First off, I did, indeed, watch Sharknado! Thanks for the heads up to all of you who pointed it out to me! It is, hands down, the best SyFy channel movie ever made - and this is coming from me, who has watched a LOT of these movies - in that it knows exactly what it is and didn't waste any time getting there. There is a sharknado within the first ten minutes and it kept up that pace for the rest of the movie, no standing around talking for an hour - (I’m looking at you, Tornado Valley!) We were yelling out what we thought was going to happen next and it was just as predictable as all that and so terribly shot - (they would show sharks in the flooded street around the SUV, but then a second later there would be the SUV driving down streets with no water around them at all). Ian Ziering was the lead, which just makes me laugh, but I was a little disappointed there was no Jason London or Nicholas Brendon in it. Sharknado was gloriously awful and I loved it.

I also recently watched the mini-series of ‘In The Flesh’ and highly recommend it. I was worried - when I heard the theme of POV of a zombie who is becoming human again - that it would just be a rip-off of Warm Bodies, a book I loved. But it wasn’t and it was supremely different from any zombie movie I have seen before. There were so many social issues layered in the subtext; bigotry, racism, segregation, homophobia, depression, suicide, second chances. It could be heavy-handed at times but I was continually amazed at how they used the issues of recovering-zombies to run parallel with the characters’ emotional issues. There were some ‘holy shit’ moments and yet, it was also oddly uplifting. It showcased the theme of humanity - like so many zombie movies do - but in a completely different way. If you have ever had a moment in your life that you wish you could get another chance at, this mini-series will really speak to you.

Also, So You Think You Can Dance - which had a really stupid format this year, but apparently they got so many complaints from viewers that they changed it up again. Originally, when they first debuted the Top 20, I called Alexis to win this thing. I am really smitten with her - (and Maleece, but her dancing often shows her youth). But since competition began, Alexis has been a little shaky and someone else has really blown my mind on the stage - Jasmine Harper. That woman is a fucking force to be reckoned with. I am repeatedly stunned by her performances and I am changing my prediction to her as the winner. If not her, than Aaron…because heeeeeello and hotdamn! That man has chemistry like I have rarely seen on this show and he can pull of any style and jfc, YES. Plus, isn’t it about time a tap-dancer won this thing? As for the other male dancers - they are all amazing and I love them, but wow do they seem young this season. My reaction to most all the dudes besides Aaron - (to which I offer the aforementioned JFC, YES) - is that I want to give them cookies and rub their little heads. In sadder SYTYCD news…Spoiler )

I have also been enjoying this sweet new show on NBC, called ‘Camp’ - not to be confused with ‘Summer Camp’, the reality show on USA. It star Rachel Griffiths, who I love, and is about a family camp where everyone in the family comes; adults, teens, kids. It reminds me of this movie I loved as a kid with Michael J. Fox called ‘Poison Ivy’. Who remembers that movie? It’s sweet and has an odd family dramedy/teen show mix going on. Perfect summer viewing!

I was just flipping back and forth between two TV shows - one was an SVU episode where the perp was played by Michael Trucco (you know him as Anders on BSG) and A Cinderella Story on ABC Family. This is a weird enough combination as is, but Trucco also played the uncle of Chad Michael Murray’s character on One Tree Hill - so the combo of watching him on SVU and then flipping to a movie starring Chad…look, if I had been stoned, I would have thought I was watching a really messed up episode of One Tree Hill, okay?

Anyways, I saw my grandpa today.

Talk of my neat grandpa and my awesome nephew under the cut. )

In final news, Tivo has recorded another bad SyFy movie starring Jason London for me, this one is called “Snow Beast”. It also has John Schneider. So that’s on for this week sometime in my viewing schedule. I know, I have a sickness, I can't stop watching bad SyFy movies.

I didn't have to go to therapy today. I was suppose to, but they canceled because Kevin went home sick. I told him last week he was pushing himself too hard, with like a million things going on, and he was going to end up flat on his face. He must be really sick though, because I didn't know the man even knew what a sick day was, let alone how to use one.

At any rate, it is now 9pm and I have completely wasted this whole day and have done nothing productive at all. I feel bad about that.

Let's do a meme!

Saw this floating around on LJ somewheres...

Pick up the nearest book to you.
Turn to page 45.
The first sentence describes your sex life in 2012.

It smelled of stale air and shoe leather and my grandfather’s slightly sour cologne. -- Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Okay, so like what does that mean, exactly? Is it describing my partner-to-be, because it conjures up this image in my head...Moleman, and that's weird. Or is it describing said-partner's member? Just...NO.

Let's do another meme!

I saw this thing floating around on Tumbler that said...

"The cast of the last movie you saw vs The cast of the last TV show you saw - in a fight."

I ramble for a bit, because I start talking about Jason London, so I cut for space. )

Oh damn, now I want to see Matt Paxton and Jason London throw down. That would be so good for me.

So good for me.

Just popping in to say that I am still alive. I know I haven't replied to comments in like two weeks. I've been keeping up on my Flist though and that is pretty much all the energy I have. I get tired so easily. I was actually pretty sick for a few days last weekend (doctors say food poisoning, I say the flu - but seriously, on top of everything else that has been going on - suckfest). I have been feeling better, except I get so tired. Sitting up for more than an hour is exhausting. And since the doctors said not to push myself if I felt bad, it's been a lot of laying around watching TV and going out of my head (body is tired, mind is still going full tilt). I've written a lot of cracked-out stories in my head while I was laying around - now if only they would magically transfer to my computer.

Crack stories include; Castiel getting kittens and becoming obsessed with dressing them up, a fic where Dean tries to teach Cas about women but it ends up backfiring because Dean gets super jealous, a fic where Sam/Dean/Cas hunt together and um...use corporal punishment when one of them screws up on a job..and a crazy RPS fic in a Mpreg universe where people are allowed to have several spouses (really just an excuse to pair everyone with Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Shut up, my brain just works like that pretty much all the time when I'm bored.

Other things to report....sometimes I tape very bad movies that have some of my favorite actors in them - often bad C horror flicks and SyFy shows. The biggest hits on this are Jason London and Nicholas Brendon. Today the Tivo picked up two movies and I watched one this evening - my choices were "Fire Serpent" with Nicky Brendon or "The Prophecy: Uprising" with Jason London. I picked Fire Serpent. Only it accidentally taped something else. I ended up with "Basilisk - The Serpent King" starring Jeremy London. My mind was blown by this twist. Also, last night I was looking over my one and only Jeremy London RPS fic I ever wrote in my life, which I hadn't looked at in months. It is clearly some sort of sign. I just don't know what it is a sign of. As predicted, it was a bad movie but Jeremy looked good, so whatever. The evil chick was clearly evil based on her accent, though halfway through the movie she lost the accent and was American all of a sudden.

In final news - the most exciting thing to happen to me even if my life weren't lameass right now - NCIS:LA IS CROSSING OVER WITH HAWAII FIVE O!!!!!!!!! If you said to me, "Hey, Dodger, who is the hottest chick on TV right now?" - I would say, "Kensi from NCIS:LA...no, wait, Kono from H5O...no wait, I can't decide!!! But you know what would be awesome? If they were on a show together. If they like stood next to each other and kicked ass together and chased bad guys together and wore awesome boots together and rode motorcycles together and made out with each other."

AND NOW....THOSE THINGS ARE COMING TO MY TV!! (hopefully they will actually ride motorcycles together - my little heart would be so happy!)

It's going to be utter stupid ridiculous crack.

I am so excited.

That is all.

Can you guess which of these people is my hunter-boyfriend?

This is SuperPretendNatural. It is a fan-fic-ish virtual-season-esque thing that [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr and [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm totally came up with. Basically it's just Supernatural with a few minor tweaks and couple additional young hunters for the boys to play with. Also, I love it. If you didn't know. It is possible, however, that having been hanging around while they were coming up with the idea, that I possibly - possibly mind you - was brainwashed to think it is TOTALLY REAL!!

CUZ IT'S TOTALLY REAL!

Anyway, when they set up [livejournal.com profile] spretendn, they asked me to make some wallpapers for them of the cast. I was glad too because this was back when I had the awesome cool photo program - oh Adobe Photo Deluxe, I miss you. I made several variations, using the cast pics they gave me, with different styles of background. And I was just looking at them and I thought, "Hey, I can post some of these to the LJ community"...so I am off to do that.

Thought I'd share with you too.

Characters - (top left to right) - Rachel Nieland, Jem Manners, Charlie Mulvaney, Frannie Mulvaney, Chandler Mulvaney
(bottom left to right) - Bobby Singer, Lilith's Agent, Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Ellen Harvelle and Ruby (#2 of 3).

Played by the actors of Valarie Rae Miller, Sprague Grayden, Jason London, Leah Cairns, Jeremy London, Jim Beaver, Martin Cummins, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Samantha Ferris and Annabeth Gish.

Look here - Sam, Dean and Friends - with cool backgrounds - it's totally art! )

Also, today I watched the first half of a bad SyFy movie called "Area 51" starring Jason London. He wore a military uniform, you guys. Uniforms - unf. (I saw one a few weeks ago where he was a cop, but sadly no uniform. He did drive a Jeep that he clearly stole from Jem though. And he had a gun, and wore sunglasses and a Henley that he clearly stole from Dean - so that was good). Anyway, his character talked about how he accidentally shot himself in the foot. LOL, cuz Charlie so would do that. But you guys! HIS GUARD DUTY PARTNER WAS MEG 2.0 FROM SUPERNATURAL!

SEE! IT ALL COMES FULL CIRCLE!

Alright, I'm done talking crazy at you.

Here - have this Winchester Family wallpaper too.

And now that I have you all on the edge of your seat...let me ramble at you about more things that I insist are real - BECAUSE THEY ARE! (Things I believe to be real - As All World Turns including Sam/Rob and Misha/Richard 4evah! 5 X Everything is a real boy band and Jared and Chad are actually on The Mickey Mouse Club. And The Mulvaneys & Co are really on Show!) Clearly, I'm watching a different show than all of you, because my Show has The Mulvaneys and they are awesome cool and even The Winchesters think so.

I love them. /sigh/

And now...The Mulvaneys. )

In regards to SPN episode 6.01 - Basically, I was just bored by The Campbells. I think they didn't have enough time to really introduce them properly, which is why they should have left them for another episode. You meet The Mulvaneys on Show and in the first five minutes, you LOVE them. (Who just shouted out that Super Pretend Natural isn't real? Who said that?!)

It's just The Mulvaneys kick ass and The Campbell Cousins bored me. Watch me eat my words when by like Christmas, I'm running around writing Campbell/Winchester slash left and right and declaring my undying love for Christian Campbell. <--I can't believe they named him CHRISTIAN!

Also - here, have the Super Pretend Natural Wikipedia - (for lo, it is The Awesome)

And join the community - (for lo, it has fan mixes.)

That is all.

Firstly, Fandom news - look I'm branching out in the world of LJ. I joined the Star_Trek newsleter and the Star Trek RPS Comm. Just to mix it up with my SPN. And because, Space Cowboys! [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr, [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm, I blame the Starship Impala re-read, thank you.

I also joined the Glee newsletter and several fic communities. For one, because - Glee! For two, because - Puck! And for three, because I have fic to post soon.

I made a few new icons (Steve Carlson's boots and Dodger from Oliver & Co.) and ransacked the internet for a ton more (Lost, Ian, Glee, SPN, RPS). Sadly, I still don't have a decent Chad Michael Murray icon. I tried to make one but all my CMM pics are pixel-ated all wrong and I can't seem to make it work. Fear not, I will prevail.

Over the holiday weekend, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm came to visit. We watched Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 13. I say, who doesn't love Basher? Don Cheadle - yes. Accent - yes. Slightly British-punk clothing style - yes. Explosives - hell to the yes.

It also never ceases to amaze me that all those years ago, my then 14 year old cousin, convinced me to love Scott Caan with him. He had the biggest man-crush. I'm sure he's gotten over it. I haven't.

[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth brought me birthday presents. Whiffle Ball for my Nintendo DS (I have finally mastered the pitching. Am still working on the batting.) The wonderfully horrible movie "Axe" starring Jason London, some chicks and some crazy serial killer. I look forward to its awfulness and his lickable, lickable-ness. And finally, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I loved the music in this! God, I am such a sucker for musicals. And I am totally crushing on Neil Patrick Harris right now. Between this and Glee, I want to take that boy home. Immediately. And do dirty bad things to him. Plus, a duet.

And after the initial shock of the ending, I was like, "Hmm, that makes so much sense. It's all twisted and delicious." Nathan Fillion says in the behind-the-scenes, something to the effect of "What did you think was gonna happen? You should know better by now."

The Musical commentary was genius. Most notably, Nathan sings a song called "I am better than Neil", and then Neil and Nathan and Jed Whedon sing a song all about the video game they played together while filming the show (Nathan is such a gaming geek, how am I only discovering this about him now?). And at the end, they may slip a line in a song that basically says "If you've made it through this musical commentary, you are a f-ing nerd."

Thank you so so much, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth. Kisses and Smooshies.

Also, the nephew came over Sunday night and slept over. We watched Backyardigans before bed (he's 4). I had never seen that show before. It was adorable and something I could stand to sit through again, unlike most of the shows approved by his parents (we watched every episode of Scooby-Doo that we own, twice now, and I keep forgetting to record more Superwhy!, so Backyardigans was a nice treat.) They sing in it and during one song my nephew throws up his hands and declares "I'm gonna have this song in my head for like a week."

In the morning, he got out his Big Wheel that was too big for him last year. He has finally mastered it but now I'm wishing I bought him a regular bike. Why do you sit in like a half-laying down position on the Big Wheel? It can't possibly be comfortable. Then my cosuin brought her boys over and they ran through the crazy sprinkler we got this year. It's a long tube with little spouts on it that wiggle back and forth in a sweeping arch, several of them, and sprays, literally, everywhere. It was really not hot enough, but three kids between the ages of 4 and 6, didn't really notice.

Then we went and saw Shrek 4 and no matter how many times I see them, the Dronkey babies squish my insides. As does Puss-in-Boots' big giant eyes. Plus, Jane Lynch and Jon Hamm as Ogres! They can make Shrek movies until I die and I would be quite happy, thank you. (Hmm, maybe I want a dronkey baby icon?)

Hope everyone else's weekend was spectacular!
