I didn't post yesterday because I had a long ass day at the doctor's. My primary recced me to a urologist, a dietician and another pain management clinic - (per my request they are sending me to the pain clinic my little brother used to go to, as he said they helped him a lot). Just trying to get a handle on my pain, fatigue and UTIs. I saw the urologist yesterday and I see the pain management clinic in August and the dietician in September.

Anyways, the urology clinic is the same one I went to for years and years for kidney stone issues. But I apparently haven't been there since 2003, so they had to register me as a new patient. When I got there, they told me I would be with Dr. F and I was like, "Oh, he's who I used to see back in the day." So when I got into the room, the resident comes in first and he says, "Here's funny thing for you, I just told the doctor that I was coming in to to see *Sister* and he says '*Dodger-Sister?*' and I said 'Yeah do you know her? It says she's a new patient?' and he says, 'No, she's a very old patient, ha!" I was so surprised. I expected he would remember me when he saw me, but that he pulled my first name out of the air like that was a surprise.

He came in and we talked for about 10 minutes about what is going on with me - (gave me a list of things to do to avoid UTIs and take cran pills and a plan for the future if this doesn't work and assured me that my kidney test came back good) - and then we talked for like 15 minutes about the Detroit Tigers. My poor sister was just sitting in the back of the room playing on her phone while me and the two docs talked baseball, lol. Dr. F looked good too! He's one of those guys that ages really well. If I had to cast a Hollywood actor to play him in a movie, I'd go with John Slattery (Roger Sterling from Mad Men). Slattery would be like the Hollywood!version of him, the slightly better looking version but still, Dr. F looks good!

Also, it looks like we will be taking The Nephew to the Hot Air Balloon festival this weekend. His parents are taking him in the morning and then we are meeting up with them later and hanging out, then taking him to the Kids Kingdom carnival gaming area and to get fair food and then he is staying the night. If I feel up to it, he and I can play some Monopoly in the evening. He really enjoyed it the last time. He's getting really good at strategy games.

Well, it's Tuesday and I try to post every Tuesday, but I still haven't uploaded my pictures from this weekend to my desktop - (for some reason I can't upload from my IPad to my LJ Scrapbook, IDEK, but I have to put them on my desktop and then to my scrapbook from there). So I am still not posting about my weekend excursion yet, omg. I was going to do all that tonight, but then my sister had some of her awesome geeky coworkers over to meet the new kitten because everyday when I send her pictures of what Hiccup is doing while she is at work, she will show them to all the peeps in the office and apparently two of the girls couldn't stand it and wanted to come over and see him in person. Sis cooked burgers and one of the girls brought cheesecake - (I had a wonderfully delicious piece of raspberry cheesecake) - and we all visited and played with the cats.

I was too tired after that to do much of anything, except watch some Mad Men. I can't even fathom how they plan on wrapping everything up on that show in just one episode. I mean, what is Don's ending going to be? I am also excited for the season finale of Reign, as the last episode ended on such an exciting note. I am less jazzed about AOS's finale tonight, as it has felt kind of uneven and I have not liked the Shield 2 storyline very much. I get the feeling they are doing another reboot, like they did after Capatin America 2 came out. It worked well the first time, but Idk if it can work again. Then again AoS is one of those shows that goes out with a bang and leaves you gaping, so we'll see. I have finally gotten going on Agent Carter and have one episode left and am super psyched now that Sousa and Thompson are onboard with Team Carter and that things are coming to a major head and everything has just gotten super exciting. I am really, really in love with this show and these characters and my crush on Peggy Carter had grown in leaps and bounds. I was quite bored with the first CA movie - ( I know, not a popular opinion, though I adored the second one a lot) - but I was all about Peggy Carter in that movie, and it seems I still am. More so even.

Okay, I guess that's all for a Tuesday. See the doctor tomorrow, going to see what we can make of my low stamina levels. An easy fix would be nice, but a diagnosis would at least be something.

Southland has been cancelled. Boo. I am super sad-face, you guys. What's up TNT? Why do you keep cancelling all my beloved shows? Southland is honestly the best cop show I have ever seen in my life and I love all of the characters, even when I am mad at them for something, and I am just going to miss it a hella lot. For some reason, in my head, I group Mad Men, Justified & Southland all together - probably because they are all cable shows that started up around the same time and that everyone in my household watches. And of those three, if one had to get cancelled, it probably should be Mad Men. I say this only three episodes into this season of Mad Men, but as much I love it (and I do) I feel like the characters are at such a stand still. Aside from Joan and Peggy, which character has grown as a person since season one? None that I can tell. They are all just doing the same crap behavior they've been since the start and if a character doesn't have an arc, then I kind of lose interest after awhile. (I think a lot of this is my frustration with Don right now, but still...) My point is, Mad Men keeps going and somehow Southland gets the ax.

On the Southland front, I love Dewey, I don't even care. We held off on watching this season until Justified and Being Human were finished, so we are currently four episodes away from the end and it occurs to me...Spoilers. )

Anyways, every time my sister asks me what I want to watch tonight, I say 'Southland'. Now that I know this is the end, I will probably get Leverage-syndrome and try to space it out and slow down so that it will never be over! Dammit.

In other TV news, holy shit NCIS:LA! What the hell was that? Is that how you are going to end the season? Holy crap. Deeks, omg, Sam! And Quinn! And Kensi! /clutches everyone to my chest/

I'm not gonna lie, I ship the hell out of Kensi/Deeks. Which is unusual for me. I find that I don't get that interested in the tension of 'will they, won't they' when it's the kind of relationship that most likely will at some point. So I find it odd that NCIS:LA has two major probably-going-canon ships that I adore; Kensi/Deeks & Eric/Nell. Kensi/Deeks is the canon romance I am most invested in than any other out there. And see the thing is, with shows like this, you know they are going to go there eventually and I find that tends to lessen my need for it, that craving of wantwantwant. But not with these two for some reason. I know logically that if they get together, they can't be partners anymore and that going canon with it may ruin it for the viewer (half the fun is the tension) but I still want it like woah and damn but they have been laying on the UST lately and it is So Good For Me.

But I still can't believe the season ended like that.

My icon has nothing to do with anything...but he is on a motorcycle. Hi, Dark Alec!

Random Things...

Buffy - Season Two and Season Three ramblings.... )

Hellcats - the episode with the volleyball chicks... )

Mad Men - the season finale... )

Ha! I am amused at the wide range of shows I just covered in this post.

Also, The Buffy commentaries are lame when they do them by themselves. Everyone is better on commentaries when they have someone to play off of. However, the commentary in second season, for "Innocence" I think it was, with Whedon was pretty entertaining. I think he might have been just a wee bit stoned, which surprisingly is something I encourage. At least in this instance. Stoned in regards to commentary recording = A+. He didn't mock or poke at any of the actors too much, except for Tony Head - (btw, porn name or what? Anthony-Stewart Head, fine. Tony Head? Porn star. I wish.) Anyway, Whedon kept insisting that Tony refuses to wear pants. - "See, we had to shoot from the waist up here, because Tony Head refuses to put on pants." - "All our actors are totally professional, except for Tony Head, who refuses to put on pants."

This amuses me for two reasons - 1) It leads me to believe that since Tony is the only one Whedon gives any shit to, he's really the only one worth any fun on that set. - and 2) I love it because it is a running joke everyone, (including myself), has about me. - "Call before you come over, in case I'm not wearing any pants." - "We have to go to the bank? Does this mean I have to put on pants?" But, I mean, never has anyone let themselves into my house to find me without my pants on. Except that one time. (No, really that one time.)

Also, my sister has been sick all weekend with a fever. This leads to amusing things - (not amusing that she is sick but "fever-ill sister" can be funny when randomly babbling.)

She keeps wandering around muttering, "Giles has no pants. Giles needs no pants." That probably won't stop once the fever is gone.

Also, while playing Mean Bean Machine with her - (yes, we are that cool that we play video games from the 90's.) - the following conversation occurred.

Me: Damn. I had it and then I panicked.
Sister (in a weird accent): Patience, young grasshopper, you must learn patience.
Me: Shut your hole over there, Cracky.
Sister: I prefer Mr. Miyagi.
Me: Shut your hole over there, Mr. Miyagi.
Sister: That is better, grasshopper. Now you learn.

Then she spends the better part of the next round giggling like a crazy person.

In Sum: Giles has no pants. Giles needs no pants.

So, I finally got around to watching the pilot of "Hellcats". (Now, if I can get my sister to stop calling it "Wildcats", that would be nice).

My review of "Hellcats" is as follows - "Hey, it's like watching Bring It On in several 42 minute sessions." And I'm good with that. That's right, I'll say it - I liked "Bring It On". "Hellcats" is a teen drama with really hot guys and bitter rivals and stupid angst and cheerleading stunts.

What's not to love?

I mean, I'm not rushing out to make icons and wallpapers or join a comm or anything, but it was fun.

Things of note - Tom Welling is listed only as the Executive Producer. Not producing or directing at all on this. Which, to me, means he let them give him buckets of money, in exchange for putting his name on it and sucking us Incestuous CW Orgy Cult Lovers into watching it.

Which is silly, cuz they had me at "cheerleaders". (For the record, I was never a cheerleader in my life and I hated the ones who attended my brief high school stint with a fiery passion. But as a person who enjoys watching a good dance competition, I've found the area of competitive cheerleading to be a hell of lot more interesting than what we had going on in my 250 person high school, 15 years ago.)

Also, cast members - Sharpay from High School Musical! She's awesome and no longer a blonde and I love it. Welcome to The Orgy, sweetheart.
[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth's Space Husband - Chief from BSG.
Hey, it's That Guy from The OC who worked at The Newport Group.
And That Chick from Boston Public (but not the one who went on to "Heroes" and "Glee", the other one).

And returning to the Incestuous CW Orgy Cult (by which I mean, they are never allowed to leave, ever) Hot Principal from Buffy's season 7 and Psycho-Pretend-Brother from One Tree Hill's season 4! <--I spent the entire episode trying to figure out who that guy was and why I was afraid he was going to serial kill someone.

In Sum: Fun!

PS: Jonathan from Buffy/Doyle from Gilmore Girls has recently been on "Mad Men". I was most excited to see him.

PS2: Watching the Angel episode with the submarine, my sister pauses it to declare - "You know what would be a good movie? Zombies on a submarine."

To which I replied - "That's what they should call it too. Zombies On A Submarine! With the exclamation point."

That is all.
