dodger_sister: (kids)
Today we were driving out by where my little brother lives and we passed this place called "Omega Physical Therapy". It was in this run-down tiny building and my first thought was, "Well, what kind of quality do you expect from a place that serves the societal lower-class breed of omegas?" My second thought was, "I need to spend less time in the Supernatural fandom". So...that happened.

Anyways, we were out that way - far too early in the morning for me - to see The Nephew play his first baseball game of the year. I am tired as hell right now, but it was worth it. Got to sit out in the sun, the smell of the ball-field in the air and watch him play. He got several really good hits (they are young enough at this level though that everybody bats until they get a hit) and he fielded a few balls and made the play to first base twice (I think they only got one official out in the whole game, but at this level basically they cycle through the batting order once and then the inning is over). It was a good day.

In other Nephew news, he called me this week and when I answered the phone, he said, "I just have to ask you something real quick: Who do you think is better; Batman or Wolverine?" What the hell kind of a question is that? Doesn't he know I hate to pick favorites? I went with Wolverine, after much debate, but hoyboy that was a tough choice. What do you guys think? Who's better; Batman or Wolverine?

He also told me that he likes animated movies better than 'real people' movies because he just watched these three Superman movies (by the description he gave me, I think they were the original Christopher Reeve ones) and he thought they were boring. I said, "Buddy, those were made a long time ago when special effects weren't very good yet," and he said, "But no, because, okay, I like when Superman shoots lasers out of his eyes and he didn't even know he could do that until halfway through the third movie. So I had to watch like, uh...five whole hours until he even shot lasers out of his eyes. And that was just boring and stupid." My little man, the film critic.

In other kid news, my aunt is a vegan now (and my mom is a vegetarian apparently) and so The Little Girl Cousin (who is 8) had this box of cookies and she said to them, "These are for you too, but I don't know if you can eat them. You better read what's on the box, because I know you are virgins now." Everyone within earshot busted out laughing and my aunt goes, "No, honey, we're vegans," and The Little Girl Cousin throws her arms up in the air and says, "Well, there are a lot of V words!"

That is all.
dodger_sister: (teen wolf relationships)
Since Teen Wolf starts back up tonight, I thought now would be a good time to put up this post about shippy-ness on this show. Honestly, I could pretty much pair anyone with anyone on Teen Wolf. I mean, give me a pairing and I could make a valid argument for that ship. And in general, yes, I am a multi-shipper and such, but this show, man…no wonder the fandom took off like a shot out the gate. The possibilities are endless and the chemistry abounds all over the fucking place.

So let’s go with the most obvious…for me at least. All the pairs under the cut! )

Also - just because I love them - let’s see some Mrs. McCall/Sheriff Stilinski on the show at some point, please? Please? Just not before I finish my fic.

Speaking of fic and totally off-topic from ‘ships...I am writing this Teen Wolf fic. Mrs. McCall is a major presence throughout it. I’ve written 5,000 words of this story, during which I was calling her ‘Karen’. That is not her name. Her name is Melissa. Uh. Then, I’m watching The Walking Dead. This woman has this major scene and I think, “Is that Teen Wolf mom? No. Although...they both do film in Georgia.” So I look it up. It was her! She was in like four episodes - (one of the Governor’s people) - and her character’s name? Karen. I must have subconsciously realized it was her but then it came out as her Teen Wolf character being named Karen in my fic...idk, it amused me.

And now, t-minus a few hours to the third season premiere!
dodger_sister: (horror)
So, today my aunt took me to therapy and when she came back to pick me up, she had my cousin's kids in the car. The Boy Cousin is about to turn twelve and The Little Girl Cousin is almost eight. We had this conversation upon seeing an ambulance at one of the old folks homes.

Under the cut for spaceage. )

He was so not helping his own cause! She wouldn't take the DVD, in the end. It actually has some bad language in it which may not have been appropriate for The Little Girl Cousin, but considering when she was a toddler and would wake up in the middle of the night, her dad would rock her back to sleep while watching "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", I figure it would probably be okay for her to see Monster Squad.

In TV News - who saw the season finale of Psych?! Holy Shit. Are they serious? And it doesn't come back until the fall! I can't wait that long to find out what happens. They ended on a cliff-hanger! They never end on a cliff-hanger! What is happening in my world?! It can't be. It just can't.

In Sum: I think The Sister and I are going to see "Cabin In The Woods" this weekend. If we don't wear ourselves out first with the bazillionity errands we have to run.

(Why, yes, I did change my 'horror' icon from Josh Hartnett in "30 Days of Night" to a "Monster Squad" icon - what do you mean 'that's not horror'?)
dodger_sister: (television)
My subject line makes me feel like I am writing for TV Guide or something.

Being Human - I enjoy this show a lot. Josh is so freaking cute. But as The BFF pointed out, they do much better when they are together in that house. When the three of them go their own ways, try to do this world without each other, they always end up in trouble. But what I really want to talk about is that thing that happened with Julia...in the most recent episode. )

I can't wait to see what they do for the season finale tonight!

Now Alcatraz...who was watching this show? I enjoyed it. I gave it a shot mostly because I have such a crush on Jorge Garcia. I love him. The rest of the cast is great too - Sam Neill, Parminder Nagra and the new chick who plays the lead. Interesting plots and mythology - like a weekly crime drama meets genre sci-fi - a good combination. But it didn't hit its true potential until the season finale. Don't read this spoiler if you plan on catching up on the first season. )

And finally, Breaking In...Casting spoilers beneath the cut. )

Still, I want to marry Cash and have his geektard little babies. Omg, I love him so much! Who wouldn't want to go on a date where the guy's opening date question is, "If Superman and Wonder Woman had a baby, what would its super power be?" Clearly it could fly, right?

That is all.
dodger_sister: (musicals)
I was just flipping back and forth between two TV shows - one was an SVU episode where the perp was played by Michael Trucco (you know him as Anders on BSG) and A Cinderella Story on ABC Family. This is a weird enough combination as is, but Trucco also played the uncle of Chad Michael Murray’s character on One Tree Hill - so the combo of watching him on SVU and then flipping to a movie starring Chad…look, if I had been stoned, I would have thought I was watching a really messed up episode of One Tree Hill, okay?

Anyways, I saw my grandpa today.

Talk of my neat grandpa and my awesome nephew under the cut. )

In final news, Tivo has recorded another bad SyFy movie starring Jason London for me, this one is called “Snow Beast”. It also has John Schneider. So that’s on for this week sometime in my viewing schedule. I know, I have a sickness, I can't stop watching bad SyFy movies.
dodger_sister: (omg)
It is sleeting out. I came out of physical therapy and it was sleeting. By the time I got in the car, I had ice chunks in my hair. Serious.

Anyways, I am back at physical therapy now. Last week I had my first appointment and the following conversation...under the cut for space and because I don't like Edward Cullen. )

I can't remember the last time I had a normal conversation with someone.

At today's appointment, Kevin and I talked about porn. No, really. I actually said the words, "a street gang of porn stealers". Idek. He started it.

I bet for a second there, he actually thought he missed me. And then I talked about werewolf/vampire mpreg.

ETA: Kevin just showed up at my door. I left my Nintendo DS and my IPod at the clinic so he came by the house to return them. I didn't answer the door because I was in my room playing my music too loud and I didn't hear the door knock. So he calls on the phone and is all, "Hey, don't you answer your door when people knock? It's freezing out here." Like he thinks he might freeze off important body parts or something.

TV Talk!!!

dodger_sister: (television)
Let's talk TV!! Just a few random thoughts I have on a slew of shows I watch…

Some mild spoils for Supernatural and H50. )

NCIS:LA: Nell and Eric were adorable in their uniforms!! Awwwww. You know what made up for Kensi's all-too-brief appearance on H5-0? KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! I am not surprised it was black underwear but it was very sporty. I would have thought the tough chick secretly wore really girly underwear. Not that I've spent an unreasonable amount of time thinking about Kensi's underwear.

Totally spoilery for The Walking Dead and American Horror Story. )

Death Valley: If you are not watching this show - WHY NOT? It's on MTV and you should start watching it right the fuck now. I know, you are all, "But it's on MTV." No, don't let that stop you - it's like COPS but with vampires and werewolves and zombies. And not like an apocalypse, but just like normal everyday life going on with these supernatural beings as a daily part of it. You don't need to know anything about it to jump right in - so JUMP RIGHT IN. Billy is my cop boyfriend and I know he is a douche-idiot, but god I love him. He is like The Todd from "Scrubs" except instead of being a surgeon with a scalpel, he is a cop with a gun. He's like...he's...I can't even explain it to you, but he is like my perfect man. And that probably explains so much about me to all of you.

Glee: Glee came back last night and Tivo missed it!! It didn't tape. Apparently it was listed as a rerun and lots of people missed it because their Tivos/DVRs didn't pick it up. Boo!! I wasn't that excited about its return, but still.. PUCK.

Wilfred: I recently found myself really, really missing this genius little show. I have quite a wait in store. I am really worried about what the ending of the season means for Bear.

Psych: I have waaaaaay too many thoughts, so let's just go with - WHO SAW LASSITER/ZACHARIAH?! Yes, Zachariah like Kurt Fuller. THEY WERE CUDDLING!!!!!!! IT'S CANON ON THE SHOW NOW, RIGHT?! Sadly, Woody (Kurt Fuller) seems to be married.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm: I have started watching these but it is still too early for me to have any thoughts. I like to give all new shows like three episodes before I decide one way or another. They both seem to have good potential though.

There are a few other shows that I watch too, but I think that is all the thoughts I have for now.

In Sum: Billy/Me/The Todd would be my ideal lifemate scenario. Also - KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!!!
dodger_sister: (happy birthday)
I missed several birthdays this month, but I just wanted you all to know I was thinking of you! I had some birthday stories/art ideas, but nothing came to pass as I've been so sick. Still, I hope your days were all awesome and that you got lots of naked singing strippers awesome gifts. I really do love my Flist like bunches!!

To the October birthdays - [livejournal.com profile] candle_beck, [livejournal.com profile] phyllis2779, [livejournal.com profile] grlkat2, [livejournal.com profile] tringic, [livejournal.com profile] preferthemoss, [livejournal.com profile] denyce and [livejournal.com profile] slothy_girl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!!
dodger_sister: (ncis la)
Just popping in to say that I am still alive. I know I haven't replied to comments in like two weeks. I've been keeping up on my Flist though and that is pretty much all the energy I have. I get tired so easily. I was actually pretty sick for a few days last weekend (doctors say food poisoning, I say the flu - but seriously, on top of everything else that has been going on - suckfest). I have been feeling better, except I get so tired. Sitting up for more than an hour is exhausting. And since the doctors said not to push myself if I felt bad, it's been a lot of laying around watching TV and going out of my head (body is tired, mind is still going full tilt). I've written a lot of cracked-out stories in my head while I was laying around - now if only they would magically transfer to my computer.

Crack stories include; Castiel getting kittens and becoming obsessed with dressing them up, a fic where Dean tries to teach Cas about women but it ends up backfiring because Dean gets super jealous, a fic where Sam/Dean/Cas hunt together and um...use corporal punishment when one of them screws up on a job..and a crazy RPS fic in a Mpreg universe where people are allowed to have several spouses (really just an excuse to pair everyone with Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Shut up, my brain just works like that pretty much all the time when I'm bored.

Other things to report....sometimes I tape very bad movies that have some of my favorite actors in them - often bad C horror flicks and SyFy shows. The biggest hits on this are Jason London and Nicholas Brendon. Today the Tivo picked up two movies and I watched one this evening - my choices were "Fire Serpent" with Nicky Brendon or "The Prophecy: Uprising" with Jason London. I picked Fire Serpent. Only it accidentally taped something else. I ended up with "Basilisk - The Serpent King" starring Jeremy London. My mind was blown by this twist. Also, last night I was looking over my one and only Jeremy London RPS fic I ever wrote in my life, which I hadn't looked at in months. It is clearly some sort of sign. I just don't know what it is a sign of. As predicted, it was a bad movie but Jeremy looked good, so whatever. The evil chick was clearly evil based on her accent, though halfway through the movie she lost the accent and was American all of a sudden.

In final news - the most exciting thing to happen to me even if my life weren't lameass right now - NCIS:LA IS CROSSING OVER WITH HAWAII FIVE O!!!!!!!!! If you said to me, "Hey, Dodger, who is the hottest chick on TV right now?" - I would say, "Kensi from NCIS:LA...no, wait, Kono from H5O...no wait, I can't decide!!! But you know what would be awesome? If they were on a show together. If they like stood next to each other and kicked ass together and chased bad guys together and wore awesome boots together and rode motorcycles together and made out with each other."

AND NOW....THOSE THINGS ARE COMING TO MY TV!! (hopefully they will actually ride motorcycles together - my little heart would be so happy!)

It's going to be utter stupid ridiculous crack.

I am so excited.

That is all.
dodger_sister: (drunkards)
Ya'll are lucky I am even here right now - my Plants VS Zombies game came in the mail yesterday. I played for at least three hours. I have at last come up for air. So, since I am back in the world of the living momentarily, I thought I should continue on with the story of my Awesome Vacation.

Firstly, The BFF would like me to tell you all her favorite story from our Roadtrip - (yep, I say Roadtrip with a capital letter) - in which we went through Quebec and no one spoke English. We were walking into a Harvey's - (basically their version of Burger King only better) - and this man runs up to open the door for us - (because Canadians are nice, even the French ones). Then, because it is polite to thank people, and because Merci is one word we do know in French, The BFF responded with a "Merci." The man then proceeds to try to have a full-on conversation with her in French. She just smiled and nodded. Also, ordering from the 16yr old behind the counter, who didn't speak English, was an experience. It involved hand gestures.

And now the rest of my story...and at the end, I married George Weasley. )

Was that long enough? Did I miss anything else, [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm?

Oh, you want pictures?

I know, you all want baby pictures and wedding pictures, but...I have only been doing this LJ thing for a year. I'm still not comfortable putting up pictures of myself on the internet. And I certainly won't put up pictures of other people, because it's weird to be all putting them on my secret journal that is so secret I won't let them read it.

But how about a picture of the view from gorgeous downtown Stowe, Vermont instead?

Our Room With A View... )

And that concludes my epic series. I hope you enjoyed. I now have Zombies to kill.

ETA: Just thought I should give proper credit to The BFF for the amazing pictures. She's quite handy with the camera.

Today blew. )

In Sum: For my Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day - I want recs for fics with animals. No, [livejournal.com profile] casiedearestfic, not Werewolves. I mean, like, Jared runs a rescue shelter or Dean and Sam find a stray dog. Help?

Thanks, people. I'll be in Australia.

Things I tagged forever ago and meant to pimp/point out to the world:

1) Right after Stonehenge Apocalypse came out, a community started up for adult fan works based on the movie. I really had nothing to contribute, but I almost joined anyway, based on the awesome awesomeness of the community name - [livejournal.com profile] acockalypse

2) [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm made the most excellent Supernatural vid ever. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this thing. A lot. Her editing blows me away and the Winchesters - omg, they are so fucked. Like before they are even born. Their whole damn family. Really. It starts with Young Mary running out to greet Young John. And then their world falls down. It has this really cool old film reel effect to it that I adore. There's this fantastic editing on the younger John and Mary and the YEDs back then, mixed with Grown Up Sam and Dean and the YED from now, blended so beautifully together. Then this line "They were one, they were two..." - pay attention to the clips during this part. She uses so many clips I love, this great repeat of Young John getting his neck snapped, Sam getting stabbed in the back, this slo-mo of Wee Dean running to his father. Also, I will never get over my hard-on for YED. But my most favorite part of this vid is the last five seconds or so - Mary and John are so happy and in love, and then the shot at the very very end and the effect goes black and white and oh my god! Also, the lyrics to this song about the date of April 14th, a day on which, historically, bad shit happens. Lyrics can be found here

Watch [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm's awesome vid: Ruination Day

3) [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr did a podfic of some of her old hobbit stories. I read The Care and Feeding of Hobbits pretty early on into my fandom/fan-fic days. I read it a couple times actually. Only to discover, months later, when she wrote me fic for Christmas (Tea and Small Talk!!), that this fantastic writer, whom I loved, was in fact, my sister. Why were either of us surprised that we were both online, writing fan-fic, in the same fandom, both about hobbits? Although, mine were decidedly more perverse than hers. *g* Anyway, you can imagine how I screamed and flailed and ran around her apartment when I realized she was my favorite hobbit gen writer. I mean, come on, how weird and awesome is that? Anyway, check out her podfic anthology of hobbit stories, including the first fic she ever wrote me "Tea and Small Talk" - here

4) Lastly, for my CW RPS friends, and those that may have told me they are writing/thinking of writing Jensen/Chad fic - look what I found! They are kind of squishy cute together in this, plus Dogs! I love Chad's stupid dogs. I love Jared's stupid dogs too. Sun's The Sky

5) It's bad luck to stop on an even number unless it's a dividend of 10 (Yes, it is! Shut up!) Travis Wester singing The Ghostfacers theme song - here

In Sum: I just watched JDM's episode of Angel. Angel and John Winchester clear out a nest of vampires together (I kid you not). Also, I'm pretty sure John Winchester was gay and avenging his boyfriend's death (I kid you not.)

That was totally in sum, shut up.

Beware: Talk of werewolf sex beneath the cut. )

Dear FList:

I apologize. I had to get that off my chest. Hope no one is scarred by that post. I apologize if you have werewolf sex dreams tonight. Trust me, it's not fun.

Now, excuse me, I have to go scrub myself with bleach.
