WALTON GOGGINS WAS IN "COWBOYS & ALIENS", YOU GUYS!! I did not know this going in to the movie, but I saw his name in the opening credits and I made a little noise of delight. So...

JAMES BOND, HAN SOLO, WILD BILL HICKOCK, DR. THIRTEEN, SAM ROCKWELL & BOYD CROWDER RODE HORSES, SHOT GUNS AND KILLED SOME MOTHER-FUCKING ALIENS, YO!!!

Yep. Is there anything else I need to say about this movie? I think not.

And tomorrow I go see HP one last time before it leaves the theater - (apparently "The Smurfs" is showing on a bazillion screens this weekend and pushing everything else out of the theater - idk why). I have only seen HP once, but I kind of felt like it was the final movie and I should see it one more time. It was a lot to take in the last time - I think a second viewing is required. Don't worry, [livejournal.com profile] queenklu, I will be watching for Aberforth's kilt this time.

The kind of weird thing is that I am going to the movie with two of Kevin's daughters. It is only weird because I literally remember when they were born and now we are hanging out. But they are like 18 and 20 years old, so it's not like they are actually children or anything. I also get kind of nervous the first time I do something social with someone new, but I figured a movie was a good choice. And I recently met Kevin's two youngest kids when they showed up at his work and he had them come in the room to meet me. (He has six kids, for those keeping count - and thus far, I've met four of them - though technically I have met kid #3, but she was a newborn then and it was 16 years ago).

I still have some therapy stories to tell you - (there is a new cute guy at therapy and everyone there has been giving me a hard time for pointing out that he is hot) - and also some Nephew stories, because he calls me like three times a week now and wants to chit-chat. The Nephew is going to be one of those teenagers, when he grows up, that you have to constantly poke to get off the phone - (much like his father was, to my dismay).

But now I have to go read the bazillion blindfold fills ya'll posted, because apparently the way to celebrate LJ being back up, is to post porn!! I totally concur.

IN SUM: COWBOYS. ALIENS. SHIT BLOWS UP. (also, it had an awesome score).

IN SUM: COWBOYS. ALIENS. SHIT BLOWS UP.

When my Costa-Rica-moving friend and I saw the trailers, that was pretty much what I squeed: "Cowboys! Aliens! AND SHIT BLOWING UP!"

Heck, I watched "Death Race" once because Ian McShane (who, yeah...reason to watch anything) talked in an interview abut how very much shit got blown up.

For a hot minute I thought you meant Sean Connery was going to be in Cowboys...ah, well. But Boyd Crowder?!? Oh,this going to be good :-)

Yeah, I have been waiting for this movie since I saw the first trailer, what felt like a year ago but probably wasn't. Because - Cowboys, Aliens, and Shit Blowing Up! Though when I saw the trailer, my sister and The BFF were whispering about what Al's reaction to aliens invading Deadwood would be. I just kept hearing whispers of "cocksuckers" next to me. lol

I will watch anything where the premise is, "Shit blows up." What is Death Race about?

Yeah, no, not The James Bond, just a James Bond. Wasn't Boyd awesome in it? "You were always my favorite." lol

Death Race is kind of awful--futuristic prison car race to the death for media entertainment, wrongfully imprisoned ex-race car driver is coached by Al/Ian/Coach to win; warden is an evil bitch, and it's really silly, (McShane never actually saw the movie, just cashed the check) but there was some great explosions.

Actually,I think the best parts of it are on Youtube.

I cried tears of joy when Han Solo was all "what are they going to DO with it?? Do they want to BUY stuff??"

Invaded Al would be offering services half-price for the next 15 minutes after the alien invasion.

Well then, if even Ian skipped watching Death Race, then perhaps I shall as well. lol

I cried tears of joy when Han Solo was all "what are they going to DO with it?? Do they want to BUY stuff??"

Omg, yes, that was one of the best one-liners! Also, the "aliens invade Deadwood" premise my sister was running with really stood up when we realized the aliens were after gold.

Invaded Al would be offering services half-price for the next 15 minutes after the alien invasion.

LMAO He totally, totally would!! Leave it to Al to see every situation as a business opportunity.

Thank you! Glad to entertain you, darling. ;)

Both The Sister and I have been stressed out about my mom trying to sell her house and a whole bunch of other crazy family drama - so cowboys and aliens blowing each other up was just what we needed!

Your icon is making me happy! 8)

I'm glad you saw it - now go write the "Deadwood gets invaded by aliens" fic! Go! Write! lol

My little heart doesn't know what to do with Sam Rockwell and Walter Goggins in the same movie. They both generally play my favorite douchebag outlaw in whatever they are in. I was so excited by this casting.

So, it's a good movie then? lol The Boy, the BF and I are probably gonna go see it thursday. I'm very excited. It looks so awesome.

I knew James Bond and Han Solo were in it, but not Boyd Crowder. (and now of course I'm gonna have the actors previous characters in the back of my head all movie making running commentary)

I hope seeing HP with Kevin's daughters went well. I know you were wanting to do more social stuff with him and his family. Also, you totally have to share stories about the new cute guy at PT. Is he a tech or a patient? Too old, too young or just right? Inquiring minds want to know! (okay, nosy busy-bodies with no life of their own want to know, but it's the same thing, I swear!)

So you've just been waiting for The Boy to come home so you could see it? Between this and Leverage, I have to give you mega-props for your patience. ;) You know, the character is so not Boyd, but Walter is fantastic. Maybe my favorite character in the whole damn thing (besides possibly Keith Carradine's character who was pretty awesome).

The movie went well - it wasn't as weird to hang out with Kevin's kids as I thought it might be. Either they are very mature or I am very immature, I'm not sure which. Maybe a little of both. lol Kid #2 is such a fangirl, she gets so excited by everything. I showed her my convention pictures and discovered her Jensen-crush is in full form right now. I think I am going to invite her over for a Dark Angel Jensen viewing.

I was mostly thinking that if we had a bbq, I could invite Kevin and his family, since he hasn't been to my place since I lived at my mom's (high school graduation, that long ago!). But the aide, Cherri (I think she spells it with a C), who saw Jensen on my tee and was all, "Omg, is that Eric Brady?" - she's really who I mentioned wanting to hang out with. She is the kind of person one would invite out for drinks, but I don't drink. So I'm not sure what to do.

Cute Guy is a tech. I'll probably tell the whole story later in a post (yeah, we'll see if that happens) but I made a very casual remark about him (nothing really, not by my filthy standards for damn sure) and Kevin got wind of it and now he gives me so much shit. I can never tell if he is being protective, possessive or just a douchebag. I'm guessing the Cute Guy is early 20s. Old enough to drink, but still far too young for me - which I am fine with. Poor kid though, since everyone has been giving me a hard time, he's the one who is embarrassed. I'm not embarrassed. Also, there is this really young cute female aide that is so much fun to talk too - I told Kevin she was "entertaining as fuck" and he was confused as to whether that was a good thing.

Alas, the movie is going to have to wait til next week. School fees dug deeper into my pockets than expected. It's amazing how much 'free' public education costs.

Glad to hear the movie went well! It always feels good to make those kinds of connections. Whenever I do I'm always 'why don't I do this kind of thing more often?'

As for Cherri, you could invite her out for coffee or dessert? Like at a Village Inn or Perkins? (are those national chains?) Or even if ya'll have some kind of specialty dessert or ice cream place? And that gives you an opening to ask too. You could say you wanna try it but not alone, would she wanna join you.

I'm looking forward to Cute!Tech Guy stories. It sounds adorable that he's all embarrassed on your behalf.

Public school is expensive! When my little brother was in school, I felt like I spent so much money every August just getting him supplies and clothes for school. Let's not even talk about the year that he had a dress code and we had to buy him khakis and polos and shit.

I'm always 'why don't I do this kind of thing more often?'

You know, because I don't work or drive, I spend way too much time in the house. Most of my friends are 'stay in' kind of people, where we marathon TV shows and hang out at the house, which I enjoy, but just getting outside of the house is enough to make me happy. I am a much more social person inside than I ever actually get to be. Ice cream is a good idea for Cherri. We actually have a state-wide famous ice cream brewery place here in town and one of those speciality 'make your own sundae' places (always makes me think of Jared because you can get any candy topping you want on your ice cream including gummi bears, lol).

It sounds adorable that he's all embarrassed on your behalf.

lol I think he is embarrassed on his behalf.

I've just seen half an ep here and another half there. Hospital shows aren't really my thing, too much blood (blood and desease and injuries being described in great detail. As opposed to, oh IDK, Bones or SPN or True Blood or something. I never claimed to make sense. :P) so don't know who that is, but awesome for you! :)

You would think hospital shows would freak me out - with all the medical shit I have had done in my life. Like, that scene in ET where they have the kid and ET both strapped down to the experiment table - freaked me out so bad I had to leave the room and I've never watched it since. But for some reason, I was able to watch ER with no problem. I guess because so much of it was about the doctors while the patients were not front and center. There were a few ER episodes I had to turn off - whenever they did a "special episode" and made it from the patients' POV. I also watch House now and so much of it is just about House being a douchebag (you know how I love my douchebags) and Robert Sean Leonard being neurotic and adorable, that I don't even pay attention to the medical stuff on it.

I have medical squick issues - and yet, guys in scrubs really do it for me. Go figure. But it is different than say Bones or SPN, because that is blood and gore, but not illness or sickness - which is somehow different.

Yeah, the chick I love from House was also on The OC as Marissa's lesbian girlfriend and I loved watching her put that whiny little Marissa in her place. I've kind of crushed on her ever since.

*nod nod* I can see what you mean about it being so much about the doctors.

Hahaha, medical squick + doctors kink = good combo. :P And yeah, somehow blood and gore IS different from illness or sickness. Weirdly enough.
