So, any of you who even remotely pay attention to sports, have heard by now that my beloved Detroit Tigers are out for the year. Boston took the ALCS and are in the World Series now and we’ve gone home. We were having such a good run, each game being so close, and that last game, I really thought we had it and then the fucking last couple of innings just slammed us. But, that’s the end of the season, so onward to the next. I also have like no interest in the World Series this year. Usually I can say I have a preference for who wins, but not this year. Because Boston just kicked our ass in the ALCS, so I don’t want them to win. But St Louis kicked our ass back in the 2006 Series, so I don’t want them to win. And I can’t even root for an underdog because they have both won 2 Series in the last decade, so it’s not even like, “Oh let’s root for the team that hasn’t taken one in 20 years.” So, whatever, I’m out. On the upside, it’s much easier to keep up with my TV watching now.

I will also say, in a fangirl manner, how squeeful I was when Tori Hunter went over that wall into Boston’s bullpen (well, not that itself, that was bad) and the Red Sox put everything aside to check on him and bring a trainer over to look at him and someone went out and opened the gate to the bullpen so Austin Jackson could get in there and check on his boy. Like, competition aside, this is a human being who just took a major fall and tumble and I was so happy to see them jump on looking out for him like that. But I’m not surprised I enjoyed that - I get a fangirl thrill when the catcher’s mask comes flying off and the dude in the batter’s box for the other team runs over and fetches it for him. Or when someone makes a great diving catch and even the dude who just got called out because of it, has to clap for him because it was such an awesome catch. It’s like watching actors from competing shows joking around with each on red carpets and shit - it makes me happy.

In other news, I am still feeling under the weather. I was sick (and I’m not sure that virus isn’t still lingering) and then I took the trip to Chicago (totally worth it) and then I had my Awesome Time of Month (why is this still necessary?) and now I’m just like, blah. My stamina is way, way down, I think, is the main problem. I can get an hour, maybe two, out of myself each day and that’s about all I have. It comes and goes and I think the worst part is not being able to plan my day because I don’t know how I’ll feel from hour to hour. Decreased stamina happens when I’ve been so ill that I am literally laid up hardcore from it, which I was with that stomach thing. Because laying around for more than one day is really bad for me, I lose my energy levels so quickly. But if it is still going on by like the end of the first week of November, I’m going to get some labwork done, just to be sure.

Anyway, this is only the 6th time I’ve posted this month, which kind of shows where I’m at healthwise, but also, I dunno, the change in weather is kind of bumming me out too, I think. I like Fall, I actually really do, but the rapid change from 80 degrees to the 50s basically overnight must be having an effect on me. I’ve noticed I haven’t been around LJ as much, so if you were wondering, that’s why. Hopefully I’ll be back up in the saddle soon.

Now I shall talk about the Detroit Tigers, because we are coming back with a fiery vengeance.

Talk of guys in uniforms under the cut. )

Here is that amazing catch Berry made in Friday’s game that stopped a homerun.

I wish I had a better video of it but watch him somersault and come up with the ball!

Also, finally, congrats to Prince Fielder for winning the homerun derby in the AllStar game!! (I seriously started to type “Cecil” Fielder instead. Lol) I will admit, Prince looks so much like his dad and he plays first base as well and even the way he hits the ball and the stances he takes look so similar to his father that I sometimes get dejavu. Cecil was my little brother’s favorite player growing up - he was why my brother always wanted to get to come in from the infield and try first base. I wonder if he still has all his cards - he had quite the collection of Cecil cards. At any rate, I get thrown back in time sometimes when I see Prince do something that reminds me so much of his dad.

That is all.

Awhile back I promised you a therapy story, so here it goes.

I started getting massage therapy to my neck and omg is this guy good. After a couple of sessions I may have said, "Um, is it sexual harassment if I ask you to marry me?" I told Kevin I just wanted the guy's hands and Kevin was like, "Yeah, I need his hands to come to work with the rest of him, thanks,"

Adorable Italian Geekboys Under The Cut. )

We are having a Fourth of July cookout this year - (I am betting we get at least 30 people to come) - and I kind of wanted to invite Massage Therapist. But I am off from therapy at the moment which makes it difficult to ask. If I was still working with him, I could be like all casual in our session, "You should drop by if you aren't doing anything." But now if I want to invite him, I have to call him at work or email him through their official site (which seems a little stalkerish). I am not even looking to date the guy - I just like hanging out with cool geeks. I guess I will veto that idea. It is still shaping up to be a pretty awesome barbeque though.

I have made art for [livejournal.com profile] anyothergirl415's birthday! Looking at pictures of Shawn and Gus being adorkable together was not a hardship, let me tell you. I would have had this up yesterday, on her actual birthday, but since I am no longer going to therapy, I can't seem to figure out the date. I know how to count, I swear!

Anyways, [livejournal.com profile] anyothergirl415 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have some Shawn and Gus.

Gus, don't be these two wallpapers of us under this cut. )

Why isn't Psych on this summer? They have pulled it from their summer lineup. But it's my summer show - my lj tag even says so! I know it'll be back in the fall, but boo not filling my summer with Shawn and Co.

Anyhoo...Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] anyothergirl415!!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Craig Ferguson love each other. It's true.

Don't believe me? Watch this.

Now go to youtube and search "Jeffrey Dean Morgan Craig Ferguson" and watch all the other ones. They have hearts in their eyes for each other. I squee for them.

You may notice how when you search on Youtube, the search bar offers you several options to choose from. In this case, and further proof that their love is real, it offers you the following options...

jeffrey dean morgan interview - jeffrey dean morgan ps i love you - jeffrey dean morgan kiss - jeffrey dean morgan and hilarie burton - jeffrey dean morgan supernatural - jeffrey dean morgan movies - jeffrey dean morgan bloopers - jeffrey dean morgan singing - jeffrey dean morgan craig ferguson

My point is this...JDM IS GOING TO BE ON THE LATE LATE SHOW TUESDAY THE 8TH!! (or technically Wednesday, since it is on at 12:30 am, but whatever). TIVO HAS SPOKEN!!

Just thought you might want to know. Carry on.
dodger_sister: (hug)
So, I noticed last night, that according to my info page - the last post I made; the random one about my cousin's kid visiting, and seeing my grandpa, and meeting my physical therapist's daughter - WAS MY 200TH POST!!!

I find it amusing that it was just random shit from my daily life and not me fangirl-ing something - because when I got this LJ, I figured it would only contain me squeeing/ranting over random fangirl shit. I never thought I would just type up posts about having a nice visit with my little cousin. I certainly never thought I'd feel comfortable enough here to talk about physical therapy, or the fact that I even go to physical therapy at all. It actually makes me very happy that it was just a post about my life. I don't know why.

HERE...HAVE A PICSPAM IN HONOR OF THIS MOMENTOUS OCCASION!!

This is Elijah Wood greeting Orlando Bloom. I'm told it's a customary greeting for Hobbits and Elves. As is tradition.

HUGS & KISSES & CUDDLES, OH MY! )

Also, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] waywardson_lvr!! Hope it was grand, darling!! For your birthday, have this picture of JDM and his best girl. It totally keeps with the theme of the picspam, since they are TOTALLY CUDDLING!!! Also, BELLY!!

One More For The Road...

First, I must say...Ta Ma De Hun Dan - as far as I can tell, translates to "Mother-Humping Son of a Bitch." My source.

Or, roughly speaking, translates to - IS THAT SNOW ON THE GROUND?!?! Because, yes, it is.

Yesterday I went shopping for new summer shorts and pjs and today there is snow on the ground. And not just a little. It took my sister an extra 45 minutes to get to work and she passed eight accidents on the way there.

WHAT THE EVERLOVING HELL, PEOPLES?!

I knew as soon as I changed my "weather" icon to the cute little kid splashing in the puddles, that we would get another hit. Honestly, we always get one last snow in April but being that it is already the 18th, I just figured we were skipping it this year.

Clearly not.

Such bullshit. I've been walking around in short sleeves and no coat all week. Damn Global Warming and that elusive Man-Bear Pig.

In other news - I just finished the final special features on the final disc of the final season of Buffy.

My Buffy viewing experience is over. I have now seen all the episodes and done all the commentaries and special features there is to be had in this world. I am a little sad-face.

On the upside - This means I get to move onto the special features on season five of "Angel", WHERE I AM TOLD THERE ARE COMMENTARIES WITH BOTH DAVID AND CHRISTIAN TOGETHER - (and that they are naked in bed feeding each other chocolate while they do the commentaries). I AM CLEARLY MOST EXCITED!!!!

And I rediscovered something I had forgotten - Nicholas Brendon is the perfect man for me. He is the kind of guy who says, "This was really hard," and then laughs and says, "I said hard." I am the kind of woman who does that too. I remember seeing him do a Q&A a few years back, and being highly amused and happy with how he is a raunchy man with a 12yr old boy's sense of humor and the mouth of a sailor. - he is also a very gracious sweet man, but that's not the point of this story - On the special features of season seven, he does a commentary with Drew Goddard and in the first fifteen minutes he makes reference to his penis and erections several times, until finally Drew is all, "Stop it. Just stop it."

Nicky, I <3 you.

They also had a conversation about how James had his shirt off A LOT.
Drew: Poor, James. He must have gotten tired of it.
Nicky: Uh...yeah.

And finally, even when they are just showing clips of it during a featurette - the scene where Xander tells Dawn that they are alike, that they are the people who see everything, that he saw what she did and that she is extraordinary...it melts me with how much I love Xander and tears me up every damn time.

Oh, "Buffy" - I will miss you. Until I rewatch you again soon.

(Hawaii Five-O came on while I was typing this and I had to stop to watch that. So on the H50 front - I have seen a friendship going on with Kono and Danny since the beginning, but the way he yelled at her about rules and procedure tonight...I can totally make an argument for shipping these two. Danny yells because he loves, after all).
dodger_sister: (jamestkirk-purely_distel)
Go see "Chris Pine on a Runaway Train" - er, I mean, "Unstoppable". (We had been calling it that for weeks and when we got to the ticket counter to ask for our tickets, none of us could remember the name of it...so my sister asked the ticket girl for three tickets to see Chris Pine on a Runaway Train. She laughed and then sold them to us.) Go see this movie. Seriously. It was like, okay...fast action, based on a true story, really cute guys, fantastic cast, very well edited, beautifully and interestingly shot, heroic...and seriously, are there two guys in this world with better smiles than Chris Pine and Denzel Washington? I don't think so. It was EXCITING!!! It was "on the edge of your seat" exciting. At one point, there is a daring mission to stop the train and I was on the edge of my seat for real and I looked over and my sister had her hands over her face - that's how exciting it was. I also loved how gritty they made the Pennsylvania train life look with the way they shot it. Go see this movie!! Just excellent fun all around.

We also rented "Knocked Up". I like Judd Apatow's movies and I love Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd, but I hate Katherine whatshername, so I wasn't all that excited when we put it in. And then...FUNNIEST FUCKING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!! I don't think I have ever laughed so much during a movie, ever in my life, ever. I laughed through the whole damn thing. It did have some of that "rough" humor to it, but not without reason. Boys are gross. She let one knock her up. Ewwww. But also, so sweet and I am seriously thinking about writing fic for this movie. Or at least, Paul Rudd/Seth Rogen, because omg you guys, they are too cute together. We were in hysterical giggles for the rest of the night, it was like this movie knocked something loose in us. Out of habit, my sister put it back in the netflix thing and mailed it back when we were done...and then two days later we both wanted to watch it again. I think I will buy it for us with my Christmas money. GO WATCH THIS MOVIE RIGHT NOW!! BUY IT AND WATCH IT EVERY TIME YOU FEEL SAD AND I DARE YOU NOT TO LAUGH LIKE A LUNATIC!!!

That is all.

I DON'T CARE PEOPLES WHO KNOW ME IN REAL LIFE - MOCK ME, GO AHEAD - I LOVE HIM!! AND HIS PRETTY BOYFRIEND, STEVE! - I WANT TO CLIMB ON YOUR BACK, STEVE! I WANT TO CLIMB ON YOUR BACK TOO, CHRISTIAN!

I was suppose to be doing something right now, but I can't remember what because CHRISTIAN IS SINGING "MARY CAN YOU COME OUTSIDE" IN MY EAR RIGHT NOW and the Intro story that he tells before the song starts about beating the shit out of that guy who liked to throw his girlfriend around - OMG! I'M GONNA LISTEN TO IT AGAIN BECAUSE I <3 THAT SONG TO PIECES!!

Look, [livejournal.com profile] tringic, look what you did. I have to go to bed!!

I DON'T CARE, I LOVE HIM!!! )

I have been completely unproductive tonight and I don't care. CHRISTIAN+STEVE 4EVAH!!

Things that have been brought to my attention as of late -

[livejournal.com profile] liptonrm, here is an interview with Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Fallon, if you're interested.

He's such a geek, I love him

[livejournal.com profile] oselle, I know you like to watch Bollywood movies. This seems like you need to be drunk to watch it, though.

It's kind of Slash-tastic - Three Idiots

[livejournal.com profile] baylorsr, Look, it's the cats in the morning!

Feed Me, Seymour!

Also, Peoples, this is what happens when you try to Eat The Babies!

Come Here, Kitty!

And lastly, for those of you who attended FanGirl Central's Jensen Ackles Weekend (<--oh, what would you have me call it, you know it was our Jensen Ackles Weekend!) - and were all like, "I can't believe we can't get our hands on some Eric Brady."

I give you, Eric Brady Returns - look at the hair!

And then the ones that person posted from their old VCR tapes - these aren't all the episodes he did, but, here, Jensen Ackles in Days Of Our Lives #1

Also, click on my you accidently did porn tag and get the one where Eric Brady did porn.

And, under the cut, you'll find some Days group promo shots. I'll leave it up to you to decide - a) sequel to The Outsiders or b) cover for a gay porno. Now the question remains, which of these guys was sleeping with Jensen before he met his true love, Jared? (What? Did you forget for a minute whose LJ you were reading?)

I'm sorry, Jensen, forgive me for posting these )

Carry On.

I feel better. I actually slept last night and my back only hurts the normal amount that I look forward to each month.

To celebrate - I give you vid recs for "Leverage". Even though - I am actually serious here - I don't even watch that show. Not like when I claim I don't watch "One Tree Hill" and you all know I'm a big stupid liar-head.

I actually don't watch "Leverage". It's a long story and I don't want to mention anything - coughcoughmickeybricksanddannybluecoughcough - but I do love me some Christian Kane and heck, yeah, Aldis is quite adorable on that show.

"How do you know, if you don't even watch that show?" Well, there may have been one late night watching of anything that popped up under the search of "Christian Kane" on The YouTube. May have been. Possibly.

And occasionally I think I could ship Hardison and Eliot even though I don't even watch that show.

"How can you ship two people from a show you don't even watch?"

See the boys play Rock, Paper, Scissors

See the boys fight over a shirt

See the boys get pissy with each other and then give the love

See the boys gets pissy cuz apparently Eliot is an un-American dick who doesn't like baseball

Questions? "Those weren't vids. We want recs. Fan-Made-Music-Video Recs!" Well, if you want sexy-sex, go someplace else (or that'll be a different post on a different day). Instead, for today at least, I give you vids that crack my shit up and made me feel monumentally better the last few days.

Hardison is fine with it if Eliot is gay

Hardison and Eliot are Superheros (that's right, Tenacious D! style)

Leverage done to the Duck Tales Theme Song (omg, remember this song?)

Okay, Hardison and Eliot and Dawson's Creek - wait, I mean Parker - are adorable together, it's true, plus I now like this song

And lastly, yes, I went looking for Christian Kane, but I may think Aldis is all squishy cute now

"How can we convince you to watch this show? How we say?!"

You probably can't. But go ahead and try. Hit me with the sexy vid recs. I like explosions. And cute squee friendships don't hurt when trying to con me into something. Also, how come there weren't any music vids of Eliot being all adorable? Not that I don't like the sexy hot of him with the beatings and the punchings, but can a girl get some ridiculous cute?

In sum - don't forget tomorrow is Stonehenge Apocalypse Day! (okay, that's not in sum at all). Expect a ridiculous cracktastic review by Monday. Probably mostly describing Misha's clothes.
dodger_sister: (glee-mikesmile-driftingaway)
Okay - if you are on my flist or whatever and get a notice like everyday that I have uploaded a new userpic - yeah, sorry and that's just going to keep happening. I swear I just went looking for one Puck icon and I found like a bazillion Glee and Supernatural icons and some other stuff and yeah. I can only have 15, so I seem to be just randomly rotating them and I don't see that stopping anytime in the near future, at least not while I'm all in my LJ infancy and everything is shiny and new. So, heads up on that.

Now, Glee episode discussion for 1.21 "Funk", because - omg, George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars, baby! And Puck and Finn! And some other stuff. )

That is all.
dodger_sister: (glee-dreamon-ilikethequiet)
Firstly, Fandom news - look I'm branching out in the world of LJ. I joined the Star_Trek newsleter and the Star Trek RPS Comm. Just to mix it up with my SPN. And because, Space Cowboys! [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr, [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm, I blame the Starship Impala re-read, thank you.

I also joined the Glee newsletter and several fic communities. For one, because - Glee! For two, because - Puck! And for three, because I have fic to post soon.

I made a few new icons (Steve Carlson's boots and Dodger from Oliver & Co.) and ransacked the internet for a ton more (Lost, Ian, Glee, SPN, RPS). Sadly, I still don't have a decent Chad Michael Murray icon. I tried to make one but all my CMM pics are pixel-ated all wrong and I can't seem to make it work. Fear not, I will prevail.

Over the holiday weekend, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth and [livejournal.com profile] liptonrm came to visit. We watched Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 13. I say, who doesn't love Basher? Don Cheadle - yes. Accent - yes. Slightly British-punk clothing style - yes. Explosives - hell to the yes.

It also never ceases to amaze me that all those years ago, my then 14 year old cousin, convinced me to love Scott Caan with him. He had the biggest man-crush. I'm sure he's gotten over it. I haven't.

[livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth brought me birthday presents. Whiffle Ball for my Nintendo DS (I have finally mastered the pitching. Am still working on the batting.) The wonderfully horrible movie "Axe" starring Jason London, some chicks and some crazy serial killer. I look forward to its awfulness and his lickable, lickable-ness. And finally, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I loved the music in this! God, I am such a sucker for musicals. And I am totally crushing on Neil Patrick Harris right now. Between this and Glee, I want to take that boy home. Immediately. And do dirty bad things to him. Plus, a duet.

And after the initial shock of the ending, I was like, "Hmm, that makes so much sense. It's all twisted and delicious." Nathan Fillion says in the behind-the-scenes, something to the effect of "What did you think was gonna happen? You should know better by now."

The Musical commentary was genius. Most notably, Nathan sings a song called "I am better than Neil", and then Neil and Nathan and Jed Whedon sing a song all about the video game they played together while filming the show (Nathan is such a gaming geek, how am I only discovering this about him now?). And at the end, they may slip a line in a song that basically says "If you've made it through this musical commentary, you are a f-ing nerd."

Thank you so so much, [livejournal.com profile] hiyacynth. Kisses and Smooshies.

Also, the nephew came over Sunday night and slept over. We watched Backyardigans before bed (he's 4). I had never seen that show before. It was adorable and something I could stand to sit through again, unlike most of the shows approved by his parents (we watched every episode of Scooby-Doo that we own, twice now, and I keep forgetting to record more Superwhy!, so Backyardigans was a nice treat.) They sing in it and during one song my nephew throws up his hands and declares "I'm gonna have this song in my head for like a week."

In the morning, he got out his Big Wheel that was too big for him last year. He has finally mastered it but now I'm wishing I bought him a regular bike. Why do you sit in like a half-laying down position on the Big Wheel? It can't possibly be comfortable. Then my cosuin brought her boys over and they ran through the crazy sprinkler we got this year. It's a long tube with little spouts on it that wiggle back and forth in a sweeping arch, several of them, and sprays, literally, everywhere. It was really not hot enough, but three kids between the ages of 4 and 6, didn't really notice.

Then we went and saw Shrek 4 and no matter how many times I see them, the Dronkey babies squish my insides. As does Puss-in-Boots' big giant eyes. Plus, Jane Lynch and Jon Hamm as Ogres! They can make Shrek movies until I die and I would be quite happy, thank you. (Hmm, maybe I want a dronkey baby icon?)

Hope everyone else's weekend was spectacular!
dodger_sister: (dodger-oliver&co-dodger_sister)
Three very important things before I run off to enjoy my holiday weekend.

Glee - Puck can be my baby-daddy any day of the week. I loved this week's episode so fricking much. Tina! Tina! Tina! Finally, some quality stage time and omg Santana rocked on that song and the whole vampire thing was pure genius. Kurt's dad, I heart him so much. That whole scene in the basement bedroom with Finn - the look on all their faces. Oh man, plus the Lady Gaga numbers - I admit to totally having a huge thing about Lady Gaga's music lately.

So, in honor of that, and having not really anything to do with Glee at all, I present you with the fan-made music videos that introduced me to Lady Gaga's music - Supernatural and Star Trek style.

Bad Romance, Wincest of an f-ed up nature, I love this vidder

Poker Face, The Winchester brothers like girls

Not having anything to do with Lady Gaga but totally related to Glee, My Life Would Suck Without Supernatural

The Star Trek Poker Face vid

And last but not least, Misha Collins talks about Glee and what a bad dancer Finn is

Secondly, Iron Man 2 is excellent and filled with slashy goodness. It was better than the first one, if that's even possible. Oh wait, it is possible, because as good as the chemistry was with Terrence Howard - this one has Don Cheadle, in military uniform. And Sam Rockwell, who yeah plays Justin Hammer the arch nemesis of Stark Industries, but dude - it's Sam Rockwell. I was chewing on my straw when he had this little dance scene, and my straw went flying across the room. I nearly died.

The first thing I said as the lights came on was "I have to go home and write Tony/Rhodey slash like right now." At the end, on the rooftop, I thought "Holy shit, there is about to be some threesome-rooftop-sex" cuz dude, seriously. I didn't think it could be better or slashier or more explosions and more funny or anything than the first, and yet...it was.

Also - Pepper! I so want to write some femslash - cuz how hot would Pepper be with MoneyPenny from James Bond? Seriously.

And now, an inside look at my crazy brain.

Elijah Wood hosted SNL many years ago and did a skit where Frodo lived in an apartment with Gollum.

Frodo and Gollum live together, sitcom opening title

Sometime later, I dreamed that Charlie and Hurley from Lost were private investigators who also lived in an apartment together.

When I said "It must have been the same complex where Frodo and Gollum live", my friend informed me that Dobby and Kreecher from Harry Potter should have a place there too.

After the reveal of Gabriel on Supernatural, I thought that maybe Castiel and Gabriel should live there too.

And most recently, (yes, this apartment complex has been growing for a long time in my head), a friend pointed out these videos to me and it became clear that a) I would watch Jacob and Smoke (or whatever the hell his name is) in a spin-off series and b) they should live in what I am now calling the Lost Island Apartment Complex.

Video evidence that Jacob and Smoke would make good additions to any community get-together.

Jacob is going to get sued for sexual harrasment if he doesn't knock off the touching

They just want a spin-off!

Antics with a copy machine

So, now I have the almost-complete list:
2A) Frodo and Gollum
2B) Jacob and Smoke
2C) Castiel and Gabriel
2D) Dobby and Kreecher
2E) Charlie and Hurley (and sometimes Sawyer, because he worked with them at the dream-state private investigator office.)

Now, I just need a 2F and I'm all set...

That is all from me and my crack-induced insanity. Everyone enjoy your weekend.
dodger_sister: (oc group hug-hiyacynth)
I'm off for awhile. I've got to go deal with Real Life for a bit and it's anyone's guess how long that'll take. Hopefully, I'll be back to playing with my new shiny LJ-toy in two weeks.

Until then...I leave you with these:
(Now, let's see if I can add a link)

Look, Scott Grimes and Kevin Durand and my head exploded.

Oh, the Vortex.
