I Will Rake Your Face.

This will be a post of random.

I have been playing "Simpsons Road Rage" a little bit lately. Sometimes Groundskeeper Willie says, "I will rake your face." The first time I heard it, I didn't think he had said rake and I was all, "What kind of a game is this?!" (Simpsons hardcore kink meme anyone?) Also, I am the kind of person who talks to the video game. I swear a lot. When I am doing badly at the game, I tend to say, "I suck monkey butt." I don't know what this means or when I started saying it, but I have said it for years.

So, the other day, I opened my mouth and the words, "I suck like Jensen Ackles," just fell out of my face. Then I couldn't stop laughing. I swear, I haven't even been reading that much fic - (my inability to find time for fic reading is a complaint for another post) - so clearly my brain is just warped from years of NC-17 J2 fic. Sorry, Jensen.

Also, I have been playing "Plants Vs Zombies". That game is so addictive. In fact, I want to be playing right now - it is all my brain can think about. "Type faster so you can go play Plants Vs Zombies." It's sick. And I only have the trial and I beat it twice this weekend - cuz I played for eight freaking hours over the last two days - and I know the full version isn't extremely expensive but I can't spend a single dime until after my vacation in June. (That trip is getting so expensive, it's ridiculous). But I want to buy the full version right now because wtf, I needs it!

On my "Deadwood" viewing...

I am starting to develop a crush on Alma and I really did think that even though Seth was saying he had sent for his wife and son, that he was going to totally get it on with her while the girl was sleeping in the next room. I don't normally cheer for cheating, but I was really hoping they would Do It. Though I am still pissed at Alma for saying she was leaving and agreeing to take Trixie with her and then she didn't leave - I mean, Doc would have let Trixie die but they thought she had a way out and now she'll never get out and doesn't Alma realize that her decisions affect other people?! I also have a feeling Joannie will come to a bad end and omg, is Eddie Sawyer really a child molester or is Cy just being a dick saying that? Greatest exchange so far has been - Cy: Still got those magic hands, Eddie. Practice makes perfect - Eddie: You would know, Cy, since you give such a great handjob. heehee Also, I ship Jane with like everyone - Andy, Doc, Charlie, myself - she has some great exchanges with the preacher too. Also, she was yelling at the doc and Charlie was watching from across the way and smiling at her, cuz she was just cussing and laying into Doc and well, it's just Jane being Jane. She left at the end of my last ep, but I hope to hell she'll come back. Also, Ellsworth has my heart forever. I am always happy to see Johnny on the screen and I'm kind of loving Dan something fierce.

I had things to say about "Supernatural" - about this season and about Castiel's storyline and the ulcer that may have taken residence in my stomach - (I know, it's just a TV show, but I clearly have issues!) - but ugh, if I start talking about it, my thoughts are all over everywhere and I'll have to think about it and then I'll just have to go rock in a corner and it'll be awful. I guess I'm kind of 50/50 in that I don't really care at all and that I care so much I might throw up - is that even possible to be split in those two directions? I've got a couple of weeks - (why am I so excited about watching the Smallville finale when I don't even watch that show? I am though.) - so maybe I'll come back to SPN when I'm less freaking out.

TOMORROW IS THE HAWAII 5-O SPECIAL FANFIC EPISODE OF AWESOMENESS - I AM SO EXCITED. Thank god I have had H5O to look forward to every week this year. I never would have thought when the TV season started that I would get hooked on such ridiculousness. It stole my stupid girly heart.

Also, on The BFF's Sims - Dodger!Sim is dating Jim Kirk and guess what?! We have a baby boy named George now! heehee It makes me happy.

Can I go replay Plants Vs Zombies again now? When is July so I can afford to buy the whole damn game?

Dude, you are way more hardcore into video games than me - I can tell by the kind of games you play. I play Sonic the Hedgehog on the XBOX and Klax (there is always time for Klax!) and Simpsons Road Rage and Punchout (on the original Nintendo) and Sonic Spinball and now, apparently, Plants Vs Zombies. The hardest like role playing/first person/whatever game I have played was The Hobbit. That's hardcore, right? ;) Sometimes I play The X-Men game my sister has, but only when I am doing like a one on one fight against another player. I tried the actual game and I just end up running around and I can't figure out what to do next. I also play Quidittch and Shrek with The Nephew sometimes.

The Western game sounds kinda awesome though. Do they have this Red Dead Redemption game for the original XBOX? My sister loves those kinds of games. Like she played um, what's the one maybe it's called Fable, where you can be evil or good, depending on your actions and you can get wives and whores and help townspeople. And also Marvel Alliance and the Lord of the Rings game. She gets dedicated to her video games, whereas I like Super Mario Brothers.

Deadwood - I CAN'T HELP THAT YOU ARE INHALING DEADWOOD LIKE IT IS YOUR OWN BRAND OF OXGYEN!! Some of us had 8 week old babies sleeping in the next room for a week and didn't want Al's loud ass foul mouth to be waking him up. I asked The BFF about the commentary and she said the first two she listened to were boring as hell and she gave up and didn't listen to any more. So now we are both taking your advice and doing just that one commentary. Also I am interested in the special features too. Then I can't decide if I should go straight into season two or do series three of Avatar that The Nephew just loaned me.

Cy starts out seeming more reasonable than Al, but then you start to get the feeling that there is something dark lurking under Cy's surface. Also, The BFF and I are not sure if the new Pirates movie will be any good, but we are going to see it anyway, if for no other reason that that we need to see Ian McShane as Blackbeard. ;)

Also, my crush on Ellsworth has spilled over into that I am reading all the Bobby Singer fics I can get my hands on. It's ridiculous. My heart is like literally flipping out over Ellsworth.

SPN - as a fan, I am disappointed in this season. As a Dean/Cas girl, I was DELIGHTED with all of the stuff we got in the last ep. But as a Castiel-girl, I am having a panic attack in the corner and throwing up on myself. I can't even talk about it - but you need The BFF's new Castiel mix. I will write her a note to upload that to her journal asap. I mean, since you are listening to mixes and sniffling anyways.

Not really hardcore. I hate first-person shooters and playing online, which is basically everything that is popular right now. I like single-player adventures. That means hack-and-slash stuff like God of War, to the amazing puzzle, shooter, and adventure game Uncharted 2 (I'll be beating that this week), to Red Dead Redemption, which is known as a sandbox game because you don't have to follow a linear storyline. You can ride around on your horse and do whatever you want. It's amazing and was game of the year for 2010. It's only on PS3 and the new Xbox, which I guess is the 360? I dunno, I don;t have one.

The reason I play what I do is because I got the Playstation 3 as my all-around media center. It plays Blu-rays, it streams from my laptop, it plays anything on USB I throw at it, it plays music, and video games. It really does do everything like the commercials say.

On Tuesday I pick up LA Noire, which is a game set in 1940s LA and you have to go to crime scenes and investigate and pick up evidence and interrogate criminals. I can't wait.

I HAVE TO RESTRAIN FROM MAINLINING DEADWOOD I SWEAR. I can watch them all right now on HBO Go if I wanted, but I've been parceling them out with Netflix on DVD because it looks nicer on my TV and I can turn on captioning. I feel like I understand stuff better when I read it, since it's like listening to Shakespeare.

I totally love Ellsworth too! He actually has a larger part to play in the plot right now in Season 2, and I don't want anything to happen to him!

Heh, I finally got to watch the new ep again since my GF came home from her trip, and she was practically in tears over it. She said if anything happens to Cas she's giving up on watching with me. She was a wreck after a certain character died on Torchwood (dunno if you've seen it) and literally cried for like two days. She wouldn't be able to handle it. Me, I take the more open minded approach and just like to see a good story unfold. I never hated death scenes or deathfic unless it was done like shit.

And yes, please rec me the fanmix. I love listening and getting all starry eyed over my ship, LOL.

Oh, see, the western game sounds good because I don't have to do things in order. I don't like games that require me to have a playing guide that i have to print out from the internet to understand what to do next. too complicated! But free play adventure does sound good!

We actually have the original Xbox, so we can't get any of the new games. We keep talking about upgrading, but we never do.

Deadwood must be done with captions! I agree.

I have seen the first two seasons of Torchwood. But I know about Ianto. I can't bring myself to watch it.

Here, The BFF uploaded her Castiel mix. (http://liptonrm.livejournal.com/300087.html) Enjoy that!

Don't watch Children of Earth. It's actually a very taut, scary, psychological thriller of a miniseries, but the way they wrote Ianto out WAS SO STUPID. Ugh.

Thanks for the mix! I'll check it out.

Hope I'm not barging in--I recently got the big boxed Deadwood set, and there are some good commentaries, but Tim O., bless him, made a point of saying the most useless, non-insightful comments he could imagine, on the level of "so, what did you have for lunch yesterday?". I think the others did a much better job of at least trying to add a little value. Ian McShane and Paula Malcomson were quite good and all Irish and British all over the place.

I'm watching DEADWOOD double; getting my spouse to watch it one...episode...at...a...time, while I'm working on my 3rd round of Season 3. No dilution of excellence so far.

Barging back out now. Happy DEADWOOD to all :-)

You can never barge into a conversation about Deadwood - because there is no law in Deadwood. ;)

"so, what did you have for lunch yesterday?".

hahaha lol Okay, see, that would be funny at first, just odd random questions like that. But it would probably get old after awhile.

Are there any other first season commentaries you would rec besides the finale? My bff said she watched the first couple and they were so boring she gave up on the commentaries. I like the ones with the writers and stuff too, if they are interesting enough to keep my attention.

Everyone tells me that it is a show I will never tire of.

Thanks for the info!

" there is no law in Deadwood."
I love that one line so much it's on my ipod shuffle :-)
The comm on the finale is probably the best of the bunch. Molly Parker, Keith Carradine, and Robin Weighert, bless 'em, do better but there's sooo much "Oh, there's (actor)...he/she's so great." "Yeah, (actor) was really great. Oh, and here's (other actor). He/she's great, too!".

At one point, Tim O. says something to the effect of let's make sure people who bought this don't get their money's worth from our commentary. And I could be wrong, my impression was that he didn't see the greatness of the show, he just wanted to come in, say his lines, take direction, and get paid.

NNTAWWT, but some of the others could at least talk about how the characters felt to them, what they pulled from their memories to do an emotional scene, etc. He was like "yeah, that intense scene when I was in Al's face? I was talking to a piece of tape stuck to the wall at eye level."

And Milch, if you don't have the visual of how hard he's trying to get his gut-felt point across with his expressions and body language..he just sounds high-strung and kinda tweaky. The disc he does, though, where he's on the Deadwood set on the last disc...bring tissue.

Is it okay if I add you to my friend list? It seems there be many Deadwood fixes to be had here :-)

[identity profile] dodger-sister.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
hahaha I'm just imagining some other more inappropriate Deadwood lines coming up on your Ipod shuffle. ;)

Whenever there is commentary with people just praising everyone they work with and only saying nice things, I mock and call them "Orlando Bloom". Because on the first Lord of the Rings commentary, everytime they cut to Orlando, he is going on about how "fantastic" everyone is. To the point it gets kind of hysterical. (even if he was awfully adorable).

I've only seen one interview with Tim O and he just seemed like a big dorky goof to me. I can never tell though, actors are too good at PR.

I am doing all the extra features on Deadwood, I think - so I'll have tissues ready.

Yes, you can friend me! I like friends. There probably isn't as much Deadwood talk here as one would think - but I do talk about TV in general a lot. And I see you like awesome things like post-apocalyptic fiction and cool things, like Ren & Stimpy. ;)
