I kept meaning to get this all written up, just some numbers on my word counts for 2013. I actually kept track throughout the year because the previous year, when I added it all up, I realized I was just 750 words short from hitting 100k and there was no way I was going to let that happen again. Especially this time when I added it up at the 6-month mark and realized I had 50k exactly, I had to go for the big goal and get it done.

Fandoms Written In For 2013 - 15; Avengers, Buffy&Angel, Chicago Fire, Criminal Minds, CW RPS, The Hunger Games, Kitties!, Leverage, Lost Girl, Middle-Earth, Once Upon A Time, Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Without A Trace & The X-Files.

New Fandoms Written In For 2013 - 6; Chicago Fire, Criminal Minds, Kitties!, The Hobbit, Lost Girl, and Once Upon A Time.

The Fandoms I Wrote The Most In For 2013 -
Buffy&Angel: 9,250 words.
CW RPS: 13,200 words.
Teen Wolf: 40,600 words.

Lowest Monthly Word Count - 4,000 words in November.
Highest Monthly Word Count - 14,000 words in July.

Interesting Facts:
*Last year I wrote in 17 fandoms. This year I wrote in 15. (Unless you separate Buffy & Angel and The Hobbit & The Lord Of The Rings, in which case, I guess I wrote in 17 this year).
*Last year I tried out 5 new fandoms. This year I tried out 6. (Which surprises me, because I felt like I had barely tried any new fandoms at all this year. Also, I was shocked to realize this was the year I started writing Chicago Fire fic. That feels like so long ago).
*Of the 8,350 words of Supernatural fic I wrote this year, ALL of them were for Dean/Cas stories.
*I wrote 8,900 words of Fic-For-Kids this year. And 1,250 words of Fic-For-Kitties.
*The fandom I wrote the least in was the Kitties! fandom, with the story I wrote about my sister’s cats, which was 1,200 words long. After that, the Once Upon A Time/Avengers fic clocked OUAT in at 1,300 and Lost Girl came out at 1,400.
*If you separate my Hobbit fic from my Lord of the Rings fic, then the fandom I wrote the least in is actually The Lord of the Rings, with 250 words. (it was Legolas crack-fic).
*I wrote 13,200 words of CW RPS fic this year, but it was actually only 4 different stories, 3 of which were PWPs. It seems I can’t keep a porn fic under 5k anymore.
*20,981 words of my writing this year was on my epic Derek/Stiles AU fic that still isn’t finished yet.
*The difference between my highest fandom word count (Teen Wolf) and my second highest fandom word count (CW RPS) is 27,400 words.
*I started the year with 26 unfinished WIPs sitting in my writing folder. I checked off at least 6 of those over the course of the year, maybe more. Yet, somehow, I still ended the year with exactly 26 WIPS in my writing folder again. Oops. I seem to have started, and left unfinished, as many new WIPS as I had the year before.
*I also posted 26 fics in 2013, one of which was my epic SYFY channel movie fic starring Neil deGrasse Tyson.
*My average word count, dividing out by 12, was just over 8k a month.
*I had four months (June - September) where I actually broke 10k.
*When I did my writing summary for 2012, I ended it with - On to 2013, where I’m betting Teen Wolf wins everything. That’s right, I said Teen Wolf! - Little did I know how true that would be or that I would write over 40k in Teen Wolf fic in 2013.

My Fandom by Fandom Count:
1,250 words - Kitties!.
1,300 words - Once Upon A Time.
1,400 words - Lost Girl.
2,050 words - Without A Trace.
2.150 words - Criminal Minds.
2,750 words - Chicago Fire.
3,650 words - The Hunger Games.
4,000 words - Leverage.
5,700 words - The X-Files.
6,750 words - Middle-Earth.
7,300 words - The Avengers.
8,350 words - Supernatural.
9,250 words - Buffy&Angel.
13,200 words - CW RPS.
40,600 words - Teen Wolf.

My Month by Month Count:
7,200 words written in January.
6,050 words written in February.
7,150 words written in March.
8,450 words written in April.
9,050 words written in May.
12,100 words written in June.
14,000 words written in July.
10,300 words written in August.
10,200 words written in September.
8,650 words written in October.
4,000 words written in November.
4,050 words written in December.

Total Yearly Word Count - 101,200 words written in 2013!!

My goals for 2014 are to finish all of the WIPS in my writing folder. I’m on a mission! I have already finished one this year. Most importantly is to get that freaking Derek/Stiles fic finished! I’m thinking Teen Wolf will probably be the front-runner of word counts again, just in finishing that one fic. But I wonder what new fandoms will strike my fancy during 2014. Anyways, that’s 2013...onto the next!

THANK YOU!! I can't believe I actually did it. Now I really want to try for 150k this year but upon reflection that seems a bit too ambitious. Maybe 125? It does make me think though - I could write an actual novel, possibly.

You totally could!

I bet that 125,000 wouldn't feel like that much more than 100,000 - only a little more than 2000 additional per month. NaNo can't keep up with your awesomeness!

This is inspiring and I think I might at some point do a fic breakdown in some form.

Thank you! Keeping track of my word count has actually helped me write more than I ever thought I could. After the first year of keeping track, I realized how much I actually write in a year and started trying to meet certain goals, and every month do better than the last month, etc. It's really helped. And writing down all of these little tidbits had shown me some things about my writing process that has helped me as well.

I'd love to see a breakdown of your words - it's so fascinating to see what other writers are doing.

And oh, I have so many works in progress. *eyes them all*

The Work In Progress - the bane of every writer's existence. They just sit there, taunting you, begging you to finish them. For me, since Teen Wolf started back up a few weeks ago, I have all these Teen Wolf ideas I want to write and I am like, "Stay Focused - you have 26 wips you are working on, don't start another one!"

lololol Okay. ;) Actually I love comments like these, because I write in so many fandoms (sometimes I just write two or three fics in a fandom and then it loses my interest and I move on) - so when I get someone from a particular fandom poking me for more, it kind of boosts me up.

Lucky you - I have two finished Leverage fics waiting to be cleaned up/posted and one half finished Leverage fic (the Apartment AU is still sitting in my WIP folder) and ION has started running Leverage basically all weekend lately, so I have sort of stumbled my way back in love with those characters all over again. I think Leverage is going to be one of those fandoms like Without A Trace or Firefly, where I can never completely give it up. I love them all too much.

Now I just have to get back on actually posting some fics!

Oh, hey, if you have a WIP, check out http://wipbigbang.livejournal.com/.

I've been watching Leverage on Netflix A Lot and am currently 8,000 words into writing an Eliot/Aimee fic for the wipbigbang.

I've seen that wipbigbang around recently. It's a great idea! I did think about joining it, for any number of my wips (I have two Teen Wolf, one Leverage and one Lost Girl that are all going to be over 10k in size and could use some encouragement for). But I have a fear of challenges that have deadlines - I don't know why, but deadlines are a surefire way for me to freeze up, always has been.

I've been watching Leverage on Netflix A Lot and am currently 8,000 words into writing an Eliot/Aimee fic for the wipbigbang.

I didn't even realize it was on Netfix! I have the first four seasons on DVD and I keep meaning to pick up S5 too. Still, when I come across it on TV, it's like I physically can't change the channel. There's something extra delightful about watching one of your favorite shows on TV, even if you own the DVDs. Friday I watched the one where they try to steal the ballpark for the mayor and Eliot plays baseball and gets a sandwich named after him. I love that moment where he comes into the bar and is telling them all about the game and how they named a sandwich after him. ;)

Eliot/Aimee - I love them! I would read that for sure!

I've had this fic in mind for stupidly long time. I figured it'd be one of those fics that no one wanted to read. But it wouldn't leave me alone, so here I am. And it turns out there are some people who do want to read it.

8,000 words in it's really taken shape but I think there might be another 8,000 words in it, probably more. Hardest thing I've ever written, but I think it might also end up being something I'm proud of. Or it'll suck, but at least I'll have done it. You know?

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your upcoming fics.

Dude. Wow! I'm so impressed by this! July in particular. It intimidates me a little bit. ;)

Of the 8,350 words of Supernatural fic I wrote this year, ALL of them were for Dean/Cas stories.

Hells yeah. ;)

Looking forward to your Derek/Stiles fic. It sounds awesome! (and I know I SUCK at answering emails these days, but if you need any support/someone to vent to/a beta, let me know. Things have calmed down considerably on the newly moved in boyfriend front, and I have no studies to suck my energy anymore. I sorta miss you. And by 'sorta' I mean 'do'.)

Thank you, bb! I don't know what happened in July! Even I am a little intimidated by it and I am the one who did it. 8)

I didn't write that much in SPN this year, compared to other years, but I am highly amused that it was all Dean/Cas fic. You can see what I am in the show for these days! ;)

Looking forward to your Derek/Stiles fic. It sounds awesome!

It's so ridiculous, bb, I can't even. It's going to be 50k long at this point and I'm not even sure they end up together at the end. They aren't even going to have full on sex in it, but it's still going to be 50k somehow. Because it's not just Derek/Stiles, but also Sheriff/Melissa and Stiles & Scott friendship and there are so many elements I am trying to work into it. And once it's finished? I have to go back to the Foster Care AU! I BLAME YOU ENTIRELY FOR ALL OF THIS!!!! Cool?

Wait...you moved in with the boyfriend? WOW. That's awesome!!

I totally miss you, babe! I have been so fucking sick this winter, it's not even funny. I just don't have anything in me energy-wise and the sickness has made me depressed and anxious and not having my usual social contacts has just made that worse. When I need to be squeeing with you the most is when I don't have the energy to actually do it! Boo that.

I'm trying now though to get back on schedule a little bit and get caught up with things. Livejournal first, then emails! I may very well take you up on that beta offer though - I have been writing so little since I got sick and not posting fic at all, that I feel like my mojo may need a second pair of eyes, just until I get my confidence back. I have some Teen Wolf and Leverage fic that I want to get up soonish.

Alright, off to catch up on more comments. /throwing cookies your way/

I didn't tell you?! Omg. Yes, yes I did! He moved to Sweden with me and now he's learning Swedish and trying to find a job and he doesn't really know anyone but me (or he didn't, slowly getting better) and it's all a bit scary and really awesome. :D There was, however, a pretty rough adjustment period where I didn't really go online at all because I was so caght up in all the drama. As you said, when I need it the most is when I don't have the energy to do it.

--I'm not even sure they end up together at the end--

*steels self for heartbreak*

It won't be that heartbreaking though. I really want to leave them at a good place - I want to give them a good ending, one where they are still in each others lives, but they are both so young, still teenagers and that can't last. I just want a happy ending that doesn't necessarily end in romance. The question is - am I good enough to pull that off? Or am I good enough to pull that off without causing a riot among my readers? Eep.

Totally cool. *rubs hands together* Hehehehe (What? I sometimes pretend I'm a supervillain. It's completely normal!)

TOTALLY NORMAL. Doesn't everyone pretend they are a supervillian sometimes?

I didn't tell you?! Omg.

The last I knew you guys were talking about it, but he was worried about the language barrier, I think. It's so awesome and it sounds like you guys are doing so great living together!!!

There was, however, a pretty rough adjustment period where I didn't really go online at all because I was so caght up in all the drama. As you said, when I need it the most is when I don't have the energy to do it.

Yep. That's always how it works, isn't it? It's the same with fannish things - like when you need the squee distraction of your ridiculous fannish ways is when you are so super busy and stressed that you don't have time for your fannish ways. Ugh. I am glad the stressful period is over and you are back in InternetLand again! (both because you are back and because it means your stress is down again!)

Boo indeed. I wish there was something other than cyber hugs I could do for you, but for now the cyber hugs will have to do. *hugs you* Let me know if there's any way I can help. <3

I just have to make it to March. 'March!' is my new battlecry. Once I get past the insanity that is this month, I think I'll be back on my feet pretty quick. I'm almost on my feet now but I've been so busy that I am exhausted from all the busyness.

I'll take cyber-hugs! I was just telling someone who sent me cyber-hugs on LJ that, sure, real hugs are always better but come on, I've been hugged by Jensen Ackles, so nothing else will ever really compare after that anyways. lol ;)

That sounds really lovely, actually. While I love romantic fanfic (stating the obvious here, obviously) I really, really crave good relationships in fic that aren't reomantic. Like, what's wrong with strong friendship? Or parent and child? Or siblings? Gimmie it all! So yay for you writing that! :)

The question is - am I good enough to pull that off?

That, my dear, I have no doubt about whatsoever.

I am glad the stressful period is over and you are back in InternetLand again! (both because you are back and because it means your stress is down again!)

I am also glad! :D Although the stress levels go up and down (are you SUPPOSED to fight this much or is it just us?), I've decided that fannish things are important and should be prioritized, since they make me happy. :) Now to get back to writing, as well...

Me too! And I hoping there's enough other relationships in this Teen Wolf fic that it'll be okay that Derek and Stiles don't end up together. I get two scenes of them in and then I'm like, 'Oh, have to weave some Sheriff/Melissa into this next one' and then I get another Sterek scene out and I'm like, 'Oops, haven't had a good Scott/Stiles friendship scene in awhile, or a Sheriff/Stiles family scene in awhile," so hopefully it'll all weave together well enough when it's finished.

Oh yeah, I love a good friendship fic! And good friendships going on during a romance fic. Like how Chad and Christian always end up being my favorite parts of J2 fic, because the best friend aspect is one of my favorites. Or how you can always make a Destiel fic (ugh, I can't believe I'm using that word now - damn you, Tumblr!) better by mixing in some good Sam/Cas friendship with it.

That, my dear, I have no doubt about whatsoever.

Awww, thanks, bb!

Well, you are totally asking the wrong person about the relationship thing, since I've technically never been in a real 'relationship' or anything like one. But I can say this, that 'yes' make time for the things you love. If that's fannish things or hanging out with friends without the boyfriend there or even heading out to a coffee shop to do some writing alone, you need some me time. It can't be The Boyfriend all the time, 24/7, because that's just not healthy. He fell for the girl who had all these wonderful awesome things about her and if you push all those wonderful awesome things to the side for him, then you kind of lose yourself, right?

Lol, awesome answer!

It sounds like it's gonna be great, and I don't think you have to worry. I personally could just read a whole fic of the Sheriff and Stiles being a family. *happy sigh*

Yes to this! The "supporting" cast and best friends and friendship scenes are so, so awesome! All fic is better when it has them.

Destiel fic (ugh, I can't believe I'm using that word now - damn you, Tumblr!)

Haha, I know the feeling! I refuse on principle, but it's hard to escape. Every ship has to have a name, and we must use the names all the time! :P

I'm not crying, that's just rain in my eye. You're right, of course. The thing is, we met when I had practically no life of my own, because I have trouble making new friends and England was scary, yo. So I had a lot more free time then I do now that I'm back home with my normal life, and since he's now in the shoes I was wearing when we met (new country, new language, doesn't know anyone) it's creating some friction.

In happier new on that front, we're going to see the Veronica Mars premiere in Stockholm tomorrow! (I helped fund a film. With Kickstarter. How cool is that?) So today we're marathoning an awesome show and eating cookies. Life is grand. ;)

Did you ever watch Veronica Mars, btw?

I have a friend who self publishes M/M on amazon and I bought one of her books and afterwards she was like, "How did you like it?" and I said, "Um, where is the sequel where you delve into the two best friends and they fall in love and live happily ever after? I need that now too!" lol

Haha, I know the feeling! I refuse on principle, but it's hard to escape. Every ship has to have a name, and we must use the names all the time! :P

I can see that being a problem. He's never seen you in your own territory. You were in his natural environment before and now he has to be in yours and especially with the language barrier for him, it must be hard for him to find things to do without you around. My brother had the same problem when he moved to a French speaking area of Canada after getting married and it was his wife's hometown and her family was there, but almost no one spoke English and he felt so isolated. I hope things are evening out for you both now!

In happier new on that front, we're going to see the Veronica Mars premiere in Stockholm tomorrow! (I helped fund a film. With Kickstarter. How cool is that?)

That is actually pretty fucking cool! You funded a film! How was it?

Did you ever watch Veronica Mars, btw?

I have not. My BFF was really into it and keeps telling me that I would love it, but it's one of those shows that has stacked up in my Netflix and I keep thinking, "I should get on watching that," and then I don't. I should though!!
