My obligatory I Voted selfies! I usually don’t have one of these pics because I tend to vote absentee. But there was a clerical error/kerfuffle with both mine & Sis’ absentee ballots not coming for some reason, so by the time we got it sorted, it was too late. We ended up squeezing in our votes in-person between the drs & the dentist. Upside, I got a sticker this way and like, James Marsters (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is offering a personalized reply over on Twitter, to anyone who tweets their voting sticker selfie at him. I mean, I’ve met the man, that should be enough, but I don’t care, I’m tweeting my selfie at him anyways! Also, I could not have been representing the nerd & geek communities any harder, because I showed up to vote carrying my Rogue One bag and wearing my Jayne Cobb ‘Fighting Elves” shirt & my Gryffindor hat!

Sadly, I’m not wearing the hat here, you can’t see my bag, and you can’t tell that is my Fighting Elves shirt

A convo with one young adult I know who didn’t vote. )

Anyways, that was my Election Day ramble. Excuse me while I go see if James has gotten to my tweet yet!

So, for Thanksgiving this year, we are doing nothing. My little brother decided that it was bullshit that he never gets to see his wife and she never gets to see the kids, so since she has two days off, she's making a small meal for the four of them and they are staying in their pajamas and they are not leaving the house or going anywhere. Which gave us a good excuse to say that we weren't going to do Thanksgiving with our parents either, since the kids won't be there or anything. We know we're going to have to make up for it at Christmas, but for right now it feels awesome to have four days in a row to just hang out, me and Sis. We got all eight of the Harry Potter movies used on DVD and we are going to spend the entire weekend doing nothing but watching Harry Potter, which is awesome!!

Now as you can see, it is Thanksgiving in Smurf Village. Papa Smurf and I have even sent special Thanksgiving banquets to the off-laying areas, like the island, the mountain and the moon. Even though we are a communist dictatorship, we like to keep our smurfs happy, so they will be productive for us. If you notice in the first picture, on the left-hand side there are pilgrim costumes for the smurfs to wear, and if you look closely in the second picture you can see a Smurf wearing one of those costumes.

While we're here, I'd like to take a minute to focus on all the Native Americans. This holiday is kind of bullshit, tbh. I'd give up pumpkin pie if it meant the Native Americans weren't struggling so hard, so let's remember them when we eat today. Here is a link for where you can donate directly to the people of Standing Rock, to help their fight to keep pipelines away from their water.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I am thankful for each and every one of you!

I'm getting tired of making these posts. I shouldn't be making another post like this so damn soon. I'll tell you a story though - I think the first thing I ever saw Alan Rickman in was Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Now my mom was really into Kevin Costner and I, myself, couldn't have been more than 13 at the time and I remember saying to her how I was rooting for the Sheriff of Nottingham, because Robin Hood was kind of lame and the sheriff was sexy and had a cool voice and idek what all. But what I do know is that my mom got so mad at me. She wanted to talk about that movie for days and all I wanted to talk about was the sheriff and she would get so incensed. I had the same reaction when I saw Die Hard on VHS later that year and my brother was like, "But he's a terrorist," and I was all, "But a hot terrorist."

Today [livejournal.com profile] elfscribe5 put up a post about Galaxy Quest and you know, there is a moment with his character towards the end that legit makes me cry every time. If you've seen the movie, you know the part. Alan Rickman carried emotion in everything he did, even when playing an actor playing an alien fighting alongside real aliens. From Die Hard, Galaxy Quest, Quigley Down Under, Rasputin, Love Actually, Harry Potter, Dogma and everything else I ever saw him in, Alan Rickman carried himself with fucking class and style. And no one, ever, will have a voice like that again.

"It would be wonderful to think that the future is unknown and sort of surprising." - Alan Rickman

So, the whole Chicago trip turned out much different than planned. It was suppose to be 2 different fangirls, Sis' college roommate and then [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and her family. But one fangirl had classes and the other had a family emergency and College Roommate had to go out of town at the last minute - and though we missed seeing her, that worked out well because it was soon enough to cancel the hotel and stay at her handicap accessible apartment instead, saving me some serious cash. It ended up just [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth, Geek Husband and Munchy P - (who is 3 ½ now, wtf?!) So we left a little later than planned on Friday, got there, settled in, had Hiyacynth and Fam over for dinner and then sat around watching Harry Potter because we couldn’t make the very outdated Tivo work!

On Saturday, we grabbed breakfast at the diner down the street and then we went to the aquarium, where I have never been before. Hiyacynth and Munchy P joined us there. We did everything! My sister and I went through the entire place. Munchy got tired after a couple hours and they went home and The BFF went to one of the viewing areas and sat for a long while, but my sister and I kept going. There was SO much to see and I honestly could have stayed there all day. My sister was obsessed with the jellyfish and they were very cool - trippy as hell, but super cool. There were ones as small as a contact lens. And translucent ones that had a light that rotated colors in the tank, so they changed colors with the light. The seahorses - I have never seen before and they were so tiny. But they looked exactly like all the picture books I had as a kid. And the sea-dragons were even cooler. (I told Munchy those were dragons in there and he laughed and laughed at me. Auntie is so silly!). And then I got to pet a sturgeon - there was a tank you could stick your hand right inside. And we saw the otters play - (I want one!) - and the Belugas and we went and saw the dolphin show, which was adorable.

But the best part was the tank area where you went underground and the fish were on either side of you and also you could see them overhead in places too. And it should have been claustrophobic, with all those people down there and everyone talking and squeezing up to see along the glass - (this is where the sharks were as well!) - but it wasn’t. I tuned out all the human noise and just stared at the blue water lapping back and forth and watched the fish and sharks swim, like gliding, like flying, through the water, and only let in the sound of the water and the smell of it all and it was so zen and peaceful. I could have stayed there, right there, watching the blue, blue water, all day.

We went home early in the morning and - though it didn’t end up like we had planned and it will sadly be a long while before I get a chance to go back and catch up with the friends I missed - it did end up being a really nice, relaxing, pretty perfect weekend.
dodger_sister: (talky-talk)
So, I had a good weekend.

On Friday, The BFF came down, after having been sick last weekend. We finally caught up on Arrow and The Flash. I am loving Arrow, except for The Thing That Happened, which was completely needless of them. But the rest of this season has been great. There were a couple of Felicity n Roy moments that were surprising and sweet and the Oliver/Felicity stuff had me squealing like a maniac. The Sister and BFF indulged me while I rewound a few times. The Flash is okay, not great, but the combination of my daddy issues and Jesse L Martin’s face/voice/everything will keep me coming back for at least a few more episodes.

Under the cut for spaceage. )

Sadly, today The Sister came home early from work with a nasty cold and I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like someone had stripped three layers of skin out of my throat. But aside from getting sick, a pretty nice weekend, all around. How were all of your weekends?

So, I’ve started seeing a counselor for my health anxiety, which causes me anxiety in and of itself, since I don’t like talking about my anxiety. But anyways, I had my second appointment today and I realized I never shared with you all what happened in my first session.

Discovering Fangirls under the cut. )

So, that was how I discovered that my counselor is a Dean/Cas girl. When she gave me ‘homework’ this week, I said, “This better not get in the way of my fanfiction time,” and she said, “There is never enough fanfiction time.” True story.

Dream On.

Let's talk about a crazy dream I had a few nights ago. It's been awhile since I wrote one of these up - I suspect it will seem even stranger on 'paper'.

It started with my family returning from vacation and my mom wanting me to go to dinner with everyone and I was like, "I just spent 3 weeks in the car with you people, I don't need to go to dinner with you too." I went in my room and there were suddenly these bats - (but they also looked kind of like owls, idek) - outside my window, pecking against the glass. I was freaked, cuz bats freak me, but I thought, "They can't get in, it's okay." But then they chewed through the screen, bursting through the glass. I screamed and ran out. When my dad went to check, the room was completely full of bats. They weren't scared of people, so they would perch right on you and you had to hold really still, because if they got startled, they'd bite and you'd get rabies and die.

This dream also involves scientists, Harry Potter, my friend K, Teen Wolf and graphic TV sex. )

I rewound one more time. And then I woke up.

Yep. IDEK. The next night I had a dream that entailed myself, some kids I went to junior high with, the Leverage crew, the Friends, a smattering of X-Men, an evil military and some candy bars.

Ugh. I haven’t put any of these up in months. I have a document where I keep track of them all, but for some reason, I haven’t actually posted any in a long while. Apologies up front for the spam to follow.

Here is my approximate word count for the month of July.

July, 2013
Week One: 1,400 words of Lost Girl fic.
Week Two: 1,350 words of Dean & Cas fic. Completed. (already posted!)
4,150 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
1,150 words of Avengers Fic-For-Kids.
Week Three: 1,700 words of Avengers Fic-For-Kids. Completed. (already posted!)
2,150 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
Week Three: 1,050 words of Melissa McCall fic. Completed.
Week Four: 1,050 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.

14,000 words written in July!

Fics posted in July, 2012. )

Huh, this looks like the month I started my very first Lost Girl fic ever. I think this is the first new fandom I’ve written in this year.

So, I had a pretty awesome weekend! My glasses came in, for one, so I am no longer straining my eyes. Then I had therapy, whatever, but after I got home, The BFF and I watched The Avengers (Science!Bros FTW!), which was happy-making. But then, best of all, was that on Saturday [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth + Husband & Munchy P (who is 2 ½ now and talking up a storm about everything!) came for a visit. We hung out, grilled out (The BFF is still the Master Of The Grill), Munchy played in the wading pool, then we watched some Community. And on Sunday we all went to the zoo! I haven’t been to the zoo in 6 or 7 years, so this was nice.

Goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo. How about you, you, you? You can come too, too, too. We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo. )

My sister had Monday and Tuesday off as well, but those were less exciting days and I accidentally watched World War Z and it would be another 500 words if I went into how much that sucked, so No, Nope, Nonono, that’s a whole different post. Suffice to say, if you loved the book, DON’T SEE THE MOVIE. It’s okay, I have now made my life better and cleansed that shit from my brain by watching copious amounts of A-Team fanvids. (I could explain why but let’s just go with “Because I <3 Face & Murdock, shut up!”).

How were your weekends?
dodger_sister: (criminal minds)
Last week The BFF and I were in the car and she had a milkshake and she goes, "This is too thick and hard to drink in the car," and I said, "So what you are saying is that it is hard and thick?" And she goes, "Yes. It is hard and thick and I am sucking it into my mouth." And then we both busted out laughing because we are that mature. What?

Anyways, sometimes on the weekend I catch reruns of Criminal Minds. I recently saw the one where in the past the two kids are held by this killer and they try to escape and only one of the boys makes it and leaves the other behind. And he has always carried that guilt with him about what happened to that other kid. Who knows this episode? Every time I catch it, I end up watching the whole thing just for the scene at the end between the two boys, who are all grown up now. It's a great little moment. Is it weird that I ship those two guys? Because I do. I ship the two guest stars of the week with each other. It's just a very compelling connection between them.

In other CM news, I was wondering if the storyline where Reid is on crutches took place because Matthew Gray-Gubler had a broken leg. So I went to look it up and apparently he like completely dislocated his kneecap on the dance floor. And the doctors told him that 40 years ago this kind of injury was met with amputation, because there was just no recovering from it, especially because the cartilage was completely shredded. And like none of his leg was attached to any other part of his leg? As it stood, they wanted him to go to Norway and have some experimental surgery. They weren’t sure he’d ever get full use of his leg back. The interview I read was from a year after the fact and he said even then he was limited to ‘walking’ as his only physical thing; still no running, dancing, etc, and how the Criminal Minds writers had to work around that for the season. Luckily, he has gotten full use back now.

In final news, a little while back I was watching ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’ and made this comment to The BFF…Spoilers for Deathly Hallows and Hunger Games' Mockingjay. )

Which leads me to how I intend on finally putting up some Hunger Games fic, hopefully tomorrow, but certainly by this weekend.
dodger_sister: (star trek)
So, a few weeks back The BFF and I found this great coney place we had never tried before. It was kind of funny though, because that week we had spent at least three hours on the phone talking to each other and then two more hours that afternoon when she came down and then two more hours at dinner and we never ran out of things to say. It’s pretty awesome actually. I swear, we spent most of that time talking about Jensen & Misha and their stupid faces and how they ruin everything! Fuck those guys and their beautiful awesomeness.

Which leads me to this story, where I spent all of therapy on Tuesday talking to C and then called her on Wednesday to tell her something else. And C went into work the next day and told K, “I was so excited to see a message from her on my phone. I haven’t gotten one in so long,” and K goes, dead-serious, “Wait…didn’t you girls just see each other on Tuesday?” and C yells at him, “We had more things to say, okay?!”

Anyways, my sister was out of town this weekend and The BFF and I spent Friday at our coney place and then catching up on Arrow - (OMG, “But I love him! He’s my man!” is the greatest Arrow moment EVER!) - and getting really silly up in here. Saturday we went to see Star Trek and then got subs and came back home to watch some Bob’s Burgers - (Kristen Schaal was perfectly cast as Louise, right?) - and then watch Thor again, mostly for Agent Coulson reasons. Today we spent the afternoon dinking around on our devices and watching some “You Live In What?” and then Deathly Hallows.

On the Star Trek front….AWESOME. It gave me everything I wanted from that movie. The action, the humor - (the best being all the Kirk/Spock/Uhura stuff) - the emotional moments which felt more poignant this time around but I mainly think it was just different kinds of emotional moments. Major Spoilers. ) Plus, Kirk in this movie can literally be paired with anyone; Kirk/Bones, Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Spock/Uhura, Kirk/Carol, Kirk/Bones/Carol, Kirk/John Harrison, Kirk/Entire Starfleet Academy, but that last one’s a given.

My final thoughts on Star Trek are this: I was never that into the original series, but I remember at a very young age really liking Scotty the best. I don’t know what my exact feelings were towards him and I certainly was too young to have words to put to that feeling, but it was mostly just, “That’s my favorite guy!!”. Now, as an adult, with all the words at my disposal, I still look at Scotty and say, “That’s my favorite guy!!”.

So last night, the internets informed me that yesterday - May 2nd, 2013 - was the 15th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. Like, apparently in the canon timeline, the battle began just as the clock rolled over to May 2nd, 1998, 15 years ago. (1998 was 15 years ago, you guys. What even.) Harry Potter has never been a major fandom for me, but it's one of those things that every time I go back to it, I just have a lot of Feels all over again. And I am absolutely positive that if the ex-bff and I were still friends, we'd be having some post-anniversary celebration Harry Potter-themed party today. She was a major fan. Anyways, I spent about an hour before bed watching some Harry Potter vids and I thought I'd share two of them now. In memory of all things Harry Potter, even though it's a day late.

Hallelujah & We Are Young. )

All this thinking about Harry Potter has made me happy. You know, I had a lot of post-series ideas while I was reading the books and then she did the jump forward at the end of Deathly Hallows and it kind of ruined my taste for it. But now, my mind is turning over a few ideas and idk, maybe I'll end up writing some Harry Potter one of these days. Something outside of the Burrowing 'verse even. Maybe give George as close to a happy ending as he can get without Fred. Or some fics about Teacher!Neville. As if I need more story ideas.

So my word count for November was excellent. It seems after that whole ‘15,000 words in one month’ thing, that I’m suddenly breaking 10k again. I guess this means I will have to up my word count goals come 2013. I think the craziest thing I worked on in November was not the Hawaii Five-O fic wherein Steve is an angsty recluse and Grace is a faux-goth punk teenager (which actually was kind of fun to work on and I hope to go back to it, I liked writing Grace a lot)…but in fact, the strangest thing that happened writing-wise in November was that I wrote J2. I kind of thought I was mostly over that pairing and yet, I wrote two J2 fics last month. And they were for a fic meme, which I have only ever participated in one before, but this one was so inspiring, I couldn’t resist.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

November, 2012
Week 1/2: 2,150 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.
Week One: 750 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.
Week Two: 1,450 words of Secret Crossover fic.
600 words of Hawaii Five-0 Grace fic.
Week Three: 800 words of J2 Schmoop fic. Completed.
1,500 words of Jensen fic. Completed.
600 words of Dean/Cas PWP.
Week Four: 4,000 words of Secret Crossover Fic.

11,850 words written in November!

Fics posted in Novembers past. )

The best thing that has happened in December, writing-wise, is that I finished The BFF’s fic! My plan is to post it during like the second week of January. Since I finished that story, I have just been writing a bit here and there on some Dean/Cas things I have sitting around, but not really pushing myself to hard. I figured after a 25,000+ fic, I could take it easy for a while.
dodger_sister: (fanfic)
My word count for the month of June! I almost came in with my lowest numbers yet this year, but I pushed myself on the last day of the month and went over the edge. I was at 3,100 words on the 30th of June and I sat down to finish the story I had started earlier that week. By the time I went to bed, I had written that story and another story - a total of 2,600 words for the day. I didn't do enough on The BFF's fic this month but I did finally write another piece in the Burrowing 'verse for Harry Potter. I'd been wanting to do that for about four years now. I also completed my first Leverage fic ever! Who would have thought that the first Leverage fic I finished would turn out to be an Eliot-Parker friendship fic? Also, not my first X-Men fic ever, but my first one in the subgenre of 'First Class' was completed this month. All in all, a pretty diverse month, even for me.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

June, 2012
Week One: 950 words of X-Men: First Class fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Two: 1,050 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Three: 600 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Four: 2,050 words of Wee!Weasley Harry Potter fic. Completed.
1,050 words of Leverage Eliot-Parker fic. Completed.

5,700 words written in June!

On a side note: 41,800 words so far this year!

Fics posted in Junes past. )

So far this month I have started a new Leverage fic and written some Falling Skies fic. I have so many thoughts about Falling Skies, I need to make a post. We will just say that I wrote some Tom Mason/Dan Weaver fic and it got weird and though I really like it a lot actually, I am not sure I am brave enough to post it. I would probably have to make a new 'kink' tag for it. Let's just leave it at that. (Now all I have done is intrigued you all, haven't I?)

Happy Birthday to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] shirebound!!! Hope it was a wonderful day full of wonderful things, darling!

Since [livejournal.com profile] shirebound is a friend I made through my sister's Lord of the Rings fandom days, I thought I would now share a story about me, The Lord of the Rings and my sister. Knowing my sister the way you do, [livejournal.com profile] shirebound, I think this will amuse you.

See, older siblings boss you around a lot and always take the last brownie based on some rule I am sure they made up called 'seniority' - but then they do awesome things like this and it's all good.
dodger_sister: (weather)
This afternoon I was in the living room and I looked out our big front windows and saw that the sky was this wall of dark grey mass, and yet the sun was shining beautifully down on everything in an almost surreal way and the trees were blowing in the wind just enough to send a light shower of falling leaves down.

It was gorgeous. I wished I had a camera so I could step outside and take a picture of the perfect autumn day.

Then I went and took a shower, leaving the bathroom light as the only light on in the whole house. When I was done, I opened the bathroom door and was met with complete blackness, as black as night. I went into the living room and looked out and it was like nighttime outside. At 3 in the afternoon.

I went back in the bathroom and did my hair and whatnot and came back out and it was light again, but grey with no sun. And it was snowing.

Yes, I said SNOWING. Pretty steadily and sticking to the ground. After about 15 minutes of that, it was raining. And after about fifteen minutes of rain, it was snowing again, only this time we had a good five minutes of nearly white-out conditions. My sister had a commitment at church at 6pm, which is about ten minutes after she usually arrives home, so fearing that the white-out would cause her to be late, she left work an hour early. It is November and she has already had her first bout of leaving work early due to the weather. We didn't even make it to Thanksgiving this year before we got snow. That does not bode well for the rest of the season.

And there is still snow stuck to the ground now.

Other things...[livejournal.com profile] matchboximpala was asking for the link to the fanvid done to OneRepublic's "Marchin On." She didn't specify which fandom, but I am assuming she wanted the SPN one. At any rate, I have both the Harry Potter version and the Supernatural version here for your viewing pleasure.

There's so many wars we fought, There's so many things were not, But with what we have, I promise you that, We're marching on. )

Seriously, snow on the mother@!&*%#@ ground, peoples.

WALTON GOGGINS WAS IN "COWBOYS & ALIENS", YOU GUYS!! I did not know this going in to the movie, but I saw his name in the opening credits and I made a little noise of delight. So...

JAMES BOND, HAN SOLO, WILD BILL HICKOCK, DR. THIRTEEN, SAM ROCKWELL & BOYD CROWDER RODE HORSES, SHOT GUNS AND KILLED SOME MOTHER-FUCKING ALIENS, YO!!!

Yep. Is there anything else I need to say about this movie? I think not.

And tomorrow I go see HP one last time before it leaves the theater - (apparently "The Smurfs" is showing on a bazillion screens this weekend and pushing everything else out of the theater - idk why). I have only seen HP once, but I kind of felt like it was the final movie and I should see it one more time. It was a lot to take in the last time - I think a second viewing is required. Don't worry, [livejournal.com profile] queenklu, I will be watching for Aberforth's kilt this time.

The kind of weird thing is that I am going to the movie with two of Kevin's daughters. It is only weird because I literally remember when they were born and now we are hanging out. But they are like 18 and 20 years old, so it's not like they are actually children or anything. I also get kind of nervous the first time I do something social with someone new, but I figured a movie was a good choice. And I recently met Kevin's two youngest kids when they showed up at his work and he had them come in the room to meet me. (He has six kids, for those keeping count - and thus far, I've met four of them - though technically I have met kid #3, but she was a newborn then and it was 16 years ago).

I still have some therapy stories to tell you - (there is a new cute guy at therapy and everyone there has been giving me a hard time for pointing out that he is hot) - and also some Nephew stories, because he calls me like three times a week now and wants to chit-chat. The Nephew is going to be one of those teenagers, when he grows up, that you have to constantly poke to get off the phone - (much like his father was, to my dismay).

But now I have to go read the bazillion blindfold fills ya'll posted, because apparently the way to celebrate LJ being back up, is to post porn!! I totally concur.

IN SUM: COWBOYS. ALIENS. SHIT BLOWS UP. (also, it had an awesome score).

In Other News, I saw the final /sobchoke/ Harry Potter...and I have four words for you. )

What did you all think of the movie?
dodger_sister: (trio-gildedanddusted)
HARRY POTTER, BITCHES! MIDNIGHT SHOWING!!!

Oh yeah. Forgive me typos, as it is mother fucking late and it was awesome!!!

No Spoilers here...but just let me say that my wizard boyfriend, George, is a bad-ass mother fucker and I love him. Shut up, people who are telling me he was only in the movie for ten minutes. I love him. As does his brother, Fred.

Sadly, my wizard bestest best friend, Charlie, has still never been seen, or even mentioned for that matter.

It was beautiful and wonderful and awesome. It was very well shot and photographed. There is a scene in the graveyard that was so beautiful that it had me crying and with little goosebumpy chills from both the beauty of the way the scene looked, and the emotion those kids were able to express. (Btw, hasn't Emma grown up to be beautiful?)

There were a few scenes that I distinctly remember from the books that were missing, but they were not plot pieces. They were just scenes I remember liking, but other than that, I have no complaints.

They did a great job showing the way the world had changed since Voldermort rose. The very, very first scene was terrifying and I wanted to huggle Snape and Draco, it was quite awful to watch.

I had forgotten one major thing that happened, somehow, and right before it did, I was like, "Oh no," because I remembered and then I cried. I had forgotten that all I did while reading the seventh book was cry.

It was great. The movie crowd was really good too, but there was no loud clapping when it ended. Probably because of the note it ended on.

I had fun.

I have more to say on Harry Potter in general, but I have to go to bed now.

In Sum: Dudes! They showed a trailer for Green Lantern! Ryan Reynolds, bitches! He must be so psyched, he is such a stupid GL fanboy and he has been lobbying for that part for years and he looks so mother fucking bad ass.

Yes, I do swear like a drunkard when I am excited and tired, thank you.

Goodnight.

First, my sister saw her cat today and Zippo is doing much better. My sister says the swollen stomach is way down. But Zippo still won't eat and until she does, she can't come home. Hopefully one more day of IV fluids will give her enough strength to eat and she can come home before the weekend.

My mom was apparently at the vet today to get medicine for her dog and asked to visit with Zippo. So they took her in the back and told her how Zippo wouldn't eat. My mom says, "Oh, well, last year when she had that sore in her mouth, she had to be fed with a baby spoon. She had a bib. Here let me show you." (btw, yes, last year Zippo had a sore in her mouth and we fed her with a baby spoon and a bib and then she wouldn't eat any other way for weeks, lol). But here, I can give my mom props - she made a stink over my sister's cat and then tried to help the nurses get her to eat. This makes me happy.

On the other hand...my father sent me an email today. I was afraid to open it and then when I did...it was some youtube clip of some dog doing a trick that he had been telling me about during the dinner from Hell. "here's the dog video I was telling you about - hahaha." He has no idea that he said or did anything offensive. Which is just frustrating beyond belief.

Now - I was over on Imdb.com today - (as I seem to be everyday for some reason or another) - and I saw the following things:

Dule Hill is their interview of the day - and he talks about how you can use IMDB to settle a bet on whether or not he, Dule Hill, played Bud on "The Cosby Show". So, do you know the answer? It's a cute interview and I love Dule's sexy-head and voice. Go watch it!

Trailer for the new Simon Pegg movie, "Paul". It certainly won't be "Shaun of the Dead" (nothing will), but it looks utterly ridiculous in a good way. Plus, Jason Bateman...can't have enough of him. See Paul here.

And there is a new spot out for Harry Potter. OMG YOU PEOPLES, I AM EXCITE!!!! I LITERALLY CLAPPED MY HANDS!!! See Harry Potter excitement here.

Thank you to everyone who sent me hugs and cupcakes and good wishes yesterday! I was surprised at how much better that made me feel - just to get it out there and receive so many virtual hugs in return. Seriously.

And since it is now officially Friday - HAPPY SUPERNATURAL DAY TO YOU!!!
