So the regular TV season has come to a close and the summer season is about to start. I thought now might be a good time to take stock. Southland was canceled. Go On was canceled - (I was shocked by this). Wedding Band was canceled - (less shocked but damn glad I saved my fav eps). NCIS: Red was apparently not picked up - (but I need Scotty Grimes on my TV so fucking bad, you guys!). I quit Collection: Intervention, which I’m not even sure is coming back anyways. And I quit Storage Wars as well.

Anyways, here is a list of what my Tivo’s Season Pass Manager looked like at the end of the 2011-2012 season compared to this year’s 2012-2013 season. It looks like a lot of shows, but you know, many of these are half-season runs and a few are my sister’s or my mom’s, but yeah, okay, it's a bit of TV. And the rankings are like...kind of rankings but also, ranking by section? I have a system - just go with it!

The formatting would not let me make columns so I just did the screenshot thing. Also, wow, Glee is on that list. That feels like forever ago. Of course, now all those canceled shows had to be cleared out and some new summer shows added in - I'm definitely trying The Fosters and Under The Dome. Anybody got any other suggestions for new summer shows to try?

Just a look at some new shows I started watching in 2012. Apparently I started watching a lot of TV last year, so I’ll try to keep it brief. Thankfully these don’t all air during the same time of year!

Under the cut for spaceage. )

Also, last year I started watching four shows that are not new, but were new to me, and are now in my regular viewing line-up; Teen Wolf, Leverage, Community & Paranormal Witness. I don’t know how I am going to like this one-a-week thing when Community comes back - I just want to mainline 12 episodes in a row. And, yeah, I am still crying into my pillow over Leverage’s cancellation.

So, that is all the new shows I started watching last year - I know, holy shit, right?! If you want to know more or want to discuss any of these shows, just drop me a comment.

James Marsters was on this week’s Wedding Band!! It was a kick-ass surprise, for damn sure. Wedding Band doesn’t list its guest stars, so even though James is in my Tivo lineup and I should get alerted to any shows he will be on, he didn’t pop for Wedding Band. So imagine my delight when the band was all gushing over some rock star that they fanboy, only to find out it was James! He was playing this washed up old rock n roll legend - had the British accent, leather vest, 80s scarfy things and the skin tight pants. His hair was a little longer too. I just love how curly his hair gets when he grows it out.

At the end, he sang and played the guitar alongside The Notorious B.A.G. (that’s Brian Austin Green, or so we call him around this house). Anyways, it was AWESOME.

They get some pretty good guest stars on that show. Kurtwood Smith was a nice surprise and Donald Faison was even better - (side note: I just found out Donald is going to be in Kick-Ass 2! I am a little nervous about them making a sequel but it gets bonus points for casting Donald) - but nothing tops a James Marsters guest-star. NOTHING.

In other TV news, since I’m here - who has been watching Once Upon A Time? Not spoilery but cut anyway. )

That is all.
