A few of my favs from Motor City Comic Con 2018 thus far. Sis said, “I always knew Rey & Supergirl we’re friends!” Negan had the voice down pat, “Well shit, Rick, I’m having a damn good time!” Was surreal just chatting in line with Pennywise - everything except the boots was handmade by this cosplayer, count me impressed.

Just let Groot chill while engulfing our heads with his hands! Sweetums may have been the coolest one I saw all day!

And Michael Rosenbaum enthusiastically yelled, “OMG, you’re the shit!” when he saw that I was dressed as Kaylee from Firefly & had decorated my wheelchair with a stuffed Serenity and a bunch of plastic toy tools. That made my day!

Pics under the cut! )

See you nerds tomorrow for Day 2!

So, Sis and I just came up with a game plan for our TV watching. We just finished the first half of Sleepy Hollow's current season. Next we are watching The Guild, before Netflix drops it at the end of the month. Sis has seen it before, but I haven't and she wants to watch it again. Then we are watching the last half of the last season (sobsobsob) of Lost Girl. It just came back for the final eps, but we are gonna let it stack up, so we can get to The Guild. After Lost Girl, we'll watch the second half of Sleepy Hollow. And also, in there we'll watch Agents of Shield, but we will watch that as it airs. I need to keep up with it, because The Canadian Brother calls me every Sunday to talk about it. We'll watch The Walking Dead each week, once that comes back. And we watch Arrow each week with The BFF. Plus, Hoarders, which we do both episodes the day after they air. If she could stay up late enough, we'd watch them in real time, because it's my sister's (oddly) comfort show. And we watch The Nightly Show as well.

For me, I still have shows stacked up, too many to count, so I shouldn't be trying new shows, like Legends of Tomorrow, and I still haven't decided for sure to stick with it but the second ep the team really gelled a lot more, so for now, I am watching that. I also watch The Flash (with The BFF), The Fosters, Reign, Tiny House Hunters and Legends of Tomorrow. I just finished the last and final season of Legend of Korra (who wants to talk about that with me?!) so I can add one other show this week. I'm holding onto Teen Wolf and Colony, gonna let them stack up, but I need to watch either Agent Carter or The X-Files. (Sis is watching The XFiles too, but we don't watch together because she has too many feelings and is waaaaay too overstimulated. I'm not even allowed to talk about it with her because her face goes all red and she has to run out of the room. I'm not mocking, I understand, but this means I haven't gotten around to starting it). I also need to get caught up on my stacked up Hawaii Five-O, Chicago Fire, Law & Order SVU, Gotham & s2 of The Strain (I LOVED s1). Plus, I really want to watch s1 of 12 Monkeys again. We just watched the original movie and it has made me want the TV show again. Also, my current nighttime/in-bed Netflix show is Dance Academy's s2.

So, while we are talking about TV, have any of you tried the new show You, Me & The Apocalypse? Sis is interested and I remember being a little interested too when I heard of it, but I got so behind on TV that I cut it off the list. I know it already started, but we can catch up, if anyone thinks it's worth it. Anyone? But yeah, if you add it up, it's about a dozen shows at any give time for me, which I realize is a hella lot, but whatevs.

So I had like a good, but ridiculous evening last night. My sister had to run Dad's groceries out to him, so I asked her to bring me coney dogs from the place down the street from his house - this is our childhood home and we had a Frosty King right down the street, so you can imagine we frequented that a lot - and they have the best coneys I have ever had, omg. So she was gonna bring me two coneys with mustard. When she came back, she said she had a surprise for me. I pulled an extra container out of the bag and thought, 'Oh cool, she got me chili cheese fries too.' Nope. She got me Funnel Fries. No, okay, l I have never heard of these before, but they are like funnel cakes in the shape of french fries. Like french fry shaped pieces of crispy funnel cake bread covered in sugar. OMG, FUNNEL FRIES. It's like going to the fair and getting funnel cake, but without the hassle of going to the fair!!! The best coney dogs ever and funnel fries, omg, if only I could get this place to be open year round, my life would be complete.

Then my sister wanted to play Monopoly. I got her a Walking Dead version for her birthday and we've been playing quite a bit lately. I've only beat her once so far, but considering I never beat her at anything, I'll take it. So we were playing Monopoly when she gets a text from her 'work-wife' who is at a Disney themed wedding. Apparently she took pictures of all the Disney themed center pieces and sent it to all her coworkers and was making them vote on the best one. She continued to text about the Disney themed wedding all night and it was like a mass conversation going on between them, like dudes, you'll all see each other on Monday, calm down. I may have muttered something about, 'those losers' under my breath and the next thing I know I am involved in this madness and texting back at them, idek. My sister sold me out. Finally one of her coworkers, the geek dude, texts everyone asking, "Is it lame that I am 32 and home alone on a Saturday night, popping popcorn and about to watch Beauty and The Beast? Whatever, I don't care, I'm doing it anyways." These are the people my sister works with. Anyways, despite that I started out with way more properties and a shit ton more money than her, my sister somehow still beat me at Monopoly. I just sat at the table, screaming, "What did I do wrong?!" while my sister laughed so hard I thought she was going to pee her pants.

So, that's what I did last night.
dodger_sister: (thief)
So this has been going around on Tumblr, but for those of you that aren't on Tumblr, I thought I'd give you a heads up. This website, ebooks-trees, has been using a bot to randomly and rapidly steal fics archived at AO3 and other places. Without permission. And then making money off those fics through the advertisements they sell there and, though they claim to be a free site, demanding your credit card to set up an account. Which means not only are they taking our fics without permission, but they are making money off of the work we did. Last night I checked out the people I follow on AO3 and almost every single one had multiple fics stolen. Though thankfully not any of my own, they did steal the podfic my sister did of my fic, Baggins Books. ([livejournal.com profile] dugindeep, you had 12 fics up there last night, though they seem to have been taken down now). There was lots of info going around about how to demand your stuff be taken down and they must have gotten slammed with emails last night, because as of this afternoon, most of my friends' works have been removed. ([livejournal.com profile] lindahoyland, as of last check, you still had one fic remaining). I just feel like it's completely against fandom and internet etiquette to repost others' works without their permission and certainly to make money off someone else's works. What bullshit. As I said, it's mostly resolved now, but if you want to follow a good place that is keeping updated on it, go here or here.

And now, to promote some good stuff in fandom, have some fic recs. 5 fic recs under the cut. )

And since we are on the subject of fandom, what do you all think I should do for my 5 year LJ anniversary, coming up in May? Some sort of special post I can make? Did any of you celebrate your five years on LJ?

Geek Out!

Mar. 2nd, 2015 07:38 pm
dodger_sister: (zombie)
So, apparently this weekend was Gaming Weekend around my house. Yesterday, Sis and I played 3 rounds of Smashup and I won, best out of 3! I can count on my fingers the number of times I have beat my sister at any games in our lives, so that was awesome. I got to be Ghost Aliens and Steampunk Robots and Shapeshifting Minions of Cthulhu.

Also, on Saturday, we had Geek Cousin and his girlfriend over. We played this one roleplay tabletop game where we had to fight off the bad guys and my character was a cyber-punk Eddie Redmayne. (I swear, that’s who he looked like!) GC’s character died and he told us we had to flee and I was all, “Fuck that, let’s fight to the end!” and he was like, "No, really, it’s in the rules, if one person dies, you have to flee.” I was like, "What kind of fellowship is this? What if when Boromir died Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli had just been like, ‘Oh well,’ and run away?!” So we ran and then GF died and GC was like, “You don’t escape, game over,” and again I was like, “What? No! Sorry, but we just leave her body behind and keep running,” and he was like, “Again, it’s in the rules, if one of you dies while fleeing, the game is over.” What kind of game is this?!

We also played this game called Geek Out which is AWESOME and we plan on buying it for ourselves. In it you get cards like, ‘Name 3 Avengers,’ and then your team gets to say, “Yes, we can do that,” and then the other team gets to outbid you, “Well, we can name 4,” and then you can counter, “We can name 5,” etc, until someone calls the other team’s bluff and then you have to name whatever you bid. Name 3 movies where a child is sucked into an alternate reality. Name 6 movies about alien invasions. Name 3 books about horses. Name 5 songs with Hell in the title. Etc. One of the things we got was name 6 Walking Dead characters. My sister and I kept outbidding each other until finally she called me at 26 characters and I had to do it. It was easy. I was only halfway through the characters in my head when I hit 26!

So I’m wondering, for my Walking Dead peeps, how many characters can you name? No cheating! I trust you not to look it up on IMDB. The person who names the most characters gets a TWD fic from me, how’s that? Name as many TWD characters as you can - Go!

TV Talk!

dodger_sister: (television)
I haven't talked about TV in forever, so let's give this a go! Because I've had a lot of Feels about TV lately. Mildly general spoilers, but nothing significant...

The Walking Dead - It was an entire episode about my two favorite people, Carol & Daryl! I think there are parts of it I will have to rewatch again, just cuz, I have a lot of feels! That scene in the safe house, where they were laying side by side on the bunk - they were just fucking teasing us! And the thing is, I don’t even know if I want them to get together-together. It’s one of those relationships that while I am screaming at the TV, “Omg, kiss already,” - although in this episode I really wanted them to just hold hands - I also don’t need them to kiss, because they are just perfect as they are. My sister said, “It really doesn’t matter if they get together in a sexual way or not, because they are together. Even if this is as far as it goes, this is them together.” And she is so right! And I still maintain that Carol did it on purpose to get inside the building and get a better look at what they were up against. She even said earlier in the ep, “What are we gonna be able to tell just from watching?” The other night I dreamed that I was writing a Carol/Daryl fic - “The Five Times They Didn’t Kiss And The One Time They Did,” and now I kind of really want to write it, but also I’m like, “I could never do it better than they do on the show.”

The 100th episode of Hawaii Five-O - My only complaint was that I thought it was going to be ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’, whereas it ended up more of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ - you know, “…and you were there, and you were there…” But I still loved it! I loled so hard at McGarrett having to strip off the layers though, but damn that man looks good. And the scene where they find Steve, omg, the way Danny’s voice breaks on it! Steve was fucking breaking my heart at the end too! I got all worked up over this ep, talking at the TV more than usual - (which is saying something since I talk a lot at the TV during this show). And the music video at the end? I literally said out loud, “Omg, why are you doing this to me? I love you all so much, you fucking bastards.” I have rewatched that music vid a number of times already, thank you very much.

Sleepy Hollow - My 2 favorite characters on this show are Jenny and Irving. And my 2 favorite relationships are the realistic sister relationship between Abbie & Jenny and the broship of Ichabod & Abbie. So this episode had pretty much everything I love the best. Sisters! And Irving getting back in the game! And, even though not a lot of the broship, what we got was adorable - Abbie tucking him all in and shit. My sister says it was her favorite episode thus far. It also had the perfect amount of MotW and Mythology mix for me. The whole Rosemary’s Baby thing is a fricking awesome storyline!

So…who wants to talk TV?
dodger_sister: (twins)
The Kids at therapy are so fucking adorable. I just want to give them cookies and scruff up their hair. (I called them The Kids because they are both 19 and have the same first name i.e. ‘Kid’. It's kind of like they are Thing 1 and 2. OMG, I could call them Thing 1 and Thing 2!!)

Some Things under the cut. )

I can never tell if they are being sincere or poking fun - this is what years in my family has done, I assume every comment is sarcastic! But I'm still going to sing-along regardless, because 'whatever, I do what I want!'
dodger_sister: (teen wolf relationships)
Since Teen Wolf starts back up tonight, I thought now would be a good time to put up this post about shippy-ness on this show. Honestly, I could pretty much pair anyone with anyone on Teen Wolf. I mean, give me a pairing and I could make a valid argument for that ship. And in general, yes, I am a multi-shipper and such, but this show, man…no wonder the fandom took off like a shot out the gate. The possibilities are endless and the chemistry abounds all over the fucking place.

So let’s go with the most obvious…for me at least. All the pairs under the cut! )

Also - just because I love them - let’s see some Mrs. McCall/Sheriff Stilinski on the show at some point, please? Please? Just not before I finish my fic.

Speaking of fic and totally off-topic from ‘ships...I am writing this Teen Wolf fic. Mrs. McCall is a major presence throughout it. I’ve written 5,000 words of this story, during which I was calling her ‘Karen’. That is not her name. Her name is Melissa. Uh. Then, I’m watching The Walking Dead. This woman has this major scene and I think, “Is that Teen Wolf mom? No. Although...they both do film in Georgia.” So I look it up. It was her! She was in like four episodes - (one of the Governor’s people) - and her character’s name? Karen. I must have subconsciously realized it was her but then it came out as her Teen Wolf character being named Karen in my fic...idk, it amused me.

And now, t-minus a few hours to the third season premiere!
dodger_sister: (wee!sammy)
One - My dad is having another surgery tomorrow on his leg. Last time I was uber-worried but I am a little more optimistic this time around. Still, in his health, it’s always a risk. Not the least of which because he hasn’t been taking care of himself the last month or so. They let him go home in between surgeries for some reason. This means that he hasn’t been following the diet they gave him - (on which he lost 50lbs!) - or taking his medicines properly - (he told me he lost track, while some of them he just didn’t want to take). My dad puts on a good show for people, so I don’t think they realize how little he actually takes care of himself. Tomorrow will tell, I suppose.

Two - In other surgery news, The Nephew had one the week of Thanksgiving. If you remember, he broke his arm last year. After they took the cast off, he had a cyst of fluid build-up, which the doctor said is not uncommon after wearing a cast. It wasn’t hurting him, so they decided to leave it. But I think The Nephew was always self-conscious of it and recently he told his dad that it was hurting him. Idk if it really was or if he was just self-conscious - (this came about right after school started back up) - but it was an outpatient procedure, so his parents decided to do it anyway. Thankfully, it all went fine. I called him the next day when he had the good pain meds and this conversation occurred.

Brother: Tell her what you are wearing at 3 in the afternoon.
The Nephew: My pajamas!
Me: What? Who are you…me?
TN: I know!
Me: Are you going to wear them to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow?
TN: NO!
Me: You don’t think Mommy would let you get away with that?
TN: NO!
Me: That’s too bad because I wanted to wear my pajamas to dinner at Grandma’s house tomorrow. I was just going to tell her that you were doing it, so I should get to do it too.
TN: OKAY! That’s a plan! Let’s do it!

I love that kid.

Three - The Walking Dead midseason finale…Holy. Fucking. Shit. ) This fucking show, man. I can’t believe we have to wait until February for more.
dodger_sister: (threesome)
So I voted on the People’s Choice Awards for the first time in my life. Walking Dead FTW!! I really just went over there to browse, but I ended up voting in a few categories. Walking Dead was up under Sci-Fi and Cable Drama, so I voted there. If Justified had been up for a cable drama, I might have had to go that route, but it wasn’t, so…TWD FTW!!! But what I really want to talk about is the movie ‘on-screen chemistry’ category. It was about chemistry and I was hoping there might be some same-sex options in there - (I friend-ship the hell out of Tony-Bruce, but I couldn’t really think of any others from recent movies that I wanted to see in there). The nominations made it clear that it wasn’t just romantic options, because Jeremy/Scarlett were on the list - (they did have amazing chemistry together, didn’t they?). Even without RDjr-Ruffalo, I say that the People’s Choice Awards get kudos for progressiveness...because there was a Threesome option!!! Remember while I was reading the Hunger Games and I was like, “Omg, Gale/Katniss!” and then after the movie I was all, “Omg, Peeta/Katniss!” and then I was like, “What do I do? Oh right, OT3!” and then I freaked out at therapy in front of that old lady? Yeah - Jennifer/Josh/Liam - OT3 FTW!! I totally voted for them. It actually doesn’t seem quite right though, because I don’t think Josh and Liam had any screen time together - (did they?). They just didn’t want to divide up the ‘ships - (like me, someone at the PCAs couldn’t pick either!) - and anyways, I support threesomes! I was kind of bummed to see Community didn’t get a nomination though. Anyhoo, now I guess I have to pay attention to the winners. Though I am still not watching the actual awards show.

And now…fic! I have no Thanksgiving story this year - (I did like one year and that is it) - but this year I have written in several new fandoms. I have three stories ready to go and I thought I would post one on like Monday. Now I just can’t decide which one to go with. So I am just going to put up a bit from each fic without telling you what new fandom of mine it is in and then let you pick which one grabs your interest more. Mostly this is just a more fun way for me to decide, rather than doing eeny-meeny-miny-mo.

[Poll #1879269]

Finally, Jeremy Renner is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend! Tivo is set to go!
dodger_sister: (the walking dead)
My back hurts. Though I am unable to tell if it is really my back or actually my stomach. I think the tea I am about to drink will help. Tonight I was going to bitch about some family things and how I felt kind of grumpy all weekend - and I may come back to this because the one thing in particular has been an ongoing issue for me - but right now, even with my back hurting, I have to flail around. Because…

The Walking Dead just had the most amazing return ever! They came back with a bang and a half! Under the cut for spoilers of 3.01 )

It. Was. Awesome.

And the tea is already helping, thank you very much. Night all.
dodger_sister: (the walking dead)
I would actually watch a show called "The Falling Dead".

Recently FanGirl Central did a rewatch of S1 of The Walking Dead. I had forgotten some things, but mainly how very short the season was. Seriously, you guys, it felt like at least a 14 episode run because so much happens in the first season. I know the first time through I liked Lori jut fine but this time it was hard to listen to anything she had to say without just wanting her to go away already. Also, watching the slow transition of ‘kind of kick-ass Andrea’ into ‘motherfucking kickass Andrea’ was very interesting to do. There was one thing though that The BFF said so nonchalantly, like it was so matter-of-fact as if everybody had figured this out already and yet it was something that I had never even thought of.

But it kind of blew my mind. )

Now Falling Skies, because OMG. OMG, THIS WEEK’S EPISODE!! It was SO exciting! I think I need to be more coherent though and I have things to say about the season as a whole, so let’s start there.

The 2nd Mass is being much smarter this year than they were last year. It was my biggest complaint when watching last year, the need to go in and ‘fix-it’ all. You know how when you are watching a movie where someone is being chased by ‘men in black’ and you think, “Okay, drop your phones because they can be traced, change your appearance, don’t go in anywhere that has security cameras because they are probably tapped into all of those…” but the people on the TV never listen to you? Yeah, that was watching first season of Falling Skies.

I guess, very very mildly spoilerish bit wherein I discuss long-term thinking on Falling Skies and Lost. )

Second season of Falling Skies has been far more exciting, far less frustrating and just far better on a whole. If you are one of the people who tuned in last season and decide to forgo it this season - you should see about checking it out.
dodger_sister: (horror)
Since it is Friday the 13th, I thought we could talk about movies that scare me. Like really scare me. Because some movies are a little suspenseful or have some good jump-fright moments, but finding a movie that actually settles inside me for awhile is hard to do.

6 Movies that scared me. )

So, how about you all? Movies that scared you?
dodger_sister: (wee!sammy)
GO METS!!! I know some of you are shocked to hear me say that, but I used to watch The Mets a bit back in the day and anyways, you gotta throw out some love to fellow competitors when they deserve it. And The Mets deserve it - Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in the history of the team!!!!! Congrats, Santana!! (I kind of can't wait to see Jon Stewart's reaction come Monday night's program).

In family news, The Nephew went to a birthday party at a Bouncy House/Arcade place. His dad was playing this shooting game and it was two player but The Nephew said he didn't want to play, that he would just watch. Then this little kid came over and picked up the second gun and started pretending that he was shooting too. So The Nephew turns to the kid and says, "Do you want to play? You can play, I have money," and pulls two quarters out of his pocket and puts them in the game so the kid can play. How awesome is my boy?! When they were walking away, my brother stops him and says, "Buddy, I know that kid didn't say 'thank you', but that was a really nice thing you did," and The Nephew goes, "Yeah. I know." I LOVE THAT KID!!

Two story recs behind the cut )

Also, THANKS A BAZILLION to [livejournal.com profile] fragrantwoods for the fireworks V-gift (someday we will have scratch-n-sniff computers so I can smell the perfect afterburn - what? Yes, I like the smell of fireworks) and [livejournal.com profile] denyce for the delicious looking cupcake!!

I am slowly catching up on LJ-things after having gotten so far behind when my brother was visiting and then the week of sleeping that followed. I am making myself not comment on everything, and I'll be slowly picking away at it this week.

In Sum: I have Law And Order: SVU on in the background and Garret Dillahunt is playing a creepy ass child-molester. How can a guy that funny play a guy that creepy?

TV Talk!!!

Nov. 3rd, 2011 12:19 am
dodger_sister: (television)
Let's talk TV!! Just a few random thoughts I have on a slew of shows I watch…

Some mild spoils for Supernatural and H50. )

NCIS:LA: Nell and Eric were adorable in their uniforms!! Awwwww. You know what made up for Kensi's all-too-brief appearance on H5-0? KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! I am not surprised it was black underwear but it was very sporty. I would have thought the tough chick secretly wore really girly underwear. Not that I've spent an unreasonable amount of time thinking about Kensi's underwear.

Totally spoilery for The Walking Dead and American Horror Story. )

Death Valley: If you are not watching this show - WHY NOT? It's on MTV and you should start watching it right the fuck now. I know, you are all, "But it's on MTV." No, don't let that stop you - it's like COPS but with vampires and werewolves and zombies. And not like an apocalypse, but just like normal everyday life going on with these supernatural beings as a daily part of it. You don't need to know anything about it to jump right in - so JUMP RIGHT IN. Billy is my cop boyfriend and I know he is a douche-idiot, but god I love him. He is like The Todd from "Scrubs" except instead of being a surgeon with a scalpel, he is a cop with a gun. He's like...he's...I can't even explain it to you, but he is like my perfect man. And that probably explains so much about me to all of you.

Glee: Glee came back last night and Tivo missed it!! It didn't tape. Apparently it was listed as a rerun and lots of people missed it because their Tivos/DVRs didn't pick it up. Boo!! I wasn't that excited about its return, but still.. PUCK.

Wilfred: I recently found myself really, really missing this genius little show. I have quite a wait in store. I am really worried about what the ending of the season means for Bear.

Psych: I have waaaaaay too many thoughts, so let's just go with - WHO SAW LASSITER/ZACHARIAH?! Yes, Zachariah like Kurt Fuller. THEY WERE CUDDLING!!!!!!! IT'S CANON ON THE SHOW NOW, RIGHT?! Sadly, Woody (Kurt Fuller) seems to be married.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm: I have started watching these but it is still too early for me to have any thoughts. I like to give all new shows like three episodes before I decide one way or another. They both seem to have good potential though.

There are a few other shows that I watch too, but I think that is all the thoughts I have for now.

In Sum: Billy/Me/The Todd would be my ideal lifemate scenario. Also - KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!!!

Update.

dodger_sister: (alexis-mummy_daydream)
Hello, flist people.

I just wanted to let you know that my eye surgery went very well.

Update on my eye surgery... )

While I laid there, I came up with several fan-fic story ideas. They probably suck, since I was tripping - (oh yeah, was I ever tripping.)

Here are the four ideas I came up with while tripping balls. )

So, anyway, my eye still hurts, but I can see now. And I'll be easing myself back into computer time. I've also decided to write 500 words every day, no matter what. That's about how much I can write in a half hour.

We'll see how long that lasts. Today I actually wrote 2,500 words (though I did it all without looking at the computer screen, to spare my eyes, and it seems to be badly typo-ed.) Doesn't matter, I'll fix it later, cuz it's totally done. A whole story. That is not any of the stories that I promised any of you. Because I am lame like that.

In Sum: Dear AMC, I will never again say, "Hey, American Movie Channel, why don't you ever run movies?" as long as you continue to bring us such fucking stellar programming as THE WALKING FUCKING DEAD, PEOPLE!!! WATCH THAT SHIT!!!

EDITED: To say thank you to everyone for all their support during my bad week last week and for all the well wishes and good luck on the surgery! My Flist rules! Thanks, peoples!
dodger_sister: (dodger2icon-baylorsr)
Alright, alright, [livejournal.com profile] aythia, I did a meme...see?

She's always tagging me to do these things and I am lame and never do. So this time, I thought I would, just to try something different...like actually doing things.

Don't expect major confessions here...I have to be in the mood for that chick-flick shit, you know.

Mission: List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
Tag seven people to do the same.
Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it"

1. The tornado sirens went off today. Yes, like five days before Halloween. That's weird, even for Michigan. Which lead me to think about the fact that I hate storms! I hate high winds and pouring rain and thunder and lightening. Mostly because I have actually been in TWO tornadoes in my life. They didn't touch down, but believe me, they don't have to. My fear makes me do the following things when it even starts to rain - put in my contact lens, put my shoes next to my bed, have my bag with my wallet and my week worth of pills nearby...all in case I have to flee and/or the house comes crashing down around us. (These things also help in case of a fire). And I put on either my fake dog tags or my fake One Ring, sometimes both, because yes, those things totally help.

2. I don't like to eat things that have crunchy things in them - like brownies with nuts in them. Because you bite into it and you're all, "Omg, what was that?" and someone is like, "Oh, I think it has nuts in it," and then later you find out it didn't have nuts in it and you don't know what you just ate! Or sometimes you are eating something with nuts in it, but any of those crunchy things could also be like a cockroach or something! YOU DON'T KNOW!!!

3. Three, er four, albums that remind me of the summer after I graduated high school - Alanis Morrisette's "Jagged Little Pill", Beastie Boys' "License To Ill" and both volumes of the Dazed and Confused soundtrack.

4. I have three cats - Audrey aka Papa Bear, Krycek aka Big Buddy, and Roo. I tend to talk more about my sister's cats because my cats are old and fat and don't do anything. Buddy thinks that "playing" means finding a piece of string and chewing on it. They are sweeties who like cuddles and pettings, but they don't ever do anything overly cute or new.

5. I got a job the summer between 8th and 9th grade at a child care and continued to work in child care for the next decade of my life. I did this until I was in my early twenties. Oddly, now I really don't like any kids, except the ones in my family. I don't know how I did it. They want things like all the time. Honestly. Though I do plan on taking this knowledge and totally using it to write an M2 daycare fic.

6. I am currently watching the following shows - Hoarders, Hellcats, NCIS LA, Nikita, Hawaii Five-O, Glee & Supernatural. I will soon be adding The Walking Dead, Psych and South Park to that list, as they return to television in the next few weeks. But where is my What Not To Wear?

7. It's a good thing this meme ended on an odd number, because I firmly and truly believe it is bad luck to end on an even number, unless it is a dividend of 10.

What? I have to tag people now? /grumble/ Fine, but only cuz this is the first meme I've ever done and I don't feel like being a rebel about it. But dude, [livejournal.com profile] aythia, we share way too many friends in common...seriously, I checked like five people to tag and they've already done this meme. Our flists are very over-lapping.

I tag [livejournal.com profile] ranua, [livejournal.com profile] vikingprincess, [livejournal.com profile] tringic, [livejournal.com profile] casiedearestfic, [livejournal.com profile] menel, [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm and [livejournal.com profile] 13chapters.

Or, for you lucky people who have the far more superior Tivo...Program Your Tivos!

Tomorrow night, 8pm on FOX, "Glee" is doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it will be awesome and even if you don't watch the TV show "Glee,"...you should watch this episode. Because...ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! I mean, come on.

Saturday, the 30th, beginning at 12 noon - tune in to Comedy Central for a LIVE Broadcast of THE RALLY TO RESTORE SANITY and/or FEAR!! Brought to you from The National Mall in Washington DC, by The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and that guy Stephen something. No, no, I love you too, Colbert.

Go to the Rally! Or watch the Rally live on TV! Or program the Rally on your DVRs! Or, if you are terribly busy that day, just support the Rally by donating to The National Mall, cuz they are gonna fuck that shit up. Rally news, bus organizations and car pool info, and a link on how to donate to The National Mall, can all be found at the official site.

Or, if you are more into Keeping Fear Alive - join Stephen Colbert and The March To Keep Fear Alive!

And on Sunday, since I am shocked to find there are still people out there who don't know about this..."The Walking Dead" premieres. Yes, it's based on the comics. Yes, it's very "28 Days Later". (What's up with that, who knows? Did 28 Days Later totally steal that whole opening scene from The Walking Dead comics or what?) And it is absolutely the Zombie Apocalypse! Plus, LENNIE JAMES...that man has a sexy voice. Hi, Hawkins, hi! Oh, yes, on AMC, Sunday at 10pm. (It's in the "Mad Men" slot, which cracks me up because it conjures to my cracked out brain the image of Don Draper as a zombie. Bet he could still get laid though.)

And check out how they plan to promote "The Walking Dead" by staging ZOMBIE INVASIONS in major cities around the world - um, looks like tomorrow, the 26th. At subways and the like...and for anyone in America, the zombies are coming to LA, NY, DC, Boston, San Francisco & Chicago! The Zombies Are Coming!

On a final note, we have finished the Buffy Season Three extras and have moved on to Angel Season One. We just did the pilot commentary and omg...Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt are so Bestest Best Friends that it squishes my insides! And when Cordelia looks around that guy's office and notices the dark curtains and the no mirrors and is all, "You're a vampire!" - heehee. I think the quote is, "I'm from Sunnydale, mister. We have a Hellmouth!" Oh, Cordy.

Also, as soon as Christian Kane made his first appearance on the screen, my sister just starts giggling uncontrollably. Christian has that effect on women. Plus, I noticed how curly his hair was, even when it was so short. Also, Angel's spiky ridiculous hair is so ridiculous. I bet Christian mocked David for it endlessly.

That is all.

Edited To Say: My sister doesn't giggle over Shirtless!Christian Kane - (as he is known around here, regardless of whether he is wearing a shirt or not) - because she is so madly in love with him...but rather because he had his 5XEverything hairstyle. Remember when he was in that boy band with Jensen, which is totally trufax?

Also, the credits tell me Josh Holloway was in the pilot as "Good Looking Guy", but I didn't see him. Someone point out the scene to me so I won't have to go looking, cuz I'm lazy. Thanks.

Now, that is all.
