Distracted By Something Shiny

So, I am finally going to tell you about last Saturday, wherein I met... Jackson Galaxy. That’s right, Jackson Galaxy, renowned cat behaviorist from Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell. And it was AWESOME!!! He is just as cute, nay cuter, in person and super sweet and omg!!!

My sister’s coworker was all, “Jackson Galaxy is coming to this pet store tomorrow and I am going to meet him,” and my sister was like, “WHAAAT?!” and I was like, “OMG, SO JEALOUS!!” And I told my sister, “I kind of want to go, but I have so much going on in the next week and I don’t feel that great and omg, what would I have him sign? I should skip PT tonight and instead make a wallpaper for him to sign!” And my sister was like, “Or we could just pick up his book and have him sign that,” and I was all, “No, it has to be a picture, so it can go in my autograph book with my Sean Astin and Misha Collins and omg…but we shouldn’t even go anyways.” And Sis was like, “Your excited just thinking about it. It’s the only thing you have going on this week that you actually want to do, so we should do it. And take Hiccup, of course.” So we did.

It’s been so long since I’ve done the celebrity/convention thing that I was like super flustered, goodness. Plus, you know, he is the man of my dreams - hot, sweet, pet lover, rockstar, snazzy dresser, tattoos, drives a pink convertible, has a guitar case with a guitar in it and a guitar case with cat toys in it, like omg, I love him. I love him. And now I’ve met him. And I got to show off Hiccup to the world and oh, Hiccup doesn’t know it, but Jackson Galaxy has made his life better. We never would have been brave enough to take a 5 week old, 3-legged kitten if we weren’t armed with all of Jackson’s advice.

That was my weekend last weekend. Throw that in with a specialist appointment and a missed dose of Lexapro - oops - and no wonder I have been down most of the week. But you know what? Totally worth it. Jackson Galaxy is totally worth it.

Ya'll are lucky I am even here right now - my Plants VS Zombies game came in the mail yesterday. I played for at least three hours. I have at last come up for air. So, since I am back in the world of the living momentarily, I thought I should continue on with the story of my Awesome Vacation.

Firstly, The BFF would like me to tell you all her favorite story from our Roadtrip - (yep, I say Roadtrip with a capital letter) - in which we went through Quebec and no one spoke English. We were walking into a Harvey's - (basically their version of Burger King only better) - and this man runs up to open the door for us - (because Canadians are nice, even the French ones). Then, because it is polite to thank people, and because Merci is one word we do know in French, The BFF responded with a "Merci." The man then proceeds to try to have a full-on conversation with her in French. She just smiled and nodded. Also, ordering from the 16yr old behind the counter, who didn't speak English, was an experience. It involved hand gestures.

And now the rest of my story...( and at the end, I married George Weasley. )

Oh, you want pictures?

I know, you all want baby pictures and wedding pictures, but...I have only been doing this LJ thing for a year. I'm still not comfortable putting up pictures of myself on the internet. And I certainly won't put up pictures of other people, because it's weird to be all putting them on my secret journal that is so secret I won't let them read it.

But how about a picture of the view from gorgeous downtown Stowe, Vermont instead?

It occurs to me that, given the icon I used for this post is an icon from "Oz", ya'll might think I just got sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Um...no. It's actually my current "tattoo" icon, as I am now about to SHARE PICS OF MY TATTOO WITH YOU. (I know, I know, it only took me 6 months). But I figured since I got the tat for my one year drug-free celebration, and today yesterday being my 18 MONTHS CLEAN, that it is a good day to share.

Yep...18 MONTHS! In which I haven't swallowed a pill stronger than a regular strength Tylenol. ( Cut for emotional rambling. )

I should probably point out that this doesn't include alcohol, as I did get a little tipsy on vacation. I allow myself a drink or two like twice a year, but I really am a disgrace to my Irish heritage in that respect and don't really enjoy it that much anyways.

Anyways, I would have made this post yesterday - I actually typed it all up and everything - but I couldn't find my photos I had taken of the tattoo. I searched my computer for the phrase "tat" and all I got were pictures of Chad Michael Murray. What has my life become? Thankfully, My Wonderful Awesome BFF took some new ones for me. Thank you, liptonrm - (I could say it a million times a day for a million things, babe!)

I designed the tattoo myself and then I sent it to tringic - (My Girl!) - and she cleaned up the lines for me so it was perfect and exactly what I wanted, because my version was nowhere near good enough for my arm - (tringic is an amazing artist and she totally pulled this out for me and I can't thank her enough! Seriously). It is an Ankh, which symbolizes rebirth - and a Sun, which also symbolizes rebirth. I don't just feel like the rebirth was about getting off the pills, but I am also trying to work more on other things about myself as well. And I started writing again and I realized how much I missed it. So I thought the ankh and sun were good choices. Plus, I have always been oddly obsessed with the ankh in general, dating back to a necklace I had when I was like 14. The tattoo is on my left arm.
