Come On, Son!
Apr. 2nd, 2014 05:01 pmIt is officially the first week in the new world where there are no more new episodes of Psych. It is a dark, dark day, my friends.
Deep breath, Psychos. Psych has moved on, and unlike Gus, we cannot follow. But it will live on forever in our sick twisted little hearts.
Yep, last Wednesday was the series finale of Psych. Today is a sad day. I always thought that Psych would be one of those shows that stayed on the air for like 15 years. Like they would just film 10 eps every year and then USA would slot them in wherever they were needed. Because that's how Psych rolled - it was always there whenever it was needed. Just when things in your life seemed the darkest, new episodes of Psych would magically appear and it would be glorious. And I just thought they'd keep that up for another 10 years. I mean, I completely understand that they wanted to go out on top - there are some shows I can think of that are well past their prime and can't seem to let go - but understanding and accepting are two different things. My beloved, happy funtime show is gone.
However, great finale! Who saw it? I was so happy for the ending everyone got - from Henry to Lassiter to Buzz (Oh, Buzz!) to Shawn and Juliet and Chief Vick and especially Gus. What a great end for Gus. The day Shawn walked into his office pretending Gus' fake cat, Mrs. Pickles, was at the vet would turn out to be the greatest day of Gus' life. And let us not forget the wonderful end with Dobson! Dobson, you are the man! And love always for Woody! And I loved how at the end, it was still wacky and ridiculous and we could leave with the feeling that they were all going to carry on, in their own ways. Well done, Psych Team!
I watched the marathon where all the stars picked their favorite episodes and also they filmed thank you and goodbye messages to the fans, us Psychos, and omg, Kirsten Nelson's thank you message - she was just crying through the whole thing. I wanted to climb through my TV and hug her and tell her we would miss her as much as she will miss us. During the finale after-show they ran videos from the fans saying goobye and one girl was just crying so hard and all the actors seemed so surprised and touched by it and I don't think they realized how many of us were out there crying too.
I'll miss you, gang! I'm not playin'.
