And now that I have you all on the edge of your seat...let me ramble at you about more things that I insist are real - BECAUSE THEY ARE! (Things I believe to be real - As All World Turns including Sam/Rob and Misha/Richard 4evah! 5 X Everything is a real boy band and Jared and Chad are actually on The Mickey Mouse Club. And The Mulvaneys & Co are really on Show!) Clearly, I'm watching a different show than all of you, because my Show has The Mulvaneys and they are awesome cool and even The Winchesters think so.
I love them. /sigh/
They came along years before the Campbells and are way, way cooler.
Here, let me explain. Years ago - I can remember this at least as far back as 2007 -
baylorsr and
liptonrm started talking about how SPN needs some younger generation of hunters. How they need hunters who do their job because they love it. And
baylorsr may have also insisted that The Winchesters don't burn things enough. So they came up with their own characters, that they eventually - after months of saying things like, "If the Mulvaneys were there, they would have burned that place to the ground."..."If the Mulvaneys were there, Frannie would have just shot that guy, because I mean, he's evil, hello."..."If the Mulvaneys were there, Charlie would have gone home with that skanky waitress just then." - turned it into an AU, titled "Super Pretend Natural." They made an episode guide, a character guide, an actor guide...like a whole Super Pretend Natural Wiki and also like a whole community where they post fan mixes and snippets of behind-the-scenes that they write up.
Recently, I started writing some Super Pretend Natural fan-fiction. I plan on posting it here in my LJ. Because I love these characters to smishy pieces.
There are a few characters outside of The Mulvaneys, but let's just start with The Mulvaneys. They are from Detroit. They have many cousins, that we talk about a lot, though only one of them ever makes an appearance on Show. <--that's right, because it's real, don't tell me it's not!
The Mulvaneys love their job. They love being hunters. And they are damn good at it.
Let's meet them, shall we?
Frannie is the oldest. She is tiny and kick ass and even Dean and Sam are afraid she might kill them. In fact, Sam is really afraid that she might kill him, because demon blood is wrong, Sam! She is smart, having graduated from the University of Michigan - represent my home state! She loves her brothers more than anything in this world. She is Crazy-Cakes, but she is Awesome-Cakes as well, and it's possible that I am both frightened and turned on by her.
Here, have a picture of Frannie. Played by Leah Cairns.

Chandler is the eldest of the identical twins. He is smart and kind and good at listening and research. He was set to be Frannie's partner on the hunt, but by the time he graduated college, he felt God had another plan for him. Chandler went to be a priest. Needless to say, Frannie had many things to scream about that, but in the end, what can you say when your brother is called by God. Chandler helps by doing research and storing items in the church's basement and absolving Charlie of that thing he did with that waitress last night. Occasionally, especially involving demons, Chandler will join his siblings on the hunt. And yes, 7th Heaven fans, it is Jeremy London as a priest named Chandler. Originally one of the Winchesters ask them about a priest outfit in their truck and Charlie jokes that they have a brother who is a priest named Chandler. It was an in-joke for CW fans. Only Jeremy Carver didn't get that it was a joke and wanted to write the character of their brother who was a priest. In the end, Jeremy London agreed to come on the show and do the part and thus the little joke turned into a full blown fan-favorite character.
Here, have a picture of Chandler, as played by Jeremy London.

Charlie is the younger of the identical twins. He is not so smart, but he is kind and good at his job and loves his siblings more than anything. He is charming and fun and sometimes trigger/explosive happy, but he always gets the job done and he is good at following orders. I kind of see Charlie as the way Dean would have been on the job, if he hadn't had to take care of everyone and everything his whole life. After Chandler left to join the priesthood, Frannie screamed at Charlie to get in the truck, and Charlie got in the truck. Now he hunts with Frannie and he really, really loves it, except, you know, his sister is buckets of crazy. Well, maybe not buckets of crazy.
The majority of my fan-fic is about Charlie (which I only realized when I was flipping through it to see what I could post that would introduce you to the characters.) What can I say, I love Charlie! He is my OTH - One True Hunter - not to be confused with my One True Husband, which is Joaquin Phoenix. I even wrote Charlie het...yes, I wrote HET!
Here have a picture of Charlie, as played by the delicious Jason London.

As for The Mulvaney family history - Their father was a hunter, as was his father before him. Go read the opening scene to the episode "D'Yer Maker" which is set during Season Four between "Monster Movie" and "It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester".
"D'Yer Maker" write-up - scroll down to the Quotes section and read the first bit, it's The Mulvaney family history...In fact, read all the quotes, it'll give you great insight into The Mulvaneys.
And, if you like zombies, have the behind the scenes write up of how Supernatural and The Mulvaneys ended up doing promos for Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide. This will give you all kinds of insight into these characters and the awesomeness they bring to Show.
The Mulvaneys take their zombies seriously.
In regards to SPN episode 6.01 - Basically, I was just bored by The Campbells. I think they didn't have enough time to really introduce them properly, which is why they should have left them for another episode. You meet The Mulvaneys on Show and in the first five minutes, you LOVE them. (Who just shouted out that Super Pretend Natural isn't real? Who said that?!)
It's just The Mulvaneys kick ass and The Campbell Cousins bored me. Watch me eat my words when by like Christmas, I'm running around writing Campbell/Winchester slash left and right and declaring my undying love for Christian Campbell. <--I can't believe they named him CHRISTIAN!
Also - here, have the Super Pretend Natural Wikipedia - (for lo, it is The Awesome)
And join the community - (for lo, it has fan mixes.)
That is all.
I love them. /sigh/
