HARRY POTTER, BITCHES! MIDNIGHT SHOWING!!!

Oh yeah. Forgive me typos, as it is mother fucking late and it was awesome!!!

No Spoilers here...but just let me say that my wizard boyfriend, George, is a bad-ass mother fucker and I love him. Shut up, people who are telling me he was only in the movie for ten minutes. I love him. As does his brother, Fred.

Sadly, my wizard bestest best friend, Charlie, has still never been seen, or even mentioned for that matter.

It was beautiful and wonderful and awesome. It was very well shot and photographed. There is a scene in the graveyard that was so beautiful that it had me crying and with little goosebumpy chills from both the beauty of the way the scene looked, and the emotion those kids were able to express. (Btw, hasn't Emma grown up to be beautiful?)

There were a few scenes that I distinctly remember from the books that were missing, but they were not plot pieces. They were just scenes I remember liking, but other than that, I have no complaints.

They did a great job showing the way the world had changed since Voldermort rose. The very, very first scene was terrifying and I wanted to huggle Snape and Draco, it was quite awful to watch.

I had forgotten one major thing that happened, somehow, and right before it did, I was like, "Oh no," because I remembered and then I cried. I had forgotten that all I did while reading the seventh book was cry.

It was great. The movie crowd was really good too, but there was no loud clapping when it ended. Probably because of the note it ended on.

I had fun.

I have more to say on Harry Potter in general, but I have to go to bed now.

In Sum: Dudes! They showed a trailer for Green Lantern! Ryan Reynolds, bitches! He must be so psyched, he is such a stupid GL fanboy and he has been lobbying for that part for years and he looks so mother fucking bad ass.

Yes, I do swear like a drunkard when I am excited and tired, thank you.

Goodnight.

OMG! Wasn't it awesome? I should go check your LJ and see if you have posted thoughts yet. Honestly, I felt it stood the test of a good book adaptation and as a movie in its own right. But it was 2am, so I may have been too tired to tell for sure. That's why I feel another viewing is in order. :)

I had no idea that you were such a massive Harry Potter fan. I mean, I knew that you were a fan, had written fic and told me about your George love (huh, maybe I really should've known) but just . . . not . . . this . . . big. *shakes head*

Anyway, I'm really here to let you know that I'm done with your most excellent Dean/Cas story, but I've somehow gotten bogged down with preparing for tomorrow's Saturday morning class. (Because apparently I'm a freaking adult now and actually have to teach on Saturday mornings! Aargh! *deep breath*)

But next time you hear from me, it'll be because I'll have sent your fic back. Can't wait til you post it!

And Ryan Reynolds! Love him! He is perfect for the Green Lantern (even though the early artwork did look kinda crappy - hey, it was "early artwork" after all). Very psyched to see this trailer.

/fist bump/

Well, you know, I was never in the HP fandom, but when do I not enjoy something shiny and bright? And HP is def shiny and bright. Also, really, it was a good good movie. And I was out at like 2am on a Thursday with a whole bunch of people...and my wizard boyfriend is a hottie. <--apparently I already told you how much I love him - because I totally love him.

Why would those things not make me ridiculously excited? ;) Did I mention my bf is a hottie? Seriously, the best of the HP movies by a long shot.

I got the Dean/Cas fic! Thank you! I read the email, so I am happy to see that I do not suck. I haven't opened the file yet though, because I had to go bitch about Saturday Night Fever first. Thank you for your help!

Ryan Reynolds is in his tighty whities in the trailer, so YAY to that! Also - though I grew up with John Stewart as my Green Lantern - I am psyched they decided to go with Hal Jordan and here's why...Ryan Reynolds was quoted in a interview years ago, before they were even considering a GL movie, as saying that he has been collecting GL comics since he was like ten years old and that GL is his superhero and it is the one role he would love to play more than any other, if they ever decided to make a movie. And now they are and he is playing Hal and I am so excited. That makes me believe that they will do the character justice and make it awesome!

WHAT YOU SAID! On just about everything above! (kudos on keeping it spoiler free and still squeey, btw:D)

I saw it this Wednesday, and wow, was I bouncy afterward. I loved how the twins got a moment to just show how much they care about each other. Brother love ftw!

I'm not sure I could keep any more squeeing on my part spoiler free, so I'm gonna stop now. Let me just say this: BEST HP MOVIE EVER! SO MUCH LOVE!

I'm Johnny Cash - I walk the line, baby! On spoilers, that is. ;)

I saw it this Wednesday

I knew you had seen it early, because you were wanting to squee on like Thursday morning at me and I was like, "what, how has she seen it already?"

I loved how the twins got a moment to just show how much they care about each other. Brother love ftw!

The Fred & George relationship is one of my favs in the books, even though they are minor characters, the little bit we see between them is so strong. I was waiting for the panicked moment when Fred gets back to The Burrows and finds George, and I was holding my breath, hoping they didn't gloss over it - and they didn't! It was perfect!!

BEST HP MOVIE EVER! SO MUCH LOVE!

I totally, totally agree. Oddly, the book I liked the most - Goblet of Fire - was the worst movie. Book 7 was probably my second fav book and I am so glad the movie is going above and beyond my expectations! I am torn between "Is it July yet?" and hoping it will never end. Then what will I have to look forward to? Oh, right, Narnia!!! The Hobbit!! :)

You're totally Johnny Cash! :)

what, how has she seen it already?
When was the world premiere? Because I thought it was the 17:th, but it says different things everywhere. :P

It was perfect!!
It was! I loved it so much!

*shudder* Yeah, the Goblet of Fire movie really sucked, it was so rushed and didn't have any Sirius and lacked in a lot of departments. I my opinion, the movies have gotten better and better, but then again, I haven't seen the first one in forever. Maybe it's better than I remember? Probably not, though. :P

I love that they had so much more time to really tell the story what with splitting it in two and all. Actually a very good move.

I am torn between "Is it July yet?" and hoping it will never end.
*nod nod* Yes! Exactly! *hugs HP tight* I'm going to miss it so much when it's finished.

Narnia! And the Hobbit! Yay!

I thought the second movie was the worst of all, but I didn't much care for the second book, so I wasn't all disappointed. Whereas the fourth book was my fav and then the movie was so god awful, that my heart was all broken.

The first movie was cute and fun, but it was for kids, as was the book. It was almost word for word the book too. I actually saw the first movie on a whim, cuz my cousins were all going and I was like, "sure I'll go whatever, popcorn", even though I had never read the books - and then I thought it was cute, so I read the book and was shocked at how almost exactly the same it was. Then I kept reading the books and then the movies kind of sucked, at least by comparison. The third was a great movie but seemed very different from the book.

This one blew me away! They were incredibly smart to split it into two movies, I agree.

NARNIA!!

Yeah, the second book was my least favorite one as well. The third is one of my favorites, though, so I was about as sad as you was over the forth one there. I mean, Sirius? Seriously? They managed to make him better for the fifth, though, but I'm still a bit pissed they messed that up for me.

My teacher was actually reading the first one to us in class, so I have all the names in my head with Swedish pronounciation. It's luckily wearing off, but it was weird when I started reading them in English. :P

Narnia! *bounce*

I think I need a HP icon.

The third book was great, cuz I am hardcore over Lupin, baby. And I thought the third movie was a great movie but it was a horrid book adaptation. If you had never read the books, it was easy to follow, well shot and edited - but having read the books, I didn't get so much of the characters that made the book, and the books that followed it, so good. Yes, they cut out so much of the human emotion. I know that is hard to convey from book to movie, but I felt like they lost a lot in movie three. But it was still easier to follow, much better put together than either 2 or 4, which felt like they had chunks missing. Unfortunately the chunks missing in three, were the character elements.

From: [identity profile] wolfrider89.livejournal.com
Yeah, I agree. It's a long time since I saw the third movie, but I don't recall the same feeling of "WTF?" as the forth one gave. It was so rushed, jumping in time in a way that made no sense even to those who had read the books.

From: [identity profile] dodger-sister.livejournal.com
THAT was what it was about the fourth movie that I hated - it didn't flow at all. It jumped around, and forward in time, and the scenes didn't fit together at all. It felt so badly edited. They killed my book!

If not for my terrifying fear of a possible bedbug infestation due to them crawling around theater seats (which happens! Here in NY!) I would go see this too.

I'm most interested in how they filmed the scenes in the book during which I was sort of bored, which was pretty much all the scenes in the forest in the beginning. Tents, trees, blah blah blah.

Draco is my homeboy, but his daddy is my favorite out of everybody. More Lucius!

From: [identity profile] dodger-sister.livejournal.com
Okay, I am so sorry the bedbugs thing has not cleared up for you guys in NY. Seriously. It hit Detroit pretty hard and some people in my little town have it - Little Girl Cousin got some nasty sores on her head from bedbugs this summer - but in general, we have been pretty lucky here. It is not right that it is stopping you from seeing this movie!!

You know, I was worried about all the walking, camping, researching bits too - but they did it really well. They moved through it quickly, without taking away any of the emotional turmoil that it was causing them. They still showed how it was affecting them to be away from their families and on their own and uncertain of what to do next. And they had some nice, sweet, friendship moments in there too. It was very well done. I was impressed.

It is seriously the best adaptation of the HP books they have done and that is hard, because you are right...they had a lot of stuff in book 7 that wouldn't necessarily translate well to screen.

I heart Draco so much. I kept holding out that he would have a bigger part to play in the end, or that he would redeem himself in the end somehow. I felt like they didn't use him to his full potential. Part of what caused Draco to act the way he did was his uncertainty in himself and his need to prove himself. It would have been awesome if he had decided to just do the right thing, and then actually ended up proving himself that way. And Lucius, let's not talk about my daddy-issues and how Jason Isaacs in this role brought them out of me. Okay then. ;)

As for the Malfoys in this movie...that feeling of how absolutely stuck they were in this situation - they were barely even in the movie and they conveyed this with a few flicks of their eyes and hard swallows. Seriously, if you are a Draco lover, the first scene in the movie will kill you. It was so hard to watch, I was literally afraid I wouldn't make it through the whole movie.

I need a Malfoy icon, dammit.

Steal away! It's actually a light green gradient fill layer at like 70% opacity, then a selective color layer where I messed with the magentas and reds. I'm no Photoshop pro that's for sure, I just click around and see what looks best.

My internet is sucking so bad right now, I keep trying to send this comment and it keeps telling me "incomplete" - sorry if you get this message like three times.

I used to have the best Photoshop program on my old computer before it died. I would have rocked icons so hard with it. All I have now is Paint and it blows hard. I miss being able to use opaque or layers. Hell, I miss being able to size properly.

I can see the gradual change of color in the background on this, it's very cool.

I had a really good time. It was def the best of the HP movies and they did a great job translating it to the big screen. On top of which, I got to go out with someone I don't see enough of these days and a few new people and we were out late and with a good movie crowd and it was awesome. Did The Boy enjoy it? Was he going with friends from school? You def should get to see this movie asap. It was great. But be prepared, 2 1/2 hours long, so...

Also, lots of comic book previews and Cowboys & Aliens before the movie started. And, you know, NARNIA! Oh no, I won't stop shouting about it, even when it hits the theaters. It's NARNIA!!

He did like it, a big bunch of them from school went. So you know, dangerous crowd of teen-agers! lol

Looks like I'm going wednesday night to see it. It all depends on if one of the brothers can make it wednesday or not. Also, I love movie previews. I'd say they're my favorite part of the theater experience.

The one time I was late to pick my brother up from the movies (when he was about 14), someone at the theater called the cops because he and his friends were hanging out behind the building. You know what they were doing? Chatting up chicks. When I got there and saw the cops, I was like, "Honestly officer, picking up chicks is like the best thing he could have been doing back here. If everyone had their pants on, I'm gonna call it a win. Everybody get in the car."

I get pissed if I miss the previews - how else will I know what to go spend my money on next? lol Wait until you see the trailer for Cowboys And Aliens - it looks so stupid that I am actually excited.
