First, let me say CONGRATS to the Red Sox’s David Ortiz on his 2,000th hit of his career!! That’s an astounding feat! Even if it came during a horrible beating Detroit was taking at the hands of Boston. Seriously, 4 to 4 game going into the bottom of the 6th inning, a great little back and forth on us pulling ahead and then them and then us…until the bottom of the 6th, when IDEK you guys, they just wouldn’t stop hitting the fucking ball! We lost that sucker 20-4 and I swear, it was through no fault of our own - Boston’s bats were like dosed in gasoline and lit on fire or something. Still, Ortiz 2k hit was pretty cool to see and I thought it was super sweet when one of the cops on duty at the stadium came over to give him a hug.

In TV news, NO, SERIOUSLY, Camp had a THREESOME on it! And a F/M/M threesome at that!! I mean, damn…it’s a sweet little summer family dramedy on NBC and they pulled out a threesome! And showed it in a positive light too. Spoilers, if there is anyone at all watching this show. ) It was so exactly what he needed in his life right then and they didn’t make a joke out of it or show it having negative consequences or anything. I mean, they did do the fade-to-black on the actual scene, so we didn't get to see anything, but still...Go, Camp!

In writing news, I think I may have stalled out on my huge beast of a fic. Eep. It’s at 21k right now and about half finished - (IDEK, it was suppose to be 6k, tell me how this happened!) - but I have been doing some art and visiting with friends and Dad’s birthday and I’ve been kind of depleted on my spoons, so I haven’t done much writing past the 2,500 PWP fic I wrote last week. So mostly it’s just been awhile since I touched the beast-fic and when I went back to it this week, I struggled to get 600 words out just to finish the one scene. I think maybe the thing to do is to step back for a second while I write a birthday fic for a friend and then when that is done, I may need to read through the story, all 21k of it - (which I haven’t done since it passed 8k) - and just get the feel and the flow of it again. Maybe reading through everything I have written so far will help, as long as I refrain from doing any edits and just read it to get back into it again.

Have a good weekend, everybody!

So, Wednesday I wrote a scene in a fic and then half of the next scene. And when I went back, the earlier scene was gone. Just…gone. I don’t know what happened to it! My sister tried to help me recover it, but it was a no-go. It was such a good scene too, the banter was spot-on. It was only 9pm and I had planned on writing until 10, but I was so upset about it and suddenly I felt too exhausted to even keep my eyes open. I literally climbed into bed and got under the covers at 9 at night.

But after I got in bed, I was flipping channels and I came across Iron Man 2, just in time for Coulson to tell Tony Stark that he would, ‘gladly taser you and then watch Supernanny while you drool on the carpet.’ Coulson always makes me feel better. Then my sister brought my IPad in and said she had been watching Community vids on it. We just started a rewatch - (apparently this is all my sister will ever want to watch from now on, but I can’t really complain about that) - and we were wondering how many scenes we would be able to recognize now that we have seen the full run. We noted that one of the scenes vidders use a lot in Jeff/Annie vids is actually about how Annie is in love with Troy while Jeff is a manipulative bastard, but it looks like something else entirely when set to music.

I spent a while watching Community vids myself and then decided to read some Community fic. There was this one story where Annie ends up dating the Black Rider - (there is actually a character tag for ‘Black Rider’ on AO3, btw) - whose name is Josh because obviously and then Jeff gets all jealous and I didn’t realize it was 20,000 words until I was already invested! I spent a good hour+ reading that - it was fun. There was this one scene where Abed is giving Jeff advice and Jeff asks Abed if anyone ever tells him how important he is and Abed says, “Troy tells me everyday.” Omg, you guys, The Feels!

On Thursday, I felt like crap and I think maybe I have an ear infection, idk, but that explains some of the tiredness the night before. I spent most of the afternoon reading fanfic and I am putting together a rec list, cuz there were some good ones in there. Then, in the evening, I made myself tackle the missing scene in my fic again because I knew if I let it sit, it would be weeks before I went back to it. I think I recaptured it pretty well, but the banter isn’t nearly as good as it was the first time around. But I pressed on and finished the scene after it as well, so about 3k written this week. I’ll take that.

The month of June’s word count - wherein half my words were dedicated to Teen Wolf! Also, I finished two WIPs - one of which has been sitting on my computer for like two years now! It was a very productive month, mostly I think because I decided to try this trial run thing of doing one writing-related activity everyday; be it writing or posting or editing. Even if it was only ten minutes, it was something, every day. It also helped me clear out my ‘written but not edited’ folder, so I have a line of things now that are ready to post. I think next month I should focus more on posting than anything else, just to get that folder cleared out!

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

June, 2013
Day One: 1,300 words of Avengers/OUaT fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week One: 1,400 words of Christian/Jensen PWP. Completed.
1,200 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
Week Two: 2,000 words of Danny/Stiles fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Three: 4,200 words of Teen Wolf Danny fic.
Week Four: 750 words of Teen Wolf Danny fic. Completed.
1,250 words of J2 Clothes fic. Completed.

12,100 words written in June!

You guys! I know it is jinxing things or whatever to add up my word count thus far, but I did it anyways and…I am at 50,000 words for the year! That’s counting January thru June - literally exactly 50,000 words in six months! When my yearly goal is 100k, so I am perfectly on track so far! Awesome.

So, The Nephew and I wrote a fic this weekend. By which I mean, he told me what to type and I typed it. This is the second time we have done this together - the first time being last year when he was here for Christmas break. The first story - The Experiment - was about 300 words. This story - The Big Battle, a sequel to The Experiment - was about 1,400 words!

He still seems to have trouble with segue-ways, because Wolverine randomly gets up from a conversation with Xavier and goes running out of the house and up a mountain to fight someone…but The Nephew has discovered ‘setup’. He knows you can’t just start your story wham-bang in the plot. In this one, he has an argument start between Pyro and Wolverine that Xavier has to sort out and in the middle of sorting it out, they have to fight Doctor Octopus and at the end, Pyro and Wolverine make-up. He is also including humor pieces - (people talking with their mouths full) - and this time around, I decided he was old enough to start thinking about descriptors, so I was prompting him with, “What does it sound like when everyone can hear them fighting? What does the room Doc Ock has them held captive in look like?,” etc and he picked it up startling fast. By the end, he was offering his own details without prompting! Why yes, I am a stupidly proud aunt.

And then some negative things happening with my dad under this cut. )

But today I arted! I had been having the urge for a few weeks and then I reorganized my art supplies and they were calling to me. I just did some rough drafts today, but I like how they turned out and I hope to finalize everything this weekend. It just felt so good to break out my pencils again and I got to try my oil pastels, which I hadn’t used yet. I haven’t arted since I did my last big project like two years ago and I just realized how much I missed it and how de-stressing it can be. I’ll scan everything in when it is finished and share with you guys.

I clearly set out with goals in mind for the month of May, because look at all those completed fics! No WIPs finished out last month, but two awesome birthday stories and a Mother’s Day fic for my sister, which is all good in my book. (Though it reminds me that I still haven’t shared The Nephew’s birthday fic with you all - will get on that this next month, I swear!)

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

May, 2013

Uh. It seems I forgot to put this up last month. That explains why it was still listed in my ‘word-count’ document. Oops. So today I’ll do double-duty of April’s word count and then I’ll put up May’s as well. Writing has been going really well though, so I am happy! And hey, look, this is the month I wrote some Buffy fic!

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

April, 2013
Week One: 1,000 words of Leverage AU.
Week Two: 1,800 words of Dean/Cas fic. Completed. (already posted!)

As you can see, last month I spent a lot of time working on a Teen Wolf fic. It was one of those stories that was meant to be much shorter and then took on a life of its own quite suddenly, so that all the scenes were playing out like a movie in my head at the oddest times. In the height of it, my inspiration was coming like a frenzy. I love when that happens. It has slowed since then, considerably, but due to that flutter of inspiration, I at least now have a comprehensive outline for the plot. I'm just going to have to keep plugging away at it. I also managed my second Chicago Fire fic last month!

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

March, 2013
Week One: 1,050 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
Week Two: 2,050 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
Week Three: 1,850 words of Teen Wolf Family fic.
Week Four: 2,200 words of Chicago Fire Episode fic. Completed. (already posted!)

7,150 words written in March!

This month I've been all over the place when it comes to fic writing, it seems like a different fandom every week. But I have also set aside some time to work on The Nephew's birthday story, which I hope to have finished by the end of this week. In light of knowing what he is fannish over these days, anyone want to try to guess what fandom his story is in?

Just getting this in under the cut! Last month's word count. Last month I worked on a few things; more of my Leverage Apartment AU - (which is shaping up to be a lot longer and way more involved than my original idea was when I started writing it!) - my Johanna/Annie Hunger Games fic - (whoo, it's finally finished, after months of letting it sit) - and one little piece of crack based on a smartass remark from my sister about Legolas that highly amused us both. That’s one more WIP checked off my list! All in all, a pretty good month.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

February, 2013
Week One: 1,250 words of Johanna/Annie fic.
Week Two: 1,100 words of Leverage AU fic.
Week Three: 1,050 words of Leverage AU fic.
Week Four: 250 words of LOTR Crack fic. Completed.
2,400 words of Johanna/Annie fic. Completed.

6,050 words written in February!

Fics posted in February, 2012. )

This month I have worked on two things; a Teen Wolf fic and a Chicago Fire fic. The Teen Wolf fic is that happy thing of having All The Ideas and having the scenes just pour out of me, and even when I am not writing, having the scenes just forming and playing out in my head. The downside - not enough time to get it all out! I don't know what's up with my Teen Wolf muse, but every story idea I have seems to be wanting to take at least 10,000 words to write. You would think Teen Wolf would inspire ridiculous fun little fic ideas instead of these lengthy plot pieces that keep coming. Oh, Teen Wolf, how you never stop surprising me.
dodger_sister: (writing)
I swore, this year I was going to post these things at the beginning of the month! Um, anyways. I have decided to try and see how many of my WIPs I can actually get finished this year, as well as writing two major fic ideas I have; one for Teen Wolf and one for Dean/Cas. With the D/C PWP I finished in January, I have checked off one WIP so far! I’m sure I’ll have a few other things here and there, as already this year I wrote two little ficlets in two new fandoms - (that is if The Hobbit counts as a new fandom, which I think it does!).

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

January, 2013
Week One: 1,200 words of Dean/Cas PWP fic.
Week Two: 550 words of Chicago Fire fic. Completed.
750 words of Dean/Cas PWP fic.
Week Three: 1,700 words of Dean/Cas PWP fic.
Week Four: 450 words of Thorin/Balin fic. Completed.
1,550 words of Dean/Cas PWP fic. Completed.
Week Five: 1,000 words of Teen Wolf AU fic.

7,200 words written in January!

This month I have worked on some more WIPs, by going back to two fics that have been abandoned since last summer; a Leverage Apartment AU and my Johanna/Annie fic, which I hope to have finished this week. I’ve also decided to write some shorter Teen Wolf fics, to give myself a little variety before going full-tilt on my AU idea.

Fandoms Written In For 2012 - 17; Supernatural, Firefly, Hawaii Five-O, Without A Trace, Justified, CW RPS, Hunger Games, Leverage, Avengers, Real Person (various), The X-Files, X-Men, Harry Potter, Falling Skies, Spiderman, Angel and Teen Wolf.

New Fandoms Written In For 2012 - 5; Hunger Games, Leverage, Avengers, Falling Skies & Teen Wolf.

The Fandoms I Wrote The Most In For 2012 -
This was actually tricky because I wasn’t sure how to categorize ‘Apocalypse! Alien Asteroids’. <--That’s srz bznz, man! I mean, sure, it counts as all 25,600 words towards the fandom of Real Person (various), meaning Neil deGrasse Tyson comes up in the top three (as he should), but then what to do about The X-Files & The Avengers? It seems cheat to add the whole word count for those, since they are only in like half the story, but it also seems unfair not to count them at all. So I just went halfies at 12,800 words...making The Avengers my most written fandom of the year!

Supernatural - 18,700 words.
Real Person (various) - 25,600 words.
The Avengers - 31,300 words.

Lowest Monthly Word Count - 5,200 words for March.
Highest Monthly Word Count - 15,350 words for October.

Total Yearly Word Count - 99,250!!

I'm a little surprised by so many words for The Avengers. Go Team Avengers! If you were wondering, even without the word count of Apocalypse! Alien Asteroids, my Avengers count was still 18,500. Also, I’m VERY HAPPY with the total word count for the year but, oh man, if I had known I was so close to the 100k mark, I would have gone for those extra 750 words.

On to 2013, where I’m betting Teen Wolf wins everything. That’s right, I said Teen Wolf!
dodger_sister: (celebrate)
December brought the completion of my longest piece of fan-fiction to date - 25,630 words, final count. That’s almost 8,000 words more than my Fellowship Orgy fic, which was my previous longest fanfic. (I know, you are all thinking, ‘oh, how lovely, now tell us more about this orgy fic’ - I know you people!). After that I let myself just sort of tinker around a bit. I am working on a Dean/Cas hurt/comfort fic where Cas has the flu so badly that he has to go to the hospital and Dean is an anxious mess and it is as clichéd as it sounds and I love it. It was suppose to be about 3,000 words, but as per usual, it will be quite a bit longer. Once again, I broke 10k this last month!

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

December, 2012
Week One: 4,800 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Two: 3,900 words of Secret Crossover fic. Completed.
Week Three: 500 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.
300 words of Supernatural Christmas Poem. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Four: 600 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.

10,100 words written in December!

I think I am going to up my word count goals next year from 500 words a week to 1,000 words a week. I had a monthly total goal of 2,000 words a month and I always surpassed that, like always. But I didn’t always break 500 words a week, as you can see from above. Some weeks it just flows out of me and other weeks I am busy and exhausted or not feeling well and I make myself push out 500 words at the last second before I collapse again. So the 1,000 words a week is risky for those times that I am unwell, but I think I need to go for it, to push myself a little more than I did last year - which honestly, worked out so well and I am glad I set the goal.
dodger_sister: (fangirl)
So my word count for November was excellent. It seems after that whole ‘15,000 words in one month’ thing, that I’m suddenly breaking 10k again. I guess this means I will have to up my word count goals come 2013. I think the craziest thing I worked on in November was not the Hawaii Five-O fic wherein Steve is an angsty recluse and Grace is a faux-goth punk teenager (which actually was kind of fun to work on and I hope to go back to it, I liked writing Grace a lot)…but in fact, the strangest thing that happened writing-wise in November was that I wrote J2. I kind of thought I was mostly over that pairing and yet, I wrote two J2 fics last month. And they were for a fic meme, which I have only ever participated in one before, but this one was so inspiring, I couldn’t resist.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

November, 2012
Week 1/2: 2,150 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.
Week One: 750 words of Dean/Cas Hurt/Comfort fic.
Week Two: 1,450 words of Secret Crossover fic.
600 words of Hawaii Five-0 Grace fic.
Week Three: 800 words of J2 Schmoop fic. Completed.
1,500 words of Jensen fic. Completed.
600 words of Dean/Cas PWP.
Week Four: 4,000 words of Secret Crossover Fic.

11,850 words written in November!

The best thing that has happened in December, writing-wise, is that I finished The BFF’s fic! My plan is to post it during like the second week of January. Since I finished that story, I have just been writing a bit here and there on some Dean/Cas things I have sitting around, but not really pushing myself to hard. I figured after a 25,000+ fic, I could take it easy for a while.
dodger_sister: (omg)
I HAVE FINISHED THE BFF’S FIC!!! I honestly can’t believe it. 25,548 words. Can you imagine there was a time when I thought this thing was going to be 6,000 words long? And then every 4,000 words or so after that, I would say, “Oh, it just needs another 4,000 more words.” Yeah, I said that 5 more times before I hit the end. Man, when I say I have no concept of how long something is going to be when I sit down to write it, I mean it. 70 pages long! It’s the longest fan-fiction I have ever written. It’s about 8,000 more words than what was my previous longest fan-fic ever, which was 17,000+.

Now I have reached the point where I am unsure if it is actually any good or not though, because I’ve been working on it since May. May! Still, I like it myself, so hopefully she will too. I thought maybe the front half was action-lite but then I thought, isn’t it true that in like, say a movie, you get way more action in the second half than you do in the first half? Right?

Anyways, soon enough I will be able to reveal to you all what the crossovers are in this secret story. The BFF gets it on like the Saturday before Christmas and then after that I can tell you all about it. Given my crazy Christmas/New Years schedule, it probably won’t get posted until January anyway but still, I’ve been calling it the ‘Secret Crossover’ for so long, I thought you might be curious.

At 25,500 words, this is like Big Bang length. Which makes me think I should do some art for it. At least like a cover page. I make cover pages for The Nephew’s fics and they are usually only like 3,000 words, so I think a 25,000 word fic should get one too.

What I really need now is a beta reader. Anybody up for it? You know, the usual; typos, tense changes, tell me whether or not I need to add anything. I don’t expect any major issues with it but like I said, after nearly seven months of this thing, I can’t see straight. I’d give you (virtual) hugs. And my (real life) unending gratitude. Anyone? /puppy eyes/

Alright, off to bed now. Chicago Fire time! Gotta watch my sexy firemen/paramedics save people and flirt with each other.

Here, let's get this in before the next month starts. You guys, Idek...I started writing a Teen Wolf AU wherein Stiles is eleven and goes into foster care and it is so clichéd that it hurts a little in my chest and yet, it is beautiful. I have fallen into the Teen Wolf pit - who's surprised? Also, NEW WORD COUNT RECORD! Since I started keeping track at the beginning of this year, the highest I had gone was 8,800 words in a month. Last month I almost doubled that! It was that Halloween story - it just came pouring out of me like crazy awesome. That fic ended up being the second longest piece of fanfic I have ever written and I pulled it off in three weeks. I am still kind of startled by that, when I think about it. Of course, now that I know I can write that much in a month, I am going to have to up my word goals for next year.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

October, 2012
Week One: 600 words of Teen Wolf AU fic.
Week Two: 1,200 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Three: 150 words of Lindsey & Cas fic.
3,100 words of Avengers Halloween fic.
Week Four: 6,100 words of Avengers Halloween fic.
Week Four and a Half: 4,200 words of Avengers Halloween fic. Completed. (already posted!)

15,350 words written in October!!!

This month my bizarre writing choice was to start an AU based off a Hawaii Five-0 episode wherein I decided to kill Danny, make Steve have serious angst issues over this and turn Gracie into an angry-goth-teenager. Idek. Mostly I am just trying to finish The BFF's fic in time for Christmas. I have written a ton more on it, broke through the latest plot hurdle, did a bunch of rewrites and even added a new character. It's just that I had forgotten how long it takes to write action scenes and I feel rather unaccomplished just because I haven't reached the next section yet. I have three weeks. I can do this. Right?
dodger_sister: (writing)
Well, almost the end of this month, but let's do my word count for last month. Halfway through August I set a goal for 9,000 words in an attempt to finish four stories I was working on. I ended up hitting 10,700 words in those six weeks. I finished three of the four stories as well. I still have not finished The BFF's fic but I wrote three times as much on it in September as I did in August, so I'll take that. That fic is like, "Oh, it needs about 4,000 more words," and then I write another 1,000 words and I look at it and think, "Nope, it still needs 4,000 more words." It's like the nightmare about running down the hallway and you can see the end, but it just gets farther and farther away. But I'm still working on it and I'm still loving it, so that's all good. Anyways, I am very happy with how September's writing went as a whole.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

September, 2012
Week One: 1,700 words of Spiderman & His Amazing Friends fic. Completed. (already posted!)
200 words of Angel/Supernatural Threesome fic.
Week Two: 3,000 words of Angel/Supernatural Threesome fic. Completed. (already posted!)
550 words of Random Dean/Cas AU.
Week Three: 1,100 words of Leverage fic. Completed.
850 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Four: 900 words of Secret Crossover fic.

8,300 words written in September!

October is going really well, writing-wise. I decided to write an Avengers Halloween story. As always happens with my fics, I planned on it being about 4,000 words and now I realize it will be closer to 8,000. Mostly I blame Darcy and Bruce for this and the fact that they just want to stand around being all cute together instead of letting me haunt the shit out of Darcy's dreams. I can't be too upset about it though because they are adorable. Hopefully, I'll actually get it finished in time to post for Halloween. I also have written more on The BFF's fic - I mentally divided it up into three sections in my head and I have finally reached Section Three. It's all coming along.
dodger_sister: (fanfic)
So, it’s the 24th and I haven’t done this yet. It’s seems to be later and later each month. Oh well. Last month I wrote a lot of words but didn’t ‘complete’ very much. In fact, the only reason I even completed the one Leverage fic is because I cut it short. It was meant to be hand-jobs in a stairwell but they got to the kissing and they were all...Feelings & Emotions! I, of course, was all….No, Hand-Jobs, I say! They did not listen and on reread, I realized I had reached the end of the fic. So, no hand-jobs but yay one completed story! I also started my first ever NC-17 Without A Trace fic! I can’t believe, with how obsessive I was about the Danny/Martin pairing, that I never wrote any porn before.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

August, 2012
Week 1/2: 500 words of Leverage fic.
Week One: 600 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Two: 2,350 words of Spiderman and His Amazing Friends fic.
Week Three: 900 words of Eliot/Hardison fic. Completed.
Week Four: 1,500 words of Danny/Martin PWP fic.

5,850 words written in August!

You may recall how I made a goal for myself halfway through last month to 'write 9,0000 words/complete four fics' by the end of September. After I set that goal, all I worked on was the Eliot/Hardison fic and the Danny/Martin fic - neither of which were on the list! I can say that I have done much better this month and have completed several of the stories and am going to surpass the '6 weeks/9,000 words' goal. Hell, at this rate I may surpass 9,000 words in the month of September alone. Also, I have an idea for a Teen Wolf/SPN story and I am ashamed of myself, but I can feel the urge to write it overcoming me. Don’t point your finger at me [livejournal.com profile] wolfrider89 - I know what I have become!

First, let me just say that as I was scrolling through my July archives to see what fic I had posted in years past, I came across two things of note. a) I was legit bitching in a post back in July of 2010 about how Red Dawn is never coming out. Apparently, even back then I thought the wait had already been too long for the release of this movie. Little did I know how much longer I would have to wait. And b) I was scrolling by posts and I saw this jump out at me - Please tell Jeremy Renner to come over later and make-out with me. K? Thanx. It was a letter directed at Ben Affleck about his movie The Town. I'm just sayin', I have always had good tastes in men, okay? (Still haven't actually seen The Town yet though - should make sure it is in the Netflix).

Now word county stuffs: Almost forgot to post this month. I went to put in my word count from yesterday (2,350 words!) and I saw that last month's list was still in the document. Oops. I would say it is a pretty diverse month, but I feel like I always say that, don't I? Still five different fandoms this month, including Falling Skies fic, so add a brand new fandom to my list! Also, the cabin fic that I wrote out by hand ended up being 300 words more than I had estimated once I had typed it out. But so very, very little on The BFF's fic.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

July, 2012
Week One: 550 words of Leverage fic.
Week Two: 1,700 words of Falling Skies Tom/Weaver fic. Completed.
Week Three: 1,550 words of Christian/Jensen AU fic.
Week Four: 1,500 words of SPN Weechester Cabin fic. Completed.
Week Four and a Half: 700 words of Secret Crossover fic.

6,000 words written in July!

My goal between now and the end of September is to finish The BFF's fic - it already has 8,000 words and it needs about 4,000 more, I think, to be completed. I also want to finish The Nephew's back-to-school fic which I started yesterday. That needs about 1,500 more words or so. And, of course, the birthday fic I started for [livejournal.com profile] wolfrider89 last year right before I went into the hospital. That one needs another 2,500 words, possibly more. It is going to be a challenge though because I stopped right in the middle of a sex scene and it is hard to start back up again right in the flow of porn, you know? If I have time, I would also like to finish the little Leverage fic I am working on. It needs another 1,000 words and I figure I can work on it when I am feeling tapped out on the other stories. That's about 9,000 words in six weeks - I can do that, right?

My word count for the month of June! I almost came in with my lowest numbers yet this year, but I pushed myself on the last day of the month and went over the edge. I was at 3,100 words on the 30th of June and I sat down to finish the story I had started earlier that week. By the time I went to bed, I had written that story and another story - a total of 2,600 words for the day. I didn't do enough on The BFF's fic this month but I did finally write another piece in the Burrowing 'verse for Harry Potter. I'd been wanting to do that for about four years now. I also completed my first Leverage fic ever! Who would have thought that the first Leverage fic I finished would turn out to be an Eliot-Parker friendship fic? Also, not my first X-Men fic ever, but my first one in the subgenre of 'First Class' was completed this month. All in all, a pretty diverse month, even for me.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

June, 2012
Week One: 950 words of X-Men: First Class fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Two: 1,050 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Three: 600 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Four: 2,050 words of Wee!Weasley Harry Potter fic. Completed.
1,050 words of Leverage Eliot-Parker fic. Completed.

5,700 words written in June!

On a side note: 41,800 words so far this year!

So far this month I have started a new Leverage fic and written some Falling Skies fic. I have so many thoughts about Falling Skies, I need to make a post. We will just say that I wrote some Tom Mason/Dan Weaver fic and it got weird and though I really like it a lot actually, I am not sure I am brave enough to post it. I would probably have to make a new 'kink' tag for it. Let's just leave it at that. (Now all I have done is intrigued you all, haven't I?)

Finally getting around to last month’s word count. May was a really good month for writing, thanks to two birthdays of my most favorite people in the world - The Nephew and The BFF. One of the fics I worked on last month was The Nephew’s birthday fic which got a great response from him - he wants me to write him another one. The other fic I worked on last month was The BFF’s fic and no, it is not done yet. I have now reached 6,200 words on the thing and I think I have finally reached the halfway mark on this sucker.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

May, 2012
Week One: 850 words of Avengers Action fic.
Week Two: 1,550 words of Avengers Action fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Three: 2,400 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Four: 2,050 words of Secret Crossover fic.
Week Five: 650 words of Secret Crossover fic.

7,500 words written in May!

I think for The Nephew’s ‘back to school’ fic at the end of the summer - (I told him he had to wait until then for me to write him another) - I will try a little Spiderman & Friends, otherwise known in my head as “The Grand Adventures of Bobby and Peter.” I was thinking a little fic where Iceman and Spiderman meet in high school and proceed to fight crime together. I am hoping I can write it for kids and still appeal to the HS AU crowd, but we’ll see.

I almost forgot to make this post this month! My word count for April. I did amazing last month on my word count. My second best numbers so far this year, thanks to two important birthdays and massive inspiration. I finished up a fic, wrote in an old fandom, wrote in a fandom that I love to read in but barely ever write in, and finished out with a brand new fandom. Everything I worked on this month - Completed! I am not sure all of it is good (the Danny/Martin fic is so clichéd it hurts and I didn’t even write the porny bits!) and some of it went to a totally different place than I had intended, but other pieces made me ridiculously happy.

Here is my approximate word count for the month.

April, 2012
Week One: 500 words of Gale/Finnick fic. Completed.
Week Two: 1,450 words of Danny/Martin fic. Completed.
Week Three: 3,650 words of Steve/Danny fic. Completed. (already posted!)
Week Four: 2,700 words of Avengers Gen fic. Completed. (already posted!)

8,300 words written in April!

Overall, April was a really, really good month for writing. I also managed to post seventeen times, which may be a record for me. On the other hand, I have now gotten so far behind on my Flist that it won’t actually let me go back that far. I still have a ton of writing to do this month for RL birthdays - (finished The Nephew's, am working on The BFF's, want to do one for The Sister). But you guys...I started The BFF’s birthday fic and I can’t talk about it here because she reads this LJ…but I am stupidly in love with it and I hope it keeps going as well as it has started!
