Beta Cry!

Writing has been going extremely well this month. I will make a post in a few days with my word count. Right now I am in need of a beta (or betas). For various reasons, each of these fics has me questioning certain sections - probably a lot of that has to do with how fast I have turned them out.

menel's birthday is tomorrow and I wrote her two fics - (I had two ideas and I couldn't decide which one to write, so I wrote them both). I am undecided on which one I am actually going to give her for her birthday but I would like them both looked over. I'm going to put the details under a cut, in case somehow menel sees this post in the next 24 hours. In fact, I'm going to put all the story details - three SPN and one Firefly fic - under the cut.


One is a Dean/Gabriel crack-fluff-porn piece. I know, I said Dean/Gabriel. When you read the fic, you'll understand why it had to be Gabriel. It's approx. 650 words and yes, crack-fluff-porn is a genre...why do you ask? Besides the standard typos and whatnot, I want the ending looked at. I just feel a little unsteady I think, in this pairing, so a second opinion would be lovely.

The other one is about 1,300 words of dark, messed up Wincest. Yep, I said Wincest. I have versatility, it seems. And when I say dark and messed up, I don't mean in a kinky way, calm down. But it is a very dark theme. I don't want to say anymore on that lest I spoil it. I wouldn't mind an opinion on the rating for this fic, as well as whether my use of Gabriel in it is believable or not. It's so much darker than anything I am used to writing, I'm a little unsure if it works.

I also have a Firefly fic that I need look at, if anyone is interested. It's for the 50 Reasons to Have Sex challenge and I wouldn't mind having it looked over, since it's for a challenge. Mal/Jayne NC-17 porn - which is new for me. I mean, I've written Mal/Jayne but never NC-17 Mal/Jayne before. I feel pretty confident in my use of Firefly-slang, but any thoughts on that, plus typos and stuff. Also, I struggled with the actual porn and The BFF had to talk me through it and I am unsure if it was alpha-ey enough for Mal/Jayne. So I wouldn't mind someone reading it over for me.

The last fic I have is a Dean/Cas fic I am writing for Valentine's Day. It's PG and fluff and actually not quite done yet, so this particular beta I wouldn't need until this weekend or next week sometime. (look at me, making deadlines!) I have three scenes left to go. This is a rare time when I went back and added several scenes in the middle, so I am curious as to whether or not it flows alright.

Any takers? You can pick just one, you don't have to offer on all four. You would be rewarded with love and affection - you can't put a monetary value on love and affection. Also, there would be much thanking on my part.

That would be awesome, thank you! I was worried no one would jump on a Mal/Jayne NC-17 fic, the pairing is a hell of a lot more rare than you would think.

Someday I need to do a proper rec post for my favorite Mal/Jayne fics. It's hard to find ones where they are in an active relationship and yet still manage to totally stay in-character.

Dude, we've all been there. I keep thinking how I need to post some of my early Lord of the Rings fic to my LJ, because I want all my fic in one place, but it is embarrassing the things I didn't know how to write then. And my first het sex fic (Faculty - Zeke/Ms Burke) was so not good.
