the side characters the most, especially Charlie & Beth & Sam.

I know the literally curling up in a ball kind of stomach pain. I have endromitriosis so the time of the month is all kinds of extra painful and has been known to leave me curled up around a hot water bottle on the worst days (Yay for being female)

People do not get how boring being sick is!! They think lying in bed all day must be awesome, but it gets old so fast, especially when your feeling just that little bit better, like you said enough to really feel the boredom.

I love reading my kindle, it is so handy. We did talk about Charlie being your fav and him and Kish in my head get to have a big romance of their own away from the camp. I like my side characters to get a happily ever after and have a life beside being the main characters friend.

Oh I meant to ask, because I know you have awesome taste. Can you rec some teen wolf fics? Various pairings to help me get a feel for the fandom before I start writing my teen wolf Christmas fic!!

Okay, I've been terrible at getting back to you on the Teen Wolf recs, cuz here's the thing...I write way more in the fandom than I actually read in it. When I had the interest to read Teen Wolf fic, I was way behind on the show itself and was worried about spoiling myself for it. So I waited. And then, by the time I was all caught up, all I wanted to read was Danny/Stiles! All the time! And so I can rec you some good Danny/Stiles fic, but not a lot of variety in characters. (I thought I'd just read some new stuff, find some good fics to rec to you, but I've been so sick lately, I haven't been able to brain-power that much. I kept putting off replying to this though, thinking I'd get around to making a list.)

So let me rec some friends who write Teen Wolf and who never fail me: wolfrider89, (edit: Uh, her best fic seems to be on AO3, so here's the link to her Teen Wolf stuff there (http://archiveofourown.org/users/rustypeopleskillz/pseuds/rustypeopleskillz)), blue_fjords and truelyesoteric. Also, queenklu recs a shit-ton of Teen Wolf fic on a regular basis and though about 50% of it is Danny/Stiles, the rest will really give you some variety to choose from. I'll shout out to my peeps and see if they can give you anything more specific, beyond the abundance of Derek/Stiles out there (which is a legit pairing, but also overwhelms the fandom). What pairing/characters are you writing for?

In the meantime - The Metaphor That Made You (http://archiveofourown.org/works/491776) is one of the best Gen 'Derek and his pack of pups' fics I have ever read. It's not the normal cutesy-pups that the fandom loves, but it is, I feel, pretty true to Derek and the way he is with them.

Also, this Danny/Stiles fic, which I recommend if you are interested in a spot-on take and insight into the character of Jackson. This author pretty much explains why I loved Jackson. Plus, really great Danny voice in this! Thanks For Nothing (http://temira.livejournal.com/161018.html).

I'm going to try to get my Isaac fic up this weekend!

No problem, like I've said in my other comment I've not been around either (so behind ugh) There were hospital visits, ambulances, all sorts.

I'm writing Stiles/Isaac, which seems to be a rare pairing from the research I have done so far, but I like a challenge, I just need to get my butt in gear and get writing, I want it done for Christmas. Its just a one shot, so I should manage it, but all these links will be very useful, thank you so much for taking the time, your the best hun.

Thank you, bb! Finally on the mend. Exhausted as fuck right now but five hours of The Nephew will do that to a girl. Still a little off-kilter but I'm starting think half of it is the weird ass weather/air pressure we have been having lately, idek. Thank god the stomach portion of whatever this was has passed and I am mobile once again!
