Marchin On.

This afternoon I was in the living room and I looked out our big front windows and saw that the sky was this wall of dark grey mass, and yet the sun was shining beautifully down on everything in an almost surreal way and the trees were blowing in the wind just enough to send a light shower of falling leaves down.
It was gorgeous. I wished I had a camera so I could step outside and take a picture of the perfect autumn day.
Then I went and took a shower, leaving the bathroom light as the only light on in the whole house. When I was done, I opened the bathroom door and was met with complete blackness, as black as night. I went into the living room and looked out and it was like nighttime outside. At 3 in the afternoon.
I went back in the bathroom and did my hair and whatnot and came back out and it was light again, but grey with no sun. And it was snowing.
Yes, I said SNOWING. Pretty steadily and sticking to the ground. After about 15 minutes of that, it was raining. And after about fifteen minutes of rain, it was snowing again, only this time we had a good five minutes of nearly white-out conditions. My sister had a commitment at church at 6pm, which is about ten minutes after she usually arrives home, so fearing that the white-out would cause her to be late, she left work an hour early. It is November and she has already had her first bout of leaving work early due to the weather. We didn't even make it to Thanksgiving this year before we got snow. That does not bode well for the rest of the season.
And there is still snow stuck to the ground now.

matchboximpala was asking for the link to the fanvid done to OneRepublic's "Marchin On." She didn't specify which fandom, but I am assuming she wanted the SPN one. At any rate, I have both the Harry Potter version and the Supernatural version here for your viewing pleasure.
I saw this one first and it was fanfuckingtastic. Sometimes I forget how much I love Harry Potter. I literally felt like I couldn't breathe. And yeah, okay, I maybe cried a little. I am sure I was pms-ing or something.
On a personal note: I want to scoop Fred and George up and hug them until I die. Also, I am not tearing up. Nope.
Then I saw the SPN vid - (and there were a few options on youtube but I think this is the one that was floating around fandom rec lists awhile back) - and I was all, "No! That song belongs to Harry Potter!" but then I watched it and...wow. Okay, just...it's beautiful. And yeah, okay, I maybe cried a little. Shut up, I am a girl, I have boobs, I can cry if I want too!
BROTHERS!!
I really love this song quite a ridiculous bit as well.
Oh crap. I'm crying again. Son of @$%!
Seriously, snow on the mother@!&*%#@ ground, peoples.

I am so not ready for winter yet.

Date: 2011-11-11 05:34 am (UTC)This is the season in which I am most happy and comfortable, able to sleep under blankets and wear sweaters and jackets and not sweat all day and all night. I am cheerful in cool weather.

Date: 2011-11-17 07:31 pm (UTC)lol The other day I came out of the shower again to find it pitch black in the afternoon and my brain immediately went, "Willy Wonka Factory of Weather." Luckily it was just raining that time.
I love the autumn weather but not the winter. I hate winter. It's harder for me to get out of the house and though I do love a good snuggle under the blankets with the cats, eventually I have to get out of bed and it is so freaking cold. Really, idk why anyone ever settled in Michigan in the first place.

Date: 2011-11-17 07:38 pm (UTC)I do think snow is beautiful, I just don't look forward to how long our winter lasts. Of course, I get upset if there isn't snow for Christmas, so...yeah. Oh, pictures - you had a gorgeous picture of the graduate library in the snow awhile back.
My sister used to have a camera before she got her Iphone. I wonder if she still does. I should find out. I miss taking pictures.

Date: 2011-11-14 03:41 am (UTC)This afternoon I decided to watch Hachi: A Dog's Tale while I was working on a project and the project went ignored as I got completely sucked in. I bawled my eyes out. If I actually *knew* Jared Padalecki, I'd do everything in my power to prevent him from seeing that movie.
Back to catching up on my flist now. It's been a few days, because I logged in briefly Friday evening and in my inbox was a posting that spoiled Friday's episode for me, so I logged back out and didn't want to return til I had watched it.
urgh.

Date: 2011-11-17 07:57 pm (UTC)I didn't know what "A Dog's Tale" was so I went and looked it up and yeah, neither Jared nor my sister should watch that. Have you ever seen "8 Below" about the dogs left stranded in Antartica? My sister bawls every time (I cried the first time and then again when we stupidly researched the true story behind it and found out that not as many dogs lived as in the movie).

Date: 2011-11-17 08:03 pm (UTC)That Harry Potter vid makes me want to do something, idk...like stand up and salute or something. It's unreal.
There is just something about the way Sam and Dean just get each other that will always be beautiful.
I am sorry you got all choked up (except not really because if I have to be crying like a girl then so do you!). Have a tissue. /hands over tissue/

Date: 2011-11-17 08:43 pm (UTC)We had, like, six months of snow last year, so it can just keep away for as long as possible, no worries. I won't even complain if there's no snow in Christmas, I promise!
Now I want to watch that HP vid again and get all choked up. Thanks for the tissues. *dabs at eyes*

Date: 2011-11-17 08:56 pm (UTC)Do you want to hear something that will cheer you up?
Over the weekend, myself/the sister/the bff had a friend in to visit and the four of us all watched a shitload of Dark Alec and Castiel-season five (my sister called it Dark Alec Con 2011 and Cas!Con 2011). She asked her Flist for recs of stories featuring both Alec and Castiel and no one had anything for her.
But I did!!! I printed out that fic you wrote me and passed it around the living room and we all fangirled out like big dorks over it. My sister said it was the convention's fanfic contest and you totally won. To be fair, your fic was the only entry but still - YOU RULE!!
I have to go eat a chocolate taco now. Hope things pick up for you, baby! /kiss/

Date: 2011-11-18 07:06 am (UTC)I should totally do a Cas!Con and a Dark Alec con with the roommate, that sounds awesome. :) And yay, I won the fanfiction contest! :D
Mmm, chocolate taco sounds delicious and strange at the same time. Hope you enjoyed it! And thanks for the cheering up, it helped a lot. *smishes*

Date: 2011-11-17 11:56 am (UTC)I'm dreading the snow coming. :( I so don't wanna drive in it. So far we've been really lucky and every time it's been in the forecast it's missed us. I feel bad for the people who are getting it, but I'm damned happy it's not me. :)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that this is the worst it gets for ya'll.

Date: 2011-11-17 08:09 pm (UTC)Those vids were awesome. I am always in awe of vidders who can pull that much emotion out of their viewers. I want to fight evil wizards and demons now. (okay, I wanted to do that before these vids but now I want to do it with this song as my theme song!)
I can't imagine having a driving job and having to deal with snow every day. I like snow from Thanksgiving until New Years and then it isn't pretty anymore and it should go away! It has snowed lightly a few times this week but nothing that stuck to the ground and nothing like that first snow. But it's coming, I know it is.

Date: 2011-11-21 12:05 pm (UTC)I like snow from Thanksgiving until New Years I agree! It's like the perfect outdoor decoration. By mid January I'm done with it.
