Over Rock And Under Tree!

I had lots of things to report, but let's just do all the good things today.

I just got back from a trip to Chicago - (well, I got back yesterday, but I couldn't post then, because it was Bad Natural Disaster Movie Day on SyFy and I had important things to watch like "NYC: Tornado Terror"! I spent a good deal of my evening watching bad movies and writing a J2 AU Natural Disaster Movie in my head).

Anyway, I went to see [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and her new baby boy! He is three weeks old and wee and cute and perfect. Seriously, besides the fact that they are juicy delicious - I love baby toes! They are like the cutest things ever. I have great aspirations to warp this child into a total geek fan-boy - and given his kickass parents, I see this as an obtainable goal.

My sister dressed Munchy P Campbell - (I have to remember that he has a name now!) - up in ridiculous outfits and forced him to pose for her. Yeah, it has begun. [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth herself looked amazing and we had a lovely dinner with her, her husband and the baby. There was much discussion of "Deadwood" - which reminds me that I have to catch up on all the things I missed - (I believe I was on the morphine at the time we marathoned it, I slept during a lot of it). I also learned via [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth's husband that Smaug made Forbes' list of wealthiest fictional characters. Smaug beats out Bruce Wayne, but not Tony Stark. After dinner, my sister went to have a beer with her college roommate and I had serious discussions about fandom ridiculousness with The BFF while we watched House on mute - which is basically a typical day for us. :)

Of course, now my ovaries ache to reproduce and yet JDM isn't coming to Michigan this month - bummer. I hear all he has to do is set foot in your state and you can become immediately impregnated - he is just that awesome. Maybe that's an urban legend.

In Other Travel News - I think I am actually going to my friend's wedding this summer!!!!!! I had started saving my money, just in case I found a way to go, but since I physically can't go alone, I didn't figure I would get to. Today The BFF asked if I would like her to go with me, as my plus one, for my birthday gift. OMG, YOU GUYS! I have known my friend, David, since I was 19. He has been with his boyfriend for almost ten years. I love these guys and I so wanted to be there to support them. Plus, trip to Vermont! With The BFF! I am so excited. THERE AREN'T ENOUGH EXCLAMATION POINTS TO CONVEY MY EXCITEMENT.

Honestly, I was very bummed lately about my birthday in general and the state of my life. Thirty-Three is your Hobbit coming-of-age after all, and I had a list of things to choose from to do to celebrate my birthday. They were all things I can't do but would have been able to do after the surgery - (my way of cheerleading myself into having my knee surgery by reminding myself all the things I'd be able to do after I healed). I was suppose to spend my last birthday in the hospital recovering from the surgery and I had this image in my head of where I would be by the time this birthday rolled around. But then the doctor refused to do the knee surgery. As you can imagine, it has been kind of depressing.

Going to my friend's wedding by no means fixes my state of "what the hell am I doing with my life and how do I get the things I want?" - but at least I have something AWESOME to do for my birthday this year! (or, you know, a month after my birthday, which is when his actual wedding is).

So, yay all of that! I also had lots of things to say about series two of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (TOPH!) and "Camelot" (omg the second episode wtf!!!) and "Breaking In" (JUST WATCH IT!!!) and how the second episode of "Chaos" was much better and how much I love, love "Being Human (yes, the SyFy one) - but now I have to go because H50 is back tonight and from the previews it looks like it will be a Chin-centric storyline with some sideline Steve/Danny Hurt/Comfort!

ETA: OMG, H50 has started and are they seriously trying to convince me that Danny is a Yankees fan?! WTF! No. Because I can't be in love wtih someone who is a Yankees fan. Like, ever. Also, Danny would be a Mets fan - dude, for real. Whatever. Though Danny should wear tee shirts All The Time! And DID HE JUST SIGN A GIANT HEART AT STEVE?!?! And look, it's Ando from "Heroes"! Erm, I mean, this reminds me also...TIGERS WON OPENING DAY AT COMERICA PARK - THAT'S MY BOYS!!

ETA 2: The episode has ended now and omg - Danny, could you be more of a jealous little bitch over the fact that the hot waitress chick wanted to sign your boyfriend's cast? Seriously. And Chin and Kono - Cousins...my ass. Excellent episode.
